Ruff Day?

Here's a very simple card using an image that I think is just hilarious! It's from the Patterned Pets set by Inkadinkado. I paired it with a sentiment I created using the JustRite Harmony Rectanglar Stamper set with the Brayton Font. I just LOVE the sentiment with the dog's face. . .it makes me laugh! The patterned paper is from the Penny Lane Free Bird Paper Pack from My Mind's Eye. All of these products are available at Stamper's Dream.

If you're having a bad day today, hopefully this card will put a smile on your face too! Thanks for stopping by! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Patterned Pets (Inkadinkado), Harmony Rectangular Stamper with Brayton Font Set (JustRite); Ink- Burnt Umber (Palette); Paper- Penny Lane Free Bird (My Mind's Eye), Kraft (PTI); Accessories- paper piercer, Chocolate Chip markers (SU), button (Foof-a-la); Finished card measures 5.5"x4.25"

Fishy Tote

This was for yesterday's Technique Lover's Challenge on SCS, to create a Treat Purse. Since I made mine a little more "manly", I call it a treat tote! LOL I used the Patterned Pets set from Inkadinkado and some Penny Lane Freebird paper from My Mind's Eye. Both of these products are available at Stamper's Dream.

Instead of adding candy to my tote, I added Goldfish crackers. They are a favorite in this house! I think they'd even be great for a non-manly treat tote. . .I know my kids would LOVE a little treat like this! Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Patterned Pets (Inkadinkado), Very Punny (SU); Ink- Onyx Black (Versafine); Paper- Penny Lane Freebird (My Mind's Eye), Pure Poppy (PTI), Certainly Celery (SU); Accessories- Real Red, Certainly Celery markers (SU), red grosgrain and gingham(Darice), eyelets (Making Memories)

A Dreamy Challenge

This month's Dreamy Challenge at Stamper's Dream was to create a 3 degree monochromatic card. . .using a light, medium and dark of one color. I used all pink. The image is from the Butterfly Beauties set from Stampendous and the sentiment is from the Expressions set from Inkadinkado. . .both available at Stamper's Dream. The papers are all Pink Prismatics from Prism Papers, consisting of Iced Pink, Frosted Pink and Intense Pink.

We'd LOVE for you to play along! If you upload to SCS, please use keyword SDDC5. Michelle is offering some Dreamy Treats to a lucky winner, so be sure and link your creation to the comments section of Michelle's blog! Stop and see what the fabulous Dream Team has come up with for this sketch!

My Friend

Here's a funky little card using the Patterned Pets set from Inkadinkado paired with some of my favorite Basic Grey paper. You can find the stamps at Stamper's Dream! You'll love the funky patterns on the different "pets" in the set. . .they really are adorable! I stamped the turtle on the Basic Grey paper, cut it out and then added some white highlights. The sentiment is a stamp I found in the $1 bin at Michael's a long time ago. I thought it worked well for a fun little card. Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful day! You're Special

Have you seen these sweet Sarah Kay images from Stampavie? They are all just adorable. You can find lots of them at Stamper's Dream! This particular image is out of stock right now, but I know Michelle is expecting a new shipment very soon! I paired this image with a sentiment from the Expressions clear stamp set from Inkadinkado, also found at Stamper's Dream. The Cuttlebug folder is Birds and Swirls, which I thought went well with this image. I colored the image with Stampin' Up markers and watercolored a bit to give a softer look.

I'm running out the door right now, so I'll fill in more of the details on this card when I get back. Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great day!

A Dreamy Challenge

The Stamper's Dream Dream Team is excited to announce that they will be doing a Dreamy Challenge the second Thursday of every month. You can participate too! Just make a card with glitter on it, and link it to the comments section of Michelle's blog, and if you upload to Splitcoaststampers (we'd love to see it there too), just use keyword SDDC1. To make this challenge even sweeter, Michelle has some awesome Holiday goodies which she will be giving to a winner chosen by Random.org. This week we're working with a new product by Doodlebug that Michelle just started carrying!! Glitter is so popular right now, and so fun to use, so we're using the Doodlebug product called "Stick With It". It's two sheets of double-sided adhesive shapes. The one we're using is called "Fancy That" and it's full of swirls and sentiments. All you do is peel off the shape (making sure to keep the top protective strip in place) and lay the shape where you would like to feature it on your card or project. As soon as you have your design laid out, peel off the protective strip and apply your Doodlebug Sugar Coating glitter, rubbing over it with your fingers to make sure it adheres well. Doodlebug has a fabulous line of Sugar Coating Glitter, with a variety of colors, that each of the Design Team members is using. For my card, I used one of the flourishe adhesives and a little flower (that's on the moon). I also ran the scalloped piece of cardstock through my Xyron and added glitter to that too.

A little tip: After you adhere your double sided adhesive to your project, before removing the protective tape, rub your embossing buddy over the paper. That will help to keep the excess glitter from sticking. After removing the tape and applying the glitter, flip the paper over and flick it with your finger a few times. That should also help to remove the glitter without it blowing up into your face. So, check out the Stamper's Dream DT's blogs to see the different ways this product can be used!!

Be Inspired #20

Another fabulous inspiration piece from Beate! I went pretty literal on this one, other than for the image. I sponged stripes on the Red Riding Hood cardstock with Red Riding Hood ink, but I'm not sure how well you can see that in the picture. I used the Winter Birds set from Inkadinkado (found at Stamper's Dream) and a sentiment from the SU set Warm Words. The Summer Sunrise piece was "distressed" a bit with a black ink pad. Finally I used some Stardust Stickles on the bird's wings and some Christmas Red Stickles on the berries.

Be sure to see what Beate, Danielle Lounds, Dawn McVey, Jennifer Buck, Silke Ledlow and Susan Roberts have come up with for this challenge! I'm sure they will all be wonderful! Thanks for stopping by! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Winter Birds (Inkadinkado), Warm Words (SU); Ink- Red Riding Hood, Always Artichoke (SU), Tuxedo Black Memento (Tsukineko); Paper- Red Riding Hood, Basic Black (SU), Summer Sunrise (Papertrey Ink), white (Georgia-Pacific); Accessories- Stardust and Christmas Red Stickles, brads (Darice); Finished card measures 4.25" square

Got Vellum?

This is for Laurie's Dirty Dare Challenge from Monday. . .to use vellum. I stamped the image from the Damask stamp set and the sentiment from Verve Stamps on white cardstock. Then I ran a piece of vellum through my Cuttlebug in the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I attached the Swiss Dot embossed vellum over the white cardstock. This was a pretty quick and simple card as far as stamping goes.

On another note, I hope you'll join us for the Prettie Pajama Party in the Paper Pretties forums this Friday, August 1st beginning at 8pm EST. I have some challenges for you and there will be lots of fun chatter and prizes! Also, if you want to be the next Cutie Pie, make sure you make a card using your Paper Pretties stamps and send it to Christie at http://us.mc331.mail.yahoo.com/mc/compose?to=christie@paperpretties.net, and she will choose a winner from the entries. Besides getting to call yourself a Cutie Pie, you will also get all the stamps from this release for free! You have until July 31st at 9pmEST to get your entries in! Best of luck! Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Psalm 37:4 (Verve Stamps), Damask (Inkadinkado); Paper- DCWV, vellum, white (Georgia-Pacific); Ink- Sweet Blush (Papertrey Ink), Onyx Black (Versafine); Accessories- rose organdy ribbon, pearl brads (Darice), Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder

Dreams Come True

I made this card using the Dawn Houser Friendship set by Inkadinkado. My favorite stamp in this set is the dress, but I made myself use another stamp from the set instead. After I stamped and cut out the hearts, I ran them through my Xyron to make the fronts sticky and dunked them in glitter. It just gives such a pretty effect. You can find this set at Stamper's Dream along with the patterned paper from the Memory Box Homespun Collection.

Well, I'm off to do some cleaning. I've put it off long enough today! Thanks for checking in! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Friendship (Inkadinkado); Paper- Homespun Collection (Memory Box), So Saffron (SU), white (Georgia-Pacific); Ink- So Saffron (SU); Accessories- Threading Water punch (Fiskars), paper piercer, So Saffron marker (SU), organdy ribbon (Darice), Dazzling Diamonds glitter (SU)

Be Inspired #7

It's another inspiration challenge from Beate! I've had this black glossy cardstock that I picked up a while ago and never used. I thought it would work well for this challenge. It DOES work well, but I found it impossible to keep from getting little specks of embossing powder everywhere. The oil from your fingers makes it stick to the glossy cardstock so easily. I stamped these images so many times to try to get a "cleaner" version, but perfect just wasn't happening. LOL The set is the Patterned Bugs set from Inkadinkado and the sentiment is from the Flutter By set from Paper Pretties. You can't tell so much from the photograph because of the lighting, but the black glossy cardstock is mounted on metallic gold cardstock. The large butterfly's wings are mounted with dimensionals for a 3d effect. Be sure and check out what Beate, Danielle Lounds, Dawn McVey, Jenn Balcer, Silke Ledlow and Susan Roberts came up with for today. I'm sure they will be gorgeous! Thanks for stopping by! SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Patterned Bugs (Inkadinkado), Flutter By (Paper Pretties); Paper- black glossy cardstock, gold (DCWV Metallic Stack); Ink- Versamark; Accessories- gold embossing powder, black organdy ribbon (Darice), gold brads (Making Memories)

Groovy Skies

This is for today's Color Challenge on SCS, Groovy Skies. . .to use Soft Sky and Groovy Guava. I really like the softness of this color combo. I thought this sunflower stamp by Inkadinkado would work with the Groovy Guava coloring. I did add some Wild Wasabi for the leaves and Close to Cocoa as a border. The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up! So Many Sayings Hostess set. For the faux stitching, I used my Bashful Blue marker. This card is so different from what I've been doing lately, it's hard to get used to! I do like it though. Hope you do too! Thanks for stopping by!

On a side note, I had a question the other day from Mary Anna. She asked:

Charmaine, Your cards are very nice!I do have a question? I see that you are using Cling for the back of your stamps now. and I see that you are storing them in the regular clam shell boxes. My question is how does this save you space?I thought the whole reason for cling backing was to save space too!!

Mary Anna, to answer your question. . .I don't save any space :), but that wasn't why I used the Cling. I used the cling on that particular stamp set because it comes as 3 stamps (3 large wood blocks) with a list of sentiments on each stamp. Instead of having to color JUST the sentiment I wanted to use or stamp the whole thing and cut out the sentiment I wanted to use, I cut ALL of the sentiments apart. Since I didn't have small blocks for each of the now 34 stamps, I put cling on the back so that I could use them with an acrylic block and not have to worry about finding wooden blocks for each of them. Does that make sense? So far, that's the only set I've done this to. Hope I've answered your question!

SUPPLIES USED: Stamps- Gardenia, Inkadinkado, sentiment, SU; Ink- Basic Brown, Soft Sky, Groovy Guava, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip; Paper- Soft Sky, Groovy Guava, Close to Cocoa, Whisper White; Accessories- Making Memories brads, small and large oval punch, grosgrain ribbon, Aquapainter, blender pen, paper piercer, Bashful Blue marker.
