Miniature Rose Tutorial
Today I have a card and a tutorial for you! I created this card using the Birds of a Feather set from Taylored Expressions. I used a quite a few dies on this card. I used the Birds and Branch Die set, the Picket Fence Border Die, the Grass Border Die and the Heart Border Die. You may be wondering where I used the Heart Border Die, and that's what the tutorial is for. I used the Heart Border Die to create those miniature roses on the card! They are super simple, so I hope you enjoy the video!
I stamped the bird cage and then cut it out and mounted it on the card. The die cut birds were sponged on the edges and added to the bird cage. The papers are from the Cherry Hill Collection from October Afternoon.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Birds of a Feather (Taylored Expressions); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine); Paper- Cherry Hill Collection (October Afternoon); Accessories- Birds and Branch Die Set, Picket Fence Border Die, Grass Border Die, Heart Border Die (Taylored Expressions); Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Holiday Blitz Tutorial
Want to make beautiful ornaments for your Christmas tree this year? Check out the tutorial I wrote for these Poinsettia Ornaments. I saw flowers made this way somewhere (can't remember where), so when Beate asked me to write a tutorial for the Holiday Blitz this year (thanks, Beate!) I thought using the flower idea and making poinsettias would be perfect. They really look beautiful with lights shining from behind. . .so imagine how they'd look on your lighted Christmas tree! Follow the link to check out the tutorial! Thanks for stopping by!

Tilt Card Tutorial
Here is a tutorial for the card from this post, just in case you missed it! :)
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
-paper cutter
-craft knife
-stamps of choice (here, Just So Hippy from GinaK Designs)
-cardstock
-2 pennies
-Stampin' Dimensionals
-scissors
-Aquapainter
-ink pads (here, Wild Wasabi and Palette Noir)
-adhesive
-embellishments as desired
Step 1
Ink up and stamp just the head of the hippo. (I tried stamping the whole body and then putting the "behind" on top, but it looked weird when the behind moved and there were still legs there) LOL.
Step 2
On a scrap piece of paper, ink up the whole hippo and stamp. Cut out just the "behind".
Step 3
On the piece of cardstock that just has the hippo's head, use your craft knife to cut out a square big enough for a dimensional to fit through, leaving a little space on each side. Attach dimensional to penny, then put penny behind cardstock with dimensional coming through cut square.
Step 4
Peel off backing and attach another penny on top of dimensional to form your "penny sandwich". (the third photo is a side view so you can see the pennies on either side of the cardstock)
Step 5
Color the hippo.
Step 6
Attach the hippo's behind on top of the penny. Once attached, tilt the piece from side to side to see that it works. If the hippo's behind doesn't tilt, try cutting the square a little bigger so the penny sandwich has a little room to move. Be careful not to cut the hole too big. . . unless you want the behind to spin around, that is!
Step 7
When you're happy with how the piece tilts, flip the whole piece over and apply dimensionals to the four corners. You want the penny sandwich to have room to move, so you don't want it to touch the card base.
Step 8
Apply mattes, embellishments and sentiment to finish card!
Hope that all made sense and that you had fun! I'd LOVE to see any "tilt cards" that you make! Be sure and post a link for me!

Scrapbook in a Box Tutorial
Supplies Needed:
-11 1/4" square of double sided cardstock
-9 3/4" square of double sided cardstock
-11 1/4" square of double sided cardstock
-9 3/4" square of double sided cardstock
-8 1/4" square of double sided cardstock
-5 7/8" square of double sided cardstock
-paper trimmer with scoring blade
-scissors
-sticky tape
-ribbon and any other embellishments of choice
Step 1
Step 2
Score the 9 3/4" square piece of cardstock at 3 1/4" on all sides.
Step 3
Step 4
Score the 5 7/8" square piece of cardstock at 1" on all sides.
Step 5
Cut off the four corners on your three biggest pieces of cardstock (11 1/4", 9 3/4", and 8 1/4" squares) so that each piece now looks like a cross or plus sign.
Step 6
Apply sticky tape to the back side of the middle squares of the 9 3/4" and 8 1/4" crosses, peel off backing and adhere them on top of each other (largest to smallest).
Step 7
Now for your lid. Take your 5 7/8" square piece of cardstock and cut slits on two sides at the score line.
Step 8
Apply sticky tape to the "tabs" you've made. (Make sure you apply it to the side of paper that you want to show on the outside of the box).
Step 9
Fold up lid sides and attach tabs to the inside of the sides.
Step 10
Fold up your sides of the "scrapbook" and put the lid on top.
Now you know how to make your scrapbook in a box. Fill it with pictures and/or journaling and embellishments of your choice, tie it up with a ribbon and you've got a wonderful gift for someone special!
