Happy Birthday ~ Dad

Thanks for visiting...
I hope you enjoyed a lovely Bank holiday ♥ our week was busy with May fair, and I just got the chance to get into my craft area for the new anything goes challenge on the blog today...
I created a masculine card using the wonderfully muted tones of the Vintage doll patterned papers, along with the Birthday Wishes stamp set.
The animal print patterned paper can be embellished with the same stamp image in this die set as they are the same scale, great for adding a metallic effect with embossing powder.
The DAD sentiment was such a fun element to create, I thought I would try die cutting some frosted acetate to get a floating look and I've added some patterned papers to the letters only. To get the added shadow I've die cut the same letters in adhesive black foam and only applied it behind the paper letters to achieve a neat dimensional look.

and I would love to enter my project to these wonderful challenges too...

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #101 ~ Sketch

Good morning, thank you so much for stopping by, less than a week left until school starts, it will be the first time for my lovely dd.

We have a new challenge on the paperbabe stamps blog today...
My interpretation of the sketch may seem a tad loose, a little artistic licence but all the fun for it! and this is great for a man's card.
So the fabulous fox is in place of the circle. The background was a fun experiment with the Iso Fun and Dots on stripes stencils, I blended some distress oxides ~ mermaid lagoon, pine needles and mowed lawn. I then switched to black soot distress ink through the Iso Fun stencil.
I used wedding dress white memento luxe through the dots part of the stencil to create a bit of a bokeh effect, and added a few rings with a bottle lid and stamped some hearts. The sentiment was from the same stamp set, settled upon the yummy impresslit border die that I treated myself too.

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #32 ~ Birthdays!

Good Morning,

We have a lovely challenge over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog today one we all get to celebrate...

I created a birthday card for my dad, who's birthday is tomorrow the day after mine, lol.
I've used the DesignA Tweed builder set to create the fabric texture and trimmed the cardstock to match the sketch.
The background is die cut tools out of kraft card to look like faux embossing, so fun!
the Birthday wishes stamp set I have heat embossed in gold for the sentiment.

Paperbabe Stamps ~ Male Face and Mixed media Templates Mini version

Morning! It's the Queen's 90th birthday today...
Happy Birthday!!!
and we are showcasing the new mini manly face stamps and mixed media templates over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog today...

Are you ready for my fun bright project?...
I thought I would try this technique again but with the male version, how fun would the two work together?

It was created using the mini male head and torso with Pompadour mixed media templates and the mini male face stamp set.
I simply drew my man first in pencil following the template steps, I've hand drawn a very simple shirt. I stamped his face and ears in black ink before colouring the image using copics.

I've used Pop dots stamp set for the texture, they were stamped using distress inks, it worked so well.  I masked the different areas using mostly the template parts before stamping the polks dots.
Then I went around all the pencil lines with my black posca pen, you can very easily reposition the templates and use them again. I thickened some of the pen lines for shadows and added quite a few to his hair. I then fussy cut him out and mounted on a simple background.

Now you've seen my fun comic style why not pop by the rest of the amazing team's fabulous projects...

Thank you very much for stopping by,
I hope you will return tomorrow to see my step by step video!!!

Enjoy a wonderfully creative day!

It's Been a While... No time to Blog Just CREATE!!!

Guess who's a guest tutorial author on Splitcoast Stampers.....

I Know...

SO....
A while back, the very talented Beate from Splitcoaststampers offered me the chance to do a tutorial on SCS. Imagine my surprise, of course I jumped at the opportunity & finally today is the day...
 It goes live! Yippee!!!

You may remember the original Steampunk Top Hat I made way back here?

This is a spookier variation using the same template you can find a copy here or here...

NOW EVEN BETTER then that is I managed to create a video tutorial... ok three videos, I really struggle to create these my editing is non existent and forget working out the voice over bit, I was seriously happy to find I can just add music over it!!! Then I've simply added notes for the actual steps lol! I hope you enjoy and it's not too long winded... any feedback would be great!

I really like this latest version can suit all those difficult males in our lives LOL!!! The book in the stand is still a working box so can hold some special keepsake!

I have one of these telephones in real life.. collecting dust now but it worked so well for ages. I've heat embossed the die cut with black powder yummy!!!

I would truly love to see any top hat makes out there... as for this little beauty, it will be up for sale very soon I will post the details then!

Thank you so much for stopping by,
Have a wonderfully creative day

Simon Says Stamp and Show Some Metal

It's MONDAY!!! which means, we have a new theme set at...

and this week is Some Metal!!!

Well, my first thought was of Steampunk when the theme was set for this weeks challenge.

I have created a picture frame with the wonderful small easel to help it stand and cut the opening using baroque die.

then with Mocha metal sheet embossed it with texture fades and used Ten Seconds Studio tools to create the decorative edge.

The front had a generous dab of paint dabber burnished in. The frame has been adorned with cut gadget gears enhanced with perfect pearls, a steampunk'd butterfly

plus a whole load of various pieces from Tim's Idea-ology range...
So check out the goodies at...
Photobucket
And then why not pop round to the rest of the team's stunning metal projects!!!
