Just Because ~ I Miss You ♥

♥ Hello, so happy to have you visit ♥
we have a new challenge over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog today,
and here's my fun, very quick to make, faux embossed style card.
I love to combine my older stamps with the newer stamps and dies and give them a refresh.
By passing the hands die through twice I cut 24 hands so, plenty to create a faux embossed background on my card. I arranged them as randomly as I could and then enhanced them with a little metal effect edges using sizzix luster wax.
The sentiment I have heat embossed in gold powder on some acetate and fussy cut with an extended band so I had something to adhere to the card.

and I would love to enter my project to these wonderful challenges too...

Introducing ~ Paperbabe Stamps November Release

Good morning, have you like me been hiding indoors with all the freaky hail stones this month?
Today over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog we are introducing new Stamps and Mixed Media Templates.

This is the 3/4 view version of the dinky female face, the perfect pose for so many projects. I think most portraits have the face slightly angled, it shows a lovely natural look. I have been really looking forward to showing these off!!!

Here's goes, onto some samples...
This card features the whimsical waves, so flowy, inspired by my original drawing of Maoleidigh. I opted for copics onto kraft cardstock, it's a bit of a hit and miss with the colours showing up but I do love the finished look.
Copics List ~ Face: E0000, 00, 04, 31, R00, 02, RV91, B60. Eyes: B01, N3, W8. Hair: BV23, V12, 15.
I die cut an oval from a sheet of mylar, to use as a stencil to create this oval for her to sit in. I decided to have some of her hair falling out of the frame.
The background I used the yummiest of Spica copic pens, in mint, love the look.
It's hard to see but I went around the edge in gold ink, it's much more noticeable in real life.

Next...
I love this micro fringe, reminds me of the very elegant Audrey Hepburn or more funky like Uma Thurman (pulp fiction) or Audrey Tautou (Amélie)
The weather did not help photo taking this week... I used a grey tone for her skin, wanted that pencil look, not sure it is showing like that in the photos though.
I have heat embossed the crown in gold embossing powder to hide the big blobs of copic ink that decided to drop onto my project. I think you can just see two funny blobs behind the crown, but I guess you probably won't have seen it unless I said anything lol. The template is perfect to mask my girl ready for some background stamping using the isometric fun stamp set with a few features gold embossed too.

And last project for today anyway...
I've been enjoying making myself these large stickers, they're a great little project, they can be any size really, you could make just heads or add torso's and have fun with experimenting with colours too. Plus they can be used in your planner or art journal, mixed media creations whenever they're needed.
Here is the messy buns template, the 'bun' is separate so you can add as many or as few as you wish, or add them to some other hairstyle. It's completely up to your creative imagination.
I've used it with the cute pixie ear face stamp. I chose to use my copics with a darker skin palette,
Copic List ~ Face: YR31, E21, 25, 27, 59. Hair: W10, E49. The sticker paper doesn't do very well with blending, but a reasonable result, they're still very addictive!

Do visit the rest of the team to see their amazing creations...

Thanks so much for stopping by,
Enjoy a wonderfully creative day ♥ and
hope to see you tomorrow for more introductions...

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #100 ~ Theme ~ GOLD

Hello, hope you're enjoying a typically wet summer hols like we are lol...
if you're having an indoor kinda day what a perfect time to get all your gold crafting materials out and join in our current challenge on the paperbabe stamps blog...
I treated my self to this fabulous journal cover die and had to try it out, obviously...
I've die cut the cover in watercolour paper, hot press so the smooth version.
The background was created with a few distress oxides through the pebble rows stencil. The colour was a bit darker than I had planned so I brayered some white gesso all over to soften and knock back the colour.
When the gesso layer was dry I used the dotty stencil with transparent embossing paste which I then covered with gold embossing powder as I didn't have the gold embossing paste I thought I had... and heat set until all the powder had melted.
So, I had drawn and stamped the front with the dinky female face and long loose wave hair, but when I went to add copic to her face it did not take well, the gesso was coming off on my pen nib and so I had to ditch that idea and move to recreating her onto a sticker sheet, which worked out alright although the sticker paper doesn't hold copic ink as well as bristol, well we have to try don't we? I painted her hair with deco art black acrylic paint.
I finished off my cover with gold embossed roses and leaves. I used some tissue paper I had lying around but it didn't disappear as much as I had hoped... Keeping with the 'gold' theme I have covered the inside with gold glitter paper.
I added a layer of matt medium over the front cover to help seal everything and give the whole thing a uniform finish. I haven't come up with a closure yet, I'm tempted to use a hidden magnet so that the front stays as it is.

I also want to enter this into a few other challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by it's so wonderful to think we've reached our hundredth challenge, couldn't have done it with out you all ♥

Paperbabe Stamps June release Blog Hop ~ Surprise Box

Welcome to our June release Blog hop...
everyone is loving the new stamps and templates, as of course am I.
This smaller size can fit in all sorts of projects, I have so many ideas.

Onto my little project...
After I painted the mdf in a couple of coats in prussian blue, I then heat embossed the face and neck in gold powder and with the wonderful perfect medium pen I used the templates to draw the hair, and set the embossing powder for each step. Love the contrast of colours...
Tada I bet you weren't expecting this to be a box...
...you see I had the idea of paper piecing this hairstyle but needed something to hold the dimension and ended up laser cutting myself this box frame based on the MDF ornate frame.
I've used distress papers for all the solid colours and some vintage pattern K&Co paper for her clothing.
I stamped the face in distress oxides so that it wouldn't be too dark on the papers, I have used coloured pencils to add shade to her face and skin and a black pen to bring her eyes and lashes alive.
I edged the inside of the frame with gold ink to coordinate with the embossing on the lid. I certainly had much fun creating this, I love that it can be hidden back inside it's box, good to protect the papers I guess.

Here's the hop line up...

And there's prizes too...
Thanks for visiting, hope you feel inspired,
Enjoy a wonderfully creative day

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #40 ~ Picture Inspiration

Good Morning...

Today, I have a card to share that I made for the current challenge over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog...
It's a picture inspiration and just perfect with our last release...
I created a small layered card, I am enjoying this small card size, I have a theory that these little ones would most likely be placed right at the front of all the other cards on the mantle or window sill... lol that's my reasoning.
For my background, it was a simple heat embossing through the polka dot stencil, it's much quicker than stamping the rows of polka dots, not that I mind that really.
The mini shroom scene inspired from the picture was a bit of stamping and masking using the Whimsical woodland set 4 and Whimsical Woodland set 3.
I finished off my card with a little gold ink on the smile word substrate. If you ever want a gorgeous yummy shimmery gold ink then I highly recommend this liquid metal stuff... yum.

I actually combined a few other challenges on my mini card...
