Hentai Haruspex

I finished this several days ago but was distracted by an idea for some fan fiction.

Tentacles for the tentacle god

I made about twenty tentacles for this one.  So many that they didn't all fit in his mouth.  On balance, I think I love tentacles more than magnets.

Making Amends

I finally caved in and bought the Tyranid codex.  The rational human being in me wants to continue playing Space Marines.

Mutually Assured Destruction

The dreadnought is complete at last and I decided to make myself a 40k demotivational poster to celebrate.

Wave of Mutilation

An update on the Redemptor to keep me going.  Weirdly, I have almost finished the base.  Just details really and a bit of flock and grass effects to go. This is highly unusual since bases usually bore the crap out of me.

Stealth Mawloc

Well there it is.  Stealth Mawloc is nigh on invulnerable because you can't see him.  He isn't even on the table.  This ultimate stealth bomber appears randomly, drops two blast templates and then mishaps off the board or back into reserves. GG.

Confessions of a Tempestus Scion

His failure to comply with regulation probably saved his life that day.

Toy Story (WIP)

Inspired by Westrider's 'Cowering in Terror' post over on Cascadian Grimdark I decided to use the idea for a Lictor model that I haven't gotten round to building yet.  I've depicted various marines, guardsmen and Necrons on my nid bases in the past.  Usually in various stages of imminent death, incontinence and decollation.

I was impressed with Westrider's cowardly guardsman.

Don't Fear the Reaper

"Armed with a bewildering array of wicked looking limbs, claws and scythes, Reapers stalk the dreams of those who abhor wanton violence, torture or pain, hell-bent on delivering their worst fears"

Instant Army (just add Tyranids)

I started several projects all at once this week, none of which I finished.  I did manage to repaint 3 Genestealers in my latest hivefleet colours. A fairly random thing to do, given that I'm playing Kings of War at the moment and I haven't used Genestealers in a game since, well, I can't remember exactly when.

Stealth Trygon

So, as usual when I have a ton of painting to do, I lose interest or get distracted.  This is one reason to enter competitions.  It focuses the mind and provides a deadline; you get shit done.  When you only have a vague urge to complete a project, the temporising starts.

Lord Commissar Cheese

Said 'A' to 'B', "I don't like 'C', his manners are a lack.  For all I ever see of 'C' is a semi circular back"

A bit of touching up and my third, cheesy Flyrant is finished.  I was never really stoked by the standard Flyrant pose, even though I love the model.  It suggests the beast gliding over the battlefield like some sort of demonic valkyrie, but most of the time you can only see its back during a game and have to crouch down for a closer look at the business end.

Floaty Balls of Death

More like Flimsy Balloons of Derp when they deepstrike mishap, but they're cheap and cheerful and fun to play.  This was my first attempt at sculpting with Milliput.

Rip me a new one

Nine more ripper bases finished.  All thirty seven of the little bastards are done.  I'll be taking a total of fifteen bases to Maelstrom which is nice and fluffy. I should enjoy running hordes of little feeder organisms around, true to the Tyranid lore. My opponents will enjoy burning them in great swathes of cleansing fire.  I think the striated effect works really well on this type of model, making them look very busy and swarmish. And they only took a couple (or three) evenings to paint.

In Utero

The pit is completely enclosed and its full of leathery objects... like eggs or something.

Cross Section (vertical plane)

Conversion is finished.  Kind of.  The model is too intricate to paint assembled and remains in pieces.

Anatomy of a Drop Pod

This is turning into a labour of love.  I'm almost sorry I started, but the finished results will hopefully be worth it.  I wanted to model the inside of a Tyrannocyte complete with sleeping Carnifex.  This was to be my homage to Da Vinci's 'In Utero'.  My plucky defiance of the naysayers who hate the model, reckon its too fiddly to build and call it 'the floating pineapple'.
