things happens...

Hi everyone I bet you all thought I had disappeared didn't you...well despite all your prayers and well wishes and good thoughts the thing we were dreading happened so over the last few days we have been trying to get our heads around it...don't worry its not life threatening or anything like that but it is life changing so it will take a little while for us to get a grip off...I cant really talk about it in depth atm as there are family members who don't know and it wouldn't be fair to them for them to read it on here would I...all I can say is please please please keep sending us those positive vibes...we really need them atm, we are trying to stay positive but its super hard sometimes isn't it...right now back to posting I think...oooohhhh the weather here is so yucky today there is hardly a drop of light in the sky and its being like evening all day long hence the rubbish grey photo...so apologies in advance...what have you all been up to since I last spoke to you?...anything exciting or super interesting...go on spill the beans lol...right now for my greyish card for today...how cute is this little fella, look at that sad little face...only Mo from Mo's Digital Pencil could draw this cutie...hes called Broked B C and I coloured him with my usual distress inks and yes I am still struggling along with that paper lol...the lush papers I used for my card are from the Basic Grey Fresh Cut 6" x 6" Paper Pad I got from Bunny Zoe's Crafts and all I added to finish was a few gorgeous yellow buttons...I was going to add some ribbon but didn't think it needed it...what do you think?...the lush sketch is from Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 challenge and I'm also entering it for the Doodle Pantry Challenge and the Fairy tale Challenge too...I'm off to sample some lush home baking now and then an evening in front of the tv...what you been up to today?...I will speak to you all bright and early tomorrow and whatever your up to for the rest of the day have fun

my first try at light ink colouring...

Good morning everyone, thank you all so much for your birthday wishes they meant a lot to me and I enjoyed reading them so much too I will catch up with you all this week to thank you in person...great dinner last night the chicken it was fab but...major cheesecake disaster...the cream cheese I bought was a slimline one and I didn't notice, so with the higher milk instead of fat content meant my cheesecake mix didn't set in time...so a rethink was needed, it tasted great and was like thick whisked cream in texture so I chopped up the lush Oreo base to a thick crumb and served the cream mix with the crumb with grated chocolate and orange on it and wow it was delicious...so dessert disaster averted, isn't it amazing what we can come up with when we have too lol...our beautiful Daughter and her other half bought me a lush snood scarf in blue, its beautiful and jewellery and a pedicure set, Phil bought me two leather and fabric bound books for sketching and writing ideas in, they are so stunning I will take a photo and show you and he bought me new make up brushes (badly needed for a while) see we think men don't listen lol and my lovely Dad gave me cash to buy something I wanted...we had a lovely dinner and loads of giggling and conversations, so my Birthday was brilliant and couldn't have been more perfect...I got an email last week from someone asking about using distress inks to colour a lighter stamped image and if it would work, I hadn't a clue so thought well give a go girl...I stamped this stunningly cheeky little cherub in using the palest ink pad I had which was a Memento London Fog pad, I had to heat set it though as it isn't waterproof unless set and there you go distress inks work with it ok although I had to adjust the amounts I used and its still not perfect but as a first go not too bad...what do you think?...this stamp is from the brand new Magnolia With Love collection and is called Bonny Tilda (and its on sale atm too)...isn't it just so so cute and just a little bit cheeky lol...the paper is from Magnolia too and is the Red Romance 6x6" Paper I finished my card with two Heart Paper Frames (Doilies) - 10cm some Ruffle Rose - Red and Sonia Rose - Ivory flowers, a strip of lace and a ceramic sentiment...everything except the lace and sentiment are from Bunny Zoe's Crafts the fab sketch is from Sketch N Stash challenge and I'm also entering it for the Fairytale Challenge and the Lovely Hanglar or Sweet Magnolia challenge too...I'm having a chilling colouring day today I want to try a few more images in the pale ink to see if I can improve my shading with them...whatever your up to today I hope its a great one

dance with joy...the house photos are below...

Good morning everyone how was your weekend, I hope it was brilliant...ours was full of running around, but that kind of running around when you don't really seem to get anything done, do you know what I mean...btw I posted the house photos below this post as I don't want to overload this with loads and loads of photos...I hope you like the house, we love it to bits...right now so you don't have too much to read I will get on with my card for today which is using this stunning digi from Mo's Digital Pencil ,well of course its from Mo, look at those faces...this beauty is called Cutting the Rug and as always I coloured them with distress inks, don't you think the rich colours of this stunning Carta Bella - Beautiful Moments 6x6 Paper Pad go so well with these two cuties, I bought this from Bunny Zoe's Crafts and the tags are cut from the same pad...all I needed to finish was a huge green bow and a rose corner cut from the pad too...I made the sketch up as I went along as I don't have enough time to follow a load of challenges like before, but I am entering it for the Fairy Tale Challenge and Totally Papercrafts challenge too, they are both song inspired and I chose Dance with Somebody by Whitney Houston...so shocking that she isn't with us anymore isn't it...I hope you enjoy the photos of the house as well as my card and I will try my best to get around blog hopping tonight but I'm not having much luck fighting the 'eyelids attached to my butt' syndrome atm, I fall asleep as soon as I sit down lol...whatever your up to today have a brilliant one everyone

feeling hot hot hot...

Good morning everyone are you all enjoying the weather or melting yet lol...its really not a good idea going shopping on the hottest day of the year when the stores haven't quite sorted out if they should have heating or air con on yet...we were having a fantastic day wandering round doing the girlie stuff yesterday, loved make up shopping as its great to do that with another woman isn't it but then we went into a dress shop to look at some we had seen in the window and omg it must have 35 degrees in there, it just washed over me like a sickness and I could feel myself going, we had to dash outside as my Daughter said I changed colour and she thought I was going to pass out (I didn't tell her I thought I was going to too lol)...fair enough that they don't have the air con but at least open a door or two...the poor girls that worked there looked terrible in that heat, I really felt for them...we had lunch then sat in our town square for a while nattering...fantastic day, I think the older our Daughter gets the better shopping trips are, long gone are the days of dashing from shop to shop with a stroppy teenager who cant find anything that fits, or doesn't make her look fat (yeah right like a size 10 is fat) or hates something because I picked it...thank goodness they are over too lol...right now onto my card for today, I love this fantastic Bubbles Boy from Mo's Digital Pencil don't you, his little face is so adorable, definitely a Mo's face isnt it, I coloured him with distress inks and used this amazing paper from My Minds eye Lil Robots range, I love this collection it has such lush colours and is brilliant for boys cards of all ages...I finished my card with some ribbons, a double knot, buttons and a couple of cogs cut from the paper...the lush sketch is from Dutch Dare challenge and I'm also entering it for the Chocolate, Coffee & Cards challenge and the Fairytale challenge...I'm not sure what we are up to today as the car is in for a service from early but hopefully will be out by 1pm because I still need to get a couple of things for our Daughters Birthday tomorrow...whatever your up to today have a fantastic one and watch out for the 'hot' shops

a splash of orange...

Good morning everyone I hope you all survived Friday the 13th without incident, I have a little snippet of information for you today, did you know this year there are 4 Friday the 13th's and they are exactly 13 weeks apart...my head is full of rubbish like that that's no use to anyone lol, Phil's away at the motorbikes racing marshaling again so I'm not up to much today, would you believe I spent most of yesterday in bed sleeping, I'm hoping that's the end of the virus thingy I have, when I finally woke up Phil had a lovely dinner of lasagna, salad and garlic potatoes, it looked fantastic but I hadn't the heart to tell him I wasn't hungry, well you cant do that when someone has gone to all that effort can you...it was tasty though and I ate some of it...I stayed up for a few hours but nodded off on the sofa again, woke for another hour did a teeny bit of commenting but couldnt keep my eyes open so then off to bed and slept like a log...maybe I have sleeping sickness lol

I didn't even switch my laptop off which is unknown for me, I'm really careful with electrical stuff...right enough of my moaning are you up to anything exciting today, go on let me know so I can be jealous lol...my card for today is using another MayzyArt digi, this is the fabulous Jean Reading, I love how she does faces don't you...I coloured her with distress inks and had to make her a redhead with these lush papers I bought from Bunny Zoe's Crafts, they are from the Kaisercraft Homemade 6x6 paper pad, these papers are fantastic in this pad and like all Kaisercraft pads they have four pages of tag, embellishments and paper borders at the back, the tag on the image and message are from the same pad...I added some lush rich orange ribbon to finish...Im entering this for the Fairy Tale Challenge, Charisma Cardz challenge and Card Makin Mamas challenge too...I promise I wont have a moan at you tomorrow, I'm sure your fed up with reading me feel sorry for myself, so today I will give myself a good shake and get down to some serious crafting as my stash is feeling a bit neglected I think...whatever your up to today have a fantastic day

Im baaaccccckkk....again...the fastest card I have made

Good morning...again...I hope your all well and you had a fantastic week in our unexpected sun...the weather at the farmhouse was fantastic, it was like being on holiday and my Dad loved it, it was the first time he had been down to the farmhouse and I don't think he wanted to leave he loved it so much, we were out and about every day and went for a fantastic meal on Wednesday for our anniversary, I had the best roast beef I have tasted in my whole life, it was so good I even dreamed about it that night lol...when we came home from being out on Thursday the local farmer was cleaning out his cow shed and spreading it on the fields (surprisingly unsmelly actually) and my Dad and Phil just sat and watched him for hours????...is that a man thing do you think, I went inside for a shower and my Dad says where you going, I answered 'well there's just so much sh*t shovelling a girl can watch in one go'...so true isn't it lol...I made the fastest card today and I'm really not happy with it at all but it will have to do until I get a good crafting session done this afternoon and the thing with coming home after being away is all the shopping etc you have to do isn't it...groan...anyway I used this cutie Magnolia Tilda stamp, she is one of my favourites and so so sweet with those flowers behind her back, I think shes called something like Secret Tilda but don't quote me as Im not sure...I coloured her with distress inks and teamed her up with these stunningly soft papers from the Kaisercraft Pink Gelato 6.5"x6.5" Paper Pad from Bunny Zoe's Crafts, its so soft and gorgeous, I added a cut up doily for lace and a soft lilac ribbon, the tag and flower are from the same pad too...I'm entering this for the Simon Says Stamp challenge and the Fairy Tale challenge too...right I'm off to get ready to go to the supermarket....oh joy of joys lol...whatever your up to today have a fantastic one

every girl need a set of pink twinkly wings...

Good morning everyone I hope your all well...we had gorgeous sunshine yesterday, isn't it amazing what a little bit of sunshine does for peoples moods, everyone seemed to be lighter and smiling, but I don't know if it was the sun or not but I saw two traffic accidents yesterday both involving children being picked up at school...not serious thank goodness just a couple of dents in the side and back...I hate the thought of kids being in accidents like that though don't you, there's only one thing wrong with sunshine, it shows up the dust something shocking doesn't it...I had a mooch and a bit of a shop yesterday and bought a couple of gift cards for my beautiful Daughters other half's birthday which was yesterday, then they came for dinner last night and I even got him a cake complete with candles, we sang to him and made him blow them out too, hes one of life's sweeties, such a kind and gentle soul who wouldn't hurt a fly and would give you his last breath and most important he worships our Daughter...I always buy gift cards for men's presents as I think unless they have said they would like something specific they are the hardest people to shop for so a clothes shop voucher and a HMV voucher should sort him out with a game and a new shirt I think...I don't somehow think he would have appreciated socks lol...ok now onto my card for today which is using this fantastically adorable C.C. Designs Swiss Pixie Nymph Lucy isn't she gorgeous and look at those fantastic wings, I coloured her with distress inks and paper pieced her dress...aren't those papers just lush they are from the new Glitz range and these are from the Glitz 6x6" Paper Pack - Pretty in Pink pad, I love this new paper range and bought two of them...the papers and stamp are both from Bunny Zoe's Crafts
I finished with some black and pink ribbons and a circular sentiment, I also cut out one of the teeny roses from the paper for the centre of the sentiment...the sketch is from the Totally Gorjuss challenge and I'm also entering it for the DYSU challenge and Fairy tale challenge ...I'm hanging around the house today until I hear how my Dad got on with his appointment and if the sun is still shining I might have to do a little bit of dusting, I know I shouldn't mention the H word but needs must when the sun shows it up doesn't it...whatever your up to today step away from the dusters and have a brilliant one

has Spring arrived?...

Good morning everyone, is it just me or is it getting a little bit warmer?...oooohhhh I do hope so, I'm officially fed up with the cold miserable weather now aren't you...I was tidying up my computer yesterday and came across some holiday photos and that made me think of warm days and beautiful clear nights...I did my work yesterday, yes I managed to get past the eyelid/bum situation finally and had a fantastic day just crafting and drinking tea...mind my head was sore last night and my eyes were feeling a bit worse for wear too...but it was worth it, I really enjoyed myself...I also watched a few back episodes of Family Guy last night and chuckled away to myself, isn't it strange how daft we feel laughing out loud when we are all alone and its so quiet lol...right now onto my card for today which is for the digi teams new challenge at Crafts and Me challenges, its my choice of theme this time and I chose Shades of Spring so any spring like colours at all and don't forget you don't need to use a Crafts and Me image for the challenge either, I used one of the beautiful new digis from Crafts and Me called A Princess is Born, isn't it gorgeous...I coloured this beauty and her Princess with distress inks and used more of the stunning Prima 6x6 Madeline paper pad, I'm totally addicted to this pad and it seems to be lasting ages because there are so many papers in it, I added a lush soft pink ribbon and bow and some butterflies punched with my Martha Stewart punch, I also cut one of the butterflies from the paper too...I also added a stamped sentiment...the lush sketch is from The Sweet Stop challenge and I'm also entering it for the Fairy Tale Challenge and Totally Papercrafts challenge too...If it stays nice today I may just take myself into Town for a little wander round, although maybe I shouldn't have said that as it will probably rain now lol...whatever your up to today have a dry one

its all about the eyes...

Good morning everyone are you all well and ready for Christmas?...isn't it weird that we all get so organised but still end up running around like headless chickens on the last few days...I always think the supermarkets are crazy at Christmas, a few years ago my Daughters other half came shopping with me to help me carry and he was so so shocked at the crowds and craziness in Salisbury's, I remember him asking me how long they were closed for an wouldn't believe it was just a day lol...my card for today is using this amazing digi stamp from Sugar Nellie, this is one of my favourite Adorables, its those beautiful eyes I think, his name is Nathan, I coloured him with distress inks and teamed him up with this lush Basicgrey paper from the Eskimo Kisses collection, this one is called Woodland...love these bright christmas colours...I took this photo in full sunlight (yes we do get some now and again lol) and I think it may have turned out a little bit too bright...I added some fab twill ribbon and two message cut another sheet of paper and just a few buttons...the fab sketch is from Inspirational Card Sketches and I'm also entering it for the CES challenge and the Fairytale Challenge I haven't a clue what I'm doing today, I'm probably colouring or walking down the lane collecting holly, does mistletoe grow wild in hedges?...hhhmmmm I must have a look...whatever you up to today have a brilliant one

a miracle in blue...

Good morning everyone I hope you all well and keeping warm, its freezing cold here and the gales have just died down...well coffee with my lovely Dad yesterday was a huge success we managed to end the rule of stupid politicians, put the economy to rights and had a rant at some of the idiots in the news too...see thats all it takes is coffee and my Dad and everything is sorted...he has fallen madly in love with his loaner Vauxhall car and doesn't want his Renault back lol...oops I smell trouble brewing lol...well have you all got your Christmas shopping sorted yet, I thought mine was done and dusted but Phil's present are causing a real pain in my bum...I haven't a clue and when I ask him for some ideas he says he hasn't a clue and there's nothing he needs...now its great he isn't in need of anything but just a few clues would be brilliant, all ideas would be gratefully accepted if you have any...right now onto my card for today which is for our new Digi teams challenge at Crafts and Me challenge the theme this time is Pearls and Swirls, the image I used is from Crafts and Me of course and is called Christmas Miracle and is from the December release which you will be able to get tomorrow...isn't she so beautiful sitting on her clouds with her gorgeous little lamb...I coloured her with distress inks and used some more scrap paper (can you tell I found a box of scraps lol), I have a feeling this is a Basicgrey paper, the swirls on it are snowflakes and its such a gorgeous colour combo...I used some gorgeous creamy coloured pearls and grey ribbon and added some scroll rub on's to finish...the fabulous sketch is from Sketch Saturday but I have just noticed I forgot the sentiment so I'm not sure it will count...I'm also entering this for the Fairytale challenge and Creative Card Crew challenge too...I'm having a crafting day today to catch up on some DT work anyway its far too cold to stray far from my heating...whatever your up to have a wonderful day and when you have time don't forget to pop on over to Crafts and Me Challenge and see what the rest of our wonderful digi team came up with

a true Christmas image...

Good morning everyone well did you all get your cobwebs blown away lol...we had a gale all day long yesterday and every single time I stepped out of the car the heavens opened, to the extent that Phil said he would go to a shop by himself as he didn't want to get wet again, and would you believe it didn't rain while he was out of the car...sods law lol...my poor Dad, the powers that be said they would ring him as soon as they knew what was happening about either his car being fixed, a loaner or even a rental car...they finally rang back and said we can only get you a hire car but you have to pick it up in Belfast before 1pm, we live 60 miles away from Belfast and they rang at...have a guess what time...12.40am...yes that's right 20 mins before the place closed...how stupid is that, I am so angry that they have left a severely disabled 78 year old man without any transport at all, even though he pays for all the extra help hes supposed to get if anything happens to his car, at least Phil was here to drive him around this weekend but I don't know what will happen next week as I don't drive...if I could have got someone on the phone I would have ripped a hole in them the poor things lol...they better run and hide before Monday though...right my rant for today is over (phew thank goodness I hear you all yell lol), I will get onto my card which is using this fantastically christmassy image, there's something about an image with a Robin isn't there, this little darling is from Just Inklined and is called Gatepost Robin, I coloured it with distress inks and frosted the gatepost because I wanted to make it look snowy and covered with frost...the stunning papers are from the Fancy Pants 6x6 Saint Nick paper pad from Bunny Zoe's Crafts, this really is THE perfect Christmas pad and there's bits of everything in it, I love the paper with the Saint Nick printed on it as it has a real textured old leather look to it...I finished with some lush ribbon and a few berries, I'm rapidly running out of these berries must have a hunt around for more for next years cards...the fab sketch which I tilted is from Inkspirations challenge and I'm also entering it for the Fairy tale challenge, Craft Your Days Away Challenge and the Cardmadfairy's digi challenge...we are going to huddle indoors and have a lovely ulster fry lunch today so no jaunts out as I'm not ricking another umbrella blowing inside out...whatever your up to today stay safe and warm

suffering withdrawal symptoms...

Good morning everyone I hope you all had a fantastic weekend...I'm seriously suffering from withdrawal symptoms from lack of blogging now and I had to stay up until 1am to get this posted, I'm missing my nightly blog hopping and its driving me nuts...if it isn't sorted out soon heads will roll...and it wont be mine lol...well Sunday here was so so quiet, the only thing we did was go to our local pound store and bought loads of cleaning stuff, I think I get this from my Mum, she was obsessive about things like having loads of toilet roll and kitchen roll and if she saw a bargain in them or cleaning things she would buy at least 6...she always said when I asked her why she did it it was 'just in case'...I never did find out when the just in case time was, but if the nuclear winter ever hit we were sorted for cleaning lol, I still miss my Mum's wicked sense of humour...right now my card for today is for the Bunny Zoe's Crafts DT...now how sweet are these two on their swing together...they are from the newest Whiff of Joy collection and are called Friends forever Nora & Ben, I coloured them with distress inks and used some of these amazingly coloured papers from the new Bo Bunny 6x6 paper pad called Vicki B, lush lush designs aren't they, I finished with a ribbon, some pearls and a gorgeous Prima flower...the fab sketch is from The Sweet Stop challenge and I'm also entering these for the Fairy Tale and Stamp with fun challenges...if I remember I'm going to charge my camera up fully today to take with me for piccys of the house to show you all (one of you remind me on Tuesday or Wednesday please as I'm going down on Thursday), I hope you dont all have this picture in your head of a chocolate box cottage because its not that at all...and I'm hopefully going to get some crafting done today fingers crossed...whatever your up to today have a brilliant one

Good morning everyone...well I'm all alone this weekend, my darling Phil is away road racing, gorgeous Daughter is visiting friends in Belfast so there's just me and my Dad so we are heading out to do something haven't a clue what yet as I cant really drag him around the craft stores can I...well I could but would get fed up with the moaning lol...might take him for lunch instead...my card for today is my very first twisted easel card, I must admit I was really surprised how easy it was...don't know why I thought it was though...isn't this little Connie digi from Sugar Nellie just stunning...look at those eyes

I showed my Daughter my first two Sugar Nellie DT cards and she didn't like my Bambino card but loved this one and she said it was the eyes, I love her hair too though...oh well you cant control brutal honesty can you lol...I coloured her with Distress inks and used this amazing scrapbook papers but I'm so sorry but I haven't a clue what make it is as I forgot to look and it was on the back of it...oopsie...the Home sentiment is from the same sheet, I had thought of prying that off to see if was behind that but would be gutted if it ripped...I used a stunning word ribbon and a mixture of buttons, one tied with string to finish...I'm entering this for the Stamp Something digi challenge and the Fairy Tale Challenge children's challenge too...I'm not used to being by myself on a Saturday so feel a bit lost this morning, so I'm off to pamper myself, give myself a manicure and then get ready to go out...whatever your up to today I hope you have a fabulous one...I have new candy for you tomorrow and its a brill one too so don't forget to pop by then

Good morning everyone are you all fit and well I hope so, there seems to be loads of nasty bugs doing the rounds doesn't there, I hope you have have managed to duck them so far...now the last time I was having a crafting day I was having a rummage for some papers when I came across a box, oooohhhhhhh don't you just love a mysterious box, it was full of fabulous flowers, the sort that have bust out of their packets or the last one in the pack sort of thing, the flowers I used for today's card were in there too, now how on earth do you forget you have these stashed, I also found a pile of 6x6 papers that had fallen out of their pads, I think the flowers are from Prima...the image is of course a Simply Sassy girl, this one is Bella Bunting coloured with Distress inks and paper pieced, you sick of seeing my paper piecing yet?...the papers are definitely K&Co but I have no idea which pad they are from, I finished my card with a saddle stitched ribbon and a Tim Holtz sentiment ticket...the fab sketch is from The Sweetest Thing and I'm also entering this for the Fairy Tale flower challenge too...I'm off to have another rummage you never know what I will find next, I really must stop stashing things in safe places and forgetting about them lol...have a brilliant day everyone
