Tagged!

I was tagged by my sweet friend Christie. Here are the details:

1. Navigate to where you keep your pictures, select the 6th folder, and the 6th picture in that folder.
2. Post the picture on your blog, with an explanation of the story behind the picture

Well, when I saw Christie's picture of her laundry room I thought "oh gosh, what might MY 6th picture of my 6th folder be". . .so I just had to find out! LOL Thankfully, it was a picture of my kids with my sister-in-law. I can't believe how much younger the kids look. . .and Arwen with her binky! That was such an IMPORTANT part of who she was, so when she gave it up without any problem, I was amazed. Now it's so weird to see her with it! Too funny how you get used to certain things and forget that they used to be different. Anyway, this picture was a day at my mother-in-law's house.

I think I'm also supposed to tag people to do this same thing, but I've seen this tag on so many blogs now that I don't even know who has been tagged and who hasn't. So, if you're reading this post and would like to play along, let me know when you post your picture to YOUR blog so I can come check out your 6th picture! Have a great day!

Happy Mail and Awards

This beautiful card showed up in my mailbox the other day! It's from Dori, or StampinGHmom. She just wanted to send a thank you for leaving comments on her blog. . .how very sweet! Thank YOU, Dori for visiting and for this beautiful card. You totally made me smile!

I've also been given some awards that I wanted to acknowledge.

I was awarded the Brilliante Award by Linsey a while ago, but never got around to posting it. THANK YOU, Lindsey! Linsey is such a sweetheart and extremely talented too! Make sure you go and check out her fabulous blog!

The second award came from Shannon over at Hoppy Creations. Shannon and I have chatted back and forth for the past several months. She is such a darling and always makes such BEAUTIFUL things! I LOVE visiting her blog. Thanks, Shannon, for this award. . .I really appreciate it!

Last, but not least, I received the I Love Your Blog Award from Jaci at Scrap Jaci Scrapbooking. WOW, I love finding new blogs and meeting new readers like this! Thank you, Jaci, for visiting and for letting me know you love my blog. . .you totally made my day! Now I have a new blog to visit! :)

I'm supposed to nominate people for each of these awards. I couldn't possibly decide who should get which award. There are so many blogs that I visit that deserve each of these awards. . .if they haven't been awarded them already. You can visit any of the blogs in my sidebar, as they are all blogs that I enjoy visiting and think are super!

Tags

I was tagged by Barbara Jean Smith of My Pink Pajamas. . .Late Night Stampin' and Scrappin'. Thanks for the tag, Barbara! Here are my 7 random facts:

1. I am the oldest of 6 children. . .my parents were each one of 10 children, so I come from a very large family!
2. Charmaine is actually my middle name. Patricia, which is my first name is a family name and my mother didn't think Charmaine Patricia sounded right. . .so I've always been called Charmaine.
3. My nickname, given to me by my grandma before I was born, is Charlie.
4. When I was little I dreamed of being a ballerina. Everything started off so well with dance lessons and performances and then I turned 16 and developed breasts and hips. . .so musical theater was the next best thing! :)
5. I did not get married until I was 29.
6. When a friend approached me the first time about stamping, my response was "oh no, not me. I don't do crafts!" Now she is my upline! LOL
7. When I drive in the car, I rarely EVER listen to music or the radio. I think it's because it's the only peace and quiet I get in a day!

The second tag I received, I received 5 times over! WOW! I was tagged by Amy, Tina, Tonniece, Maria and Pauline. Thanks, girls! I really appreciate that! I have no idea who has already received this award or not, so I'll just pick 7 of my favorite blogs!

Blogging With a Purpose Award

I received this award from my sweet friend Donna at Serenity in Stamping and from a new, sweet friend, Kim Evans from Stampin' With Kim. How very sweet are they both? I am honored that they would award this to me! Now comes the part I don't like. . .awarding it to others. I just don't like it because I hate to leave anyone out and there are SO MANY of you who deserve this award. So, I'm going to go about it in a different way. There are a few blogs that I visit that don't just have "eye candy", but actually share a lot of themselves and their thoughts. They really make me think or make me aware of things that I didn't know about. I award this to:

Julie Desper at Need To Stamp- Julie keeps up with a lot of blogs about Hodgkins Disease, being a survivor herself. She has really shed some light on a subject about which I know very little, and is such an inspiration. She also creates BEAUTIFUL cards! Stop and say hello to Julie!

Linda MacDonald at MacDonald Clan- Linda and I "met" through blogging and a common interest in music. Linda's blog is FULL of adorable stories about her children, comments on current and personal events and even some stamping, scrapbooking and other crafts. I always enjoy stopping by her blog. . .you will too!

Allison Fillo at Stampin When I Can- Allison is just amazing with all of the information she shares. I don't know where she finds all the time. . .and creates beautiful things on top of that! Go check her out if you haven't already!

You Make My Day!

I received the You Make My Day Award from Samantha at Fun With Paper and Diane at My Little Stampin' Spot. WOW, thank you guys! Not to be redundant, but it makes MY day that I make your day! LOL So many of you make my day. I love it when you stop by and especially when you say hello! It's nice to know you're out there! :) I'm supposed to award this to people who make my day, but the list is TOO long! If you're reading this, then you KNOW you make my day because you've stopped by for a visit. Thanks for taking time to stop by and Make My Day!

Art & More Award

This past week, I was awarded the Arte Y Pico (Art & More) Award by Samantha Esqueda at Fun With Paper. It is given to bloggers who share their art and creativity making their contribution to the blogging world. Wow, thank you, Samantha!

Here are the rules:

1. You have to pick five blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also contribute to the blogging community, no matter what language.
2. Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone
3. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and the link to the blog that has given her or him the award itself
4. Award-winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of Arte y Pico blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award.

This is tough because I love SO MANY blogs! I'm going to randomly pick 5 from my Google Reader. I KNOW you will enjoy all of them!

A Question and a Thanks

I just wanted to answer a question here that was left as a comment since there was no email or link to get back to Wanda. Wanda asked:

wanda has left a new comment on your post "Tilt Card Tutorial": I'm lost, or missed something. If you want it to tilt, why not just cut it out and use a dimensional to slightly tilt it? Or, is it suppose to move slightly?Love this hippo, and the giraffe in this set; had to purchase it.

Wanda, I know it's easy to miss with a still picture, but the hippo's hips actually move when you tilt the card to the right or to the left. (it's not permanently tilted one way) If you've seen a spinner card where the image "spins" across the card, this is similar except that the "track" isn't as long, so the image will only rock or "tilt" back and forth instead of spin. I hope I've explained it better. Let me know! :)

I wanted to thank Linda who left me a comment on yesterday's Anything But a Card post telling me that I can purchase battery-operated votive and tealight candles through OrientalTrading.com! That is VERY good to know! I will definitely check that out for my Verve Butterfly lamp! Thank you so much, Linda! Edited to add: For anyone who might be looking for the battery operated tealights, you can find them HERE.

I received this award from Kylie over at Krafty Kylie! Wow, thanks, Kylie! How very sweet of you! Be sure and check out Kylie's blog. She is very talented! I am supposed to give this award to 10 other people. I can't believe I have to narrow my list down to 10, but I pass this award along to: Joanne, Michelle, Alex, Jillian, Jana, Christie, Julie Desper, Julie Masse, Lorie, and Jenn. Hopefully, none of you have received the award yet, but if you have then realize that I SECOND the first vote! LOL

You Make My Day!

Cassandra Larson of For the Art of It tagged me yesterday with the "You Make My Day" Award. Wow, you really made MY day, Cassandra! Thank you! So many of you make my every day when you stop by! Since having Isaac, my time for blog reading is very short. It's getting better, and each day I try to find more time. Someone asked me recently if I visit and leave comments on blogs of people who have left comments for me. The answer is yes, I do! I used to do it more before baby #3, but lately I haven't been able to do it as much as I would like. This particular person didn't leave a link or an email address to contact them, so hopefully they will see this post or perhaps I have recently visited their blog as I have been trying to visit some new blogs each day. I just want you all to know how much I appreciate you! I'm supposed to tag a couple of people and "Make Their Day". I choose Deborah and Lorie. So, go make somebody's day girls! Hugs!

Another Tag!

I was tagged a couple of weeks ago by Sherrie at Card Creme. I forgot all about it until now!

So here are the questions/answers:

1. if you could have 100.00 worth of scrapbook paper or assorted embellishments, which would you choose? I would have to say scrapbook paper. . .I can't seem to resist paper!

2. If you had to choose between using only stamps or rubons, which would you choose? Definitely STAMPS!

3. If you knew how to do both awesome cards and layouts but could only do one for a whole year...which would you do? My first answer would be cards because I LOVE making them, but I have to say layouts because I am TERRIBLY behind in my scrapbooking!

4. Would you rather own a scrapbooking store or have your own scrapping room at home...(can't have both he he he)I think I'd have to go with my own scrapping room at home. As nice as a scrapbooking store would be. . .there's the paperwork of running a store that would go with it! I'd rather have that time to create!

5. And last but not least, what is your CURRENT cardmaking or scrapping style....I have no idea! I don't know what my "style" is at all. I know what I like ("Cutesy"), but is that a style?

An Award!

A couple of weeks ago, I was nominated by Abi at Musings from Tenerife for the "You Make Me Smile Award". Thank you, Abi! I'm so glad that I could make you smile! I'm supposed to nominate 10 people who make me smile. Hmmmm. . .there are so many people who make me smile in a day and a lot of them don't have blogs to "tag". All of YOU who visit make me smile daily with your sweet comments and support! So, if you're reading this post, know that YOU MAKE ME SMILE!

Tagged!

I have been tagged a few times lately and have been very bad about keeping up with it. Here's one tag, and I'll have to find the others and post later! :)

I was tagged the other day by Julie at Stampin With Julie!! So here goes:

1. Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog. You all know how much I LOVE Julie and love to visit her blog. If you haven't by now, you should go check it out!
2. Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself (on your blog, we all want to know them).

Tagged Again!

I was tagged by Anna at Paper Posies, Monika at M.A.D. Stamper and Tara at Tara's Paper Crafts. A couple of these tags go back a while, so I'm REALLY behind. Once I got my third tag, I thought I'd better get on the ball! You are to list 7 random facts about yourself. I did this tag a while ago, but it sure is fun to find out random things about other stampers, don't you think? Here's my list:

1. I come from a very large family. I am the oldest of 6, and my parents are each one of 10 children.

2. I am a very quiet person and am uncomfortable starting a conversation most of the time. Once I get started, though, I'm just fine! :) Odd for someone who has spent their life in theater, huh?

3. I am now pregnant with baby #3! (over half way through, in fact!) And we just found out it's a BOY!

4. It drives me NUTS to be home a lot. I like to go go go. . .whether it be to visit family or friends(both which I do often) or go to the park. I get really bored if I'm home a lot.

5. My family nickname given to me by my grandma (before I was even born) is Charlie. My grandma's from the south, so she pronounces it "Chah-lie" with that southern drawl. Most of my friends call me Charlie too because I lived with my grandparents when I went to college, and when my friends would call, they'd get a real kick out of my grandma calling "Chah-lie, telephone!"

6. Charmaine is actually my middle name! My first name is Patricia (just like my mom and grandma). My mom didn't think it sounded right Charmaine Patricia, so she named me Patricia Charmaine, but I've always been called Charmaine formally.

7. Unlike most women, I HATE clothes shopping. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for craft shopping! :)

Rockin' Girl Blogger

I was given the great honor of being nominated for Rockin' Girl Blogger by Flo at Flossie's Follies and Julee and Poetic Artistry! What a wonderful thing! That is just so cool of them to think of me when deciding who to nominate! :) Thanks girls! Now I'm supposed to nominate 5 people. Hmmmm. . . .
1. Melissa at Simply Pink
5. Angie at Quacking Creations
There are so many blogs that I visit daily and that inspire me daily, it's hard to choose just five! Yikes!

Tagged!

I have been tagged by Julie (Stampin with Julie)and Rita (L8ybug Stamper). In this game, I tell you 7 things about myself that you might not know and then I tag 7 other bloggers who can play if they want to! Let's see:

1. I come from a very large family. I am the oldest of 6, and my parents are each one of 10 children.
2. I have spent most of my life as a musical theatre performer having graduated from Point Park University with a B.F.A. in Musical Theater. I traveled A LOT from national tours to regional theaters to working on a cruise ship.
3. I am now pregnant with baby #3!
4. When my very good friend Kathy approached me the first time about stamping or having a stamping party I said "Me? No, I don't stamp. Crafts are not my thing." She got me to try it ONCE and I was at Michael's that night buying stuff! LOL Now she is my upline!
5. My husband and I met in a Big Band show we were doing together. He was the MC (or bandleader) and I was one of the U.S.O. girls (think Andrews Sisters).
6. I strongly dislike mushrooms!!
7. My favorite type of food is Mexican.

Okay, now to tag 7 people. Hmmmm. . . .Jami Speidel, Pam Speidel, Barb, Beate, Ally, Jeanine, and Michelle. I don't think these people have been tagged yet. Check out their blogs if you'd like to see their answers! Have a great day!

I've Been Tagged!

Wow! I am absolutely flattered that I've been tagged by fellow bloggers Barb Kaszuba, Julie Masse, Michelle, Paris Otremba and Beate! I'm not exactly sure how this works. . .if I'm allowed to tag the people who tagged me or not, so we'll assume that I have to pick people other than who tagged me. (besides, it's so hard to choose!!!) I have to say though, that Paris' blog is one that I just found through her tagging me. . .and I'm so glad I did! I love to visit Barb's blog for her creations and because she has a great sense of humor and really makes me laugh! Julie makes such beautiful cards and is just a sweetheart! Michelle makes beautiful Bella cards (and other cards as well). She is one of the first people I met through blogging. Paris, as I said, I can't wait to continue visiting her blog! And Beate, she is just an awesome person. When I first starting my blog she really helped me out and has been VERY encouraging and full of support. . .and I just love EVERYTHING she makes! :)

Now to choose my 5 blogs to tag:

1. Jami Speidel- Crazy Daisy Creations. She makes the cutest cards and is just TOO CUTE herself! I think we both started our blogs at the same time and supported each other! I found her blog through her mother-in-law's blog and make next choice. . .
2. Pam Speidel- Stamping with {Serendipity}. Pam does a WONDERFUL job of coloring and doodling! I LOVE everything she does, but her coloring and doodling is my fave!
3. Angie Z- Quacking Creations. She is one of the people I envy because she can make those heavily embellished BEAUTIES that my brain can't handle! :) Her cards are just gorgeous!
4. Julee Tilman- Poetic Artistry. Another person I envy because she makes the kind of cards I just can't, but LOVE to admire! She also has fun sketch challenges and things like that too!
5. Julie Brooks- Julie. She makes a lot of wonderful cards and even has a wonderful store,
Doodliedoo,to sell some of the stuff she uses on her cards!

I'm sure if you visit any of the blogs above(both my pics and the ones who tagged me), you won't be disappointed!
