Birthday Celebrations Easel Card!

Thought I would take part in the Dare over at Daring Cardmakers this week the challenge is to make a shaped easel card... This also fits very nicely for the birthday celebrations challenge over at Simon says too :)

It's not exactly a different shape I just curved the top corners to follow the label die cut. So, I needed a card for someone who totally loves horses, then I remembered these Gorjuss images and edited the unicorn slightly to make it more horsey, tee hee! I have printed it twice and fussy cut one to layer over the other with dimensional foam. The rosette I made from adhering the ribbon in pleats around the circle and embellishing with die cut numbers. The charm I have attached with a little bead bling made by yours truly!

Supplies: Patterned Paper: K&Co: Amy butler;
Images: Gorjuss Art: pack 24; PTI: sentiment;
Ink: Archival: black; distress ink: antique linen;
Dies: Sizzix: tags; alphabet; Spellbinder's nestabilties: labels 8; circles scallop; WRMK; corner rounder;
Other: chip board; BG: brad; ribbon; Quixotic: horse charm; beads etc; 3D foam;

Thanks for stopping by today and I'm so pleased you enjoyed my little tutorial yesterday. HuGs Kim :)

BasicGrey Challenge #17 ~ Happy Easter and Craft Stamper Sneak...

Yes lots in the title LOL, I realise I've been M.I.A but I haven't stopped and have been too tired to even schedule these posts so I'm merging them all together... Here goes Phew!!!

The Fantastic Martine has designed a sketch for our inspiration, this week over at Basic Grey Challenges

I'm soooo late posting my card, I made this card for a young girls twenty first birthday, let’s hope she likes it! I didn't have a girly image to suit so I went for this digi image from Mo manning. The image is so adorable and she's typical girly! I have coloured her with my copics (of course) and matched colours from the patterned papers. I have tried to take a close up of the spica sparkle I have covered the dress with. The image is also quite long and so I've tweaked the sketch just a little to accommodate. I also made my own little bead charm/pin behind the flower, from the wonderful goddies I won from Quixoticpaperie, thank you Elaine. I used a little glossy accents to hold the beads inplace!

 Supplies: Patterned Paper: BasicGrey: bittersweet;
Stamps: Mo's Digital Pencil; Cara Chatting; PTI: sentiment;
Ink: printer; Archival: black; Copic: markers*; spica glitter;
Dies: Sizzix: flourish; Spellbinders: tags; Nestabilities: long rectangles;  Martha Stewart: border punch;
Other: Ribbons; rose charm; Hero Arts: collage flowers; Large gem brad; beads and spacers; glossy accents; 3D foam;

 Craft Stamper Magazine, Sneak peek....

I'm in this month’s craft stamper magazine WOO HOO (thank you Katy) with a 3 ways with... 'die cuts' article and believe me three ways just isn't enough Hahaha! I think I must use die cutting for every card I make and if I haven't die cut a piece of paper in a day I think there's something I'm missing lol! I've tried to incorporate as many different ways within the three as possible. I have created stamps by die cutting in funky foam, stamped onto die cuts, I’ve die cut a mask, acetate, grunge board, grunge paper, chip board, double-sided adhesive sheet, shrink plastic oh and paper tee hee! I hope you find it enjoyable and inspiring! Click the side picture to take you to the website!

I wish you all a very special Easter, well it's finished now but I’ve had a busy, busy week, Friday was Maoleidigh's 2nd birthday and we had a day full of visitors and she had the best time! With HUGE homemade chocolate birthday cake and so many beautiful gifts which would fill another room lol! Then Saturday we went visiting for the day ourselves and had fun catching up with my sister who we haven't seen since November! It was wonderful to see her again, a bit like a wonderful Christmas day! So after a tiring day and a special Easter egg hunt planned on Sunday I knew she would be a little worn but it wasn't until after breakfast she came out in spots yes she has the chicken pox and they're everywhere, my poor little soul, on her eyelids and covering her face and all over scalp, they're also on her bottom and vagina too! It's so painful to see them spread so quickly, my brave little girl, so looks like we're staying in until nursed to recovery :)

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Easter, BiG HuGs Kim :)

Oh, Alice - CHAPTER 3: Painting the Roses Red...

Good Morning, well I thought I would take part in the fabulous colour inspiration challenge over at Oh, Alice...

CHAPTER 3: Painting the Roses Red
"Would you tell me please," said Alice a little timidly, "Why are you painting those roses?"
Five and Seven said nothing, but looked at Two. Two began in a low voice, "Why the fact is, you see, Miss, this here ought to have been a Red rose tree, and we put a white one in by mistake"...

Painting the Roses RED...and blue...and purple.... the colours in the inspiration picture. I have used Dawns  fab sketch from ICS as the base of my card. I've tried to keep it clean and simple :) Still loving the creepy cakes LOL! I thought I would use every red marker in my collection for her hair, mad hey? A few fiddly bits to cut out though! I also had a go at my own pearly swirl thank you to Elaine from Quixotic for the flat backed pearls in my prize goodies :)

Supplies: Patterned Paper: BasicGrey: Sugar rush;
Stamps: TGF: Creepy Cakes; Amelia & Oliver sentiment;
Ink: Printer; archival: black; Copic: markers*;
Dies: Cuttlebug: embossing folder; MS: border punch;
Other: Prima paper roses; flat backed pearls; 3D foam;

*Skin: E000, 21,13 & RV10, Hair: R14, 24, 29, 37, 39, 46, 59,  Outfit: E50, 53, B93, 95, 97, FV2 and I use my colourless Blender throughout.

Thank you for stopping by, BiG HuGs Kim :)

BasicGrey Challenges - Colour combo 4

So you've probably notice a slight change on the blog look? what do you think I've been needing a bit of a facelift for some time... I've updated a few bits and bobs but still working on a few changes as I go...
On to the important part of my post... It's time for a fun Basic Grey challenge....

and Martine has inspired us with a fabulous colour combo for Basic Grey challenges and I decided to go for a spring easter card using one of Amy's adorable baby bunny's... SOOooo CUTE!!!
I have coloured with my copics and used my blender to really wash the shadow around the bunny! With nib to nib technique (if that makes sense). The tail I have finished with a little fun flock, well..... it just HAD to be done tee hee.
So, instead of grass I went for a little flower garden with some fluttering butterflies!

Supplies: Patterned Paper: BG: urban prairie; textured cardstock;
Stamps: Sweet November: Babybunnychick; sentiment;
Ink: Printer; black; Copic: markers;
Die's: Sizzix: branch & Flower's; Nestabilities: Label;
MS: border & butterfly punches;
Other: adhesive stones; fun flock; John Lewis: ribbon; 3D foam;

Thanks for stopping by and I will be back later with a card I've created for the fabulous sketch over at Club Anya and Friends blog...
BiG HuGs have a wonderful fun weekend!!! Kim :)

Basic Grey Challenges - Sketch and Copic Creations.

Now onto my second post today... phew, please scroll down to see my Craft Stamper magazine post too :)
Well Martine has provided us with a fabulous sketch for Basic Grey challenges and I decided to combine my card with the Copic Creation challenge #21 feather Blending too...
Amy has wow'd us again with her magical pen skills and I could not resist her adorable sprite called Darby!!!
So, realised I feather blend my copic markers for nearly all my character's hair so found this quite an easy technique. I wanted a soft fairytale like colour scheme although I think it's VERY on the pink side... I blended the colours on her dress, (as I couldn't find my masking fluid I went over the dots with my colourless blender) her sprite boots and the little flower.
Also I have given my little sprite a generous spraying of glimmer mist as you can NEVER have enough spritely glittery magic, tee hee! You can probably see it better by clicking on the close up!

Supplies: Patterned Paper: BG: Porcelain; PTI: Kraft; Stamps: Sweet November: Darby; PTI: sentiment; Ink: Printer; Archival: black; Copic: markers; Tattered Angels: glimmer mist; Die's: Sizzix: Flower dasiy's; frame; Cuttlebug: scallop circle; Other: Zva: adhesive pearls; BG: buttons; Foof a la: buttons; John Lewis: ribbon; Lace; 3D foam;
Thanks for stopping by and hoping to have more to post Monday, if you have the chance there's a fabulous sketch over at Club Anya and Friends blog too... BiG HuGs have a wonderful fun weekend!!! Kim :)

Hope you get the chance to join in and pop to TGF Blog for your free Prince Ian Digi :)

The Greeting Farm sketch(s) #4 & #5

So continuing with the TGF's 12 Days of Sketches!...

I did do yesterday's 12days sketch but I just couldn't bring myself to post it, I really am not pleased with it (OK you can scroll down to see it...ROTFL!), I think I was feeling too tired and just plonked the elements on but I've made one for today's sketch which I am much happier about...

I went for an old black and white photo effect and coloured her in greys and stood in a little wild garden... I tore round the edge using my ruler and scrunched the image up 'arrghhh' but fun and inked all over with some distress inks!

I've added pearls to represent the extra rectangular layer. LOVE this elastic ribbon... how fun with it's little frilly bit?

Supplies: Patterned Paper: October Afternoon; Stamps: TGF; Izzy; PTI: sentiment; Ink: memento: black; Copics: markers; archival: black; Tim Holtz: distress inks; Die's: Spellbinders: circles; MS: border punch; Other: Prima: paper rose; frilly ribbon; Zva: adhesive pearls; 3D foam;

So Here's the other one tee hee I had coloured the fabulous Edward ages ago and decided to use him...

As you can see I have turned the sketch on it's side.
I think this may have been card attempt number three too, just a bad cardmaking day!!! Oooh Jo will be happy... hey hun this is the bad one...LOL!
I have coloured Edward in copics and covered his skin in Spica glitter marker... so he sparkles just like he does in the sun! Not much else going for it really a few plonked papers LOL!

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Sassafras: Core'dinations: Black Magic; Stamps: TGF; Digi Edward; Ink: printer: black; Copics: markers; Other: 3D foam;

Wow Christmas Eve eve how fun hope you're all very excited like the little ones and ready for lots of fun festivities with family and friends... I'm not very organised and have yet to wrap anything... considering I've been waiting for a parcel to arrive that I ordered on the 13th from the Early Learning Centre... Not a happy bunny with that company and now have to go into town tomorrow and re buy everything... (fingers crossed they have it all) OK... Enough of a rant and moan. I wish each and everyone a special Christmas although I hope to post another message tomorrow so until then Big Happy Christmassy HuGs Kim :)

The Greeting Farm ~ 12 Days of Sketches #2

Each day a different sketch is posted, and you can also find a place to upload them in the TGF GALLERIA, today is SKETCH #2 by Mercy!

So continuing with the TGF's 12 Days of Sketches! Today's card is for my OH as we have a little anniversary coming up. I have used this really old paper, it was in fact the very first BasicGrey collection I ever bought and still have tons left LOL!
The flower has been cut directly from the patterned paper and represents the strip across the middle. I have stamped the sentiment on but it's a little hard to read. Me heart is yours ~ It reminds me of 'Pirates of the Caribbean'. Long time ago I had hair so red and long and of course my OH remembers this... You might just be able to see the glittery shimmer over the fairy too, try clicking on the picture to enlarge.
The wings I went for a mottled effect using my colourless blender to move the colours around. Well I hope he likes and already looking forward to their next sketch on Monday!

Supplies: Patterned Paper: BasicGrey: Stamps: TGF: spring fairy (digi); Matey: sentiment; Ink: printer & archival: black; Copics: markers; Other: American Crafts: velvet ribbon; BasicGrey: ribbon; Glimmer Mist: 3D foam;

Thanks for stopping by, HuGs Kim :)

It has been an amazing week of previews and sneak peeks I hope you have enjoyed looking at all the amazing creations from the Club Anya Team 02. I have certainly had a blast and thought I would show you a few more samples...

I wanted to complete the set really and have made a pillow box envelope to hold my swing card as it's quite thick with layers. I'm very pleased with how it turned out and it's so much easier then making a box too! I have used the template and Greeting farm digi papers again (find the links here) I have sealed the ribbon at the back with a digi sticker how cute? You will have to forgive the terrible photos the weather here is blistery and it gets dark before tea urghh....

What sweet retreat wouldn't be complete without a little box of chocs? yummo!!! I have simply made a pizza box and cut a window, sealed with a little acetate left from the card and I have used the gorgeous me time stamp set to embellish the outside. Click thumbnails to enlarge.
