Lets Go Dotty! Challenge with Tiddly Inks Stamps

It's challenge time over at Tiddly Inks Challenge and the theme is Lets Go Dotty..... I'm worried I may have taken the title a little too seriously! Sooooo many dots! I decided to use Eat More Cake as I knew she'd look super cute in polka dots.

I'm still in a major crafting funk at the moment due to health etc so it was nice to get my pens out and have a play.  I added all the dottyness with my Sakura Glaze White Gel Pen. It goes on clear, but then gives really bright white spots once it dries. A magic that Zoe from Make it Crafty introduced me to. Here's her close up.

I used some chipboard from Make it Crafty for the sentiment and continued the dottyness on those. I told you I got a bit carried away with dots!

Copics used:
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04 with R20 cheeks

Flowers - R27, R29, R59, YR04, YR27

I hope you come over and join in the Tiddly Inks Lets Get Dotty Challenge. I'd love to know what you think.

Tiddly Inks April Challenge

For the April Tiddly Inks Challenge we're all Showcasing the same image - this lovely mermaid couple.

I decided to use the precoloured version of the https://www.tiddlyinks.com/digital-stamps/little-valentines-mermaids-stickers-and-digital-stamps/stickers and created an April planner sheet. I made the planner sheet from scratch (with a few interesting mistakes along the way) and sized the stickers to fit. I didn't have any printable sticker paper so used a large sized address label - it's amazing what you can adapt when you want to.

Here's the completed pages added into my notebook. Love how it turns out!

A close up of the pages.

It was different for me using precoloured images rather than colouring myself, but it was lots of fun.

Don;t forget to come over to the Tiddly Inks Challenge to see the DT creations & join in the challenge yourself.

Dimension Challenge with Tiddly Inks Stamps

I had such fun creating this for the Dimension Challenge over at Tiddly Inks Stamps Challenge blog. Whenever I have a dimensional challenge the shadow boxes from Make it Crafty spring straight to mind. I love the amazing effect they give! I've used the Thin Circle Shadow Box as a base for Rudolf Reindeer and his friends and love how they're flying through the sky!

I used the Confetti Sparkle digi paper from The Lovely Studio as the background and finished it with the Happy and Christmas layered words from Make it Crafty.

You can see all the dimension! The reindeer are flying across the sky! I love how the shadow boxes from  Make it Crafty come with a flat packed 3D stand so they are freestanding. So clever!

I layered the second and fourth reindeer to add even more dimension & the whole string is lifted from the outer circle with foam pads.

Here's a close up of Rudolf Reindeer. I used him four times, but with different scarf colours, noses and spot colours on their rump they don't immediately appear to be the same image. I've added a touch of Stardust Stickles to the top of the scarves & some of the stars to give a bit of shimmer.

Here's a close up of the Happy and Christmas layered words from Make it Crafty

I hope you like my creation and will come and join in the Dimension Challenge over at Tiddly Inks Stamps Challenge blog

Colour Challenge with Tiddly Inks Stamps

Well my crafting mojo seems to have been in hibernation for the last few months. I'm hoping the change in the season & this colour challenge from Tiddly Ink Stamps will help. The challenge was to use a colour swatch as inspiration so I paired Greeting Fairy (one of my favourites) with some papers from Samantha Walker Autumn Harvest pack.

Here's the colour scheme I was following - not my normal 'go to' colours at all!

Here's Greeting Fairy's close up. I added shimmer to her dress & full on sparkle to her wings. Well I mean a fairy has to have sparkly wings doesn't she?

The sentiment is typed & then I added two layers of clear Sakura Glaze pen.

Copics Used:
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04 with R20 Cheeks

Clean & Simple with Tiddly Inks

It's challenge time again over at Tiddy Inks Challenge blog & this month the theme is 'Clean and Simple'. Well most of your now I'm the Queen of Clean & Simple at the best of times so I thought I'd better go Ultra Clean & Simple for this one.

It's an idea I've had in my head for a while. Luckily not a card I'm making with anyone in mind, but they're always hard cards so handy to have made. I used Grandma's Lilies as the focal point & typed a simple sentiment using Great Vibes font.

Unfortunately I forgot how difficult white & green are to photograph. The lilies have a touch of pale green in the shading & going up the base of the petals which just doesn't catch on camera. I also added a touch of Wink of Stella so they shimmer in the light - you can sort of see it in the next photo, but not properly. One day I will learn to make things that are easy to photograph!

A simple sentiment highlighted with Sakura Stardust pen.

Simple, but heart felt. It's a card I hope I don't have to send for a very long time.

I'd Walk a Tightrope with Tiddly Ink Stamps

Well this new digi from Tiddly Inks made me think of a certain film .... I'm sure you can guess which it is. I've watched it several times already & constantly have the soundtrack in my head. I thought I'd have fun with 'Walk a Tight Rope Wryn' and try to make  it look as though she's walking right up high in the Big Top with a spotlight catching her. It was a bit of an experiment, but I like how it turned out.

Here's her close up! I coloured her with Copics and then did the spotlight & background with Distress Inks.

Any self respecting performer has a few sparkles, so I added that to her costume using Sakura stardust gel pens. They only show the sparkle at certain angles.

I printed the sentiment on my laser printer & then applied fuchsia pink foil using my Foil Master machine. I do love the shine and it meant it stayed vibrant through the Distress Ink.

I will admit this card makes me smile when I look at it.

Topsy Turvy with Tiddly Ink Stamps

I'm totally and utterly in love with this new image from Tiddly Ink Stamps! As soon as I saw her she reminded me of me - I'll admit I'm just a little quirky like this. Christy was kind enough to do a version without the cat & this sentiment just popped into my head!

Yes you are allowed to laugh at the mental image of me trying to look in the mirror to confirm what legs look like in that angle. Observations are a) Trying to do anything approaching this with balance difficulties is not to be recommended and b) Miss Topsy Turvy Wryn has lovely legs and I have leg envy! :P

Do you look at the world a little differently too? I find it's by far the best way!

Anything Goes with Tiddly Inks

Well it's time for the July Challenge over at the Tiddly Inks Challenge & this month it's the flexible Anything Goes! So get your Tiddly Inks out and get creating.

My creation seemed meant to be! I'd chosen this page from the Friendship Days Colouring Book & printed it out, but then had a brief pause before colouring to investigate the source of a buzzing noise in the loft. Imagine my surprise to find a colony of Bumblebees who've made a nest up there! A consultation of Google shows that they're Tree Bumblebees - (Bombus hypnorum) that have appeared in the UK since 2001 and do often nest in the roof space of houses, or in bird boxes. They're harmless unless disturbed. I did rather like the quote from this article that said 'If the person is just concerned because of the drone clouds, I aim to educate the caller to enjoy the spectacle and feel honoured to be a “Bee Landlord”. Unless they fiddle with the nest, they should be perfectly safe.'

So my colouring page just had to be coloured in Tree Bumblebee colours of Ginger thorax (well hair), black body & white tail stripes..... and lots of bumblebee fluff!

How cute is this Tiddly Bumblebee! I wanted to make her as fluffy as she could be.

I finished her off with some chipboard words from Make it Crafty that I coloured with Sakura Glaze gel pens. I printed the colouring page at 1/4 of an A4 sheet so it will make a nice card.

Here are some pictures of our bee tenants. One came down & sat on the table for a while so I managed to get some close ups.

There's a lot of bees up there. At least I know what the buzzing noise is now.

A Royal Wedding with Tiddly Inks

Now you may have heard there's a wedding happening in Windsor, UK tomorrow ...... I mean it's not been mentioned on the media at all really has it :P :P :P I couldn't resist making a slightly tongue in cheek Harry & Meghan inspired card for Fab Friday over at the Tiddly Inks Stamps blog. Obviously the official wedding attire is a closely guarded secret so I've taken a guess, but I thought Love You Mostest was just prefect.

I made her veil shimmer using Wink Of Stella. Here you can see the colouring underneath the veil.

A bit of Union Jack washi tape & there it was finished. Nice and easy.

I added some Sakura Stardust pen to the sentiment.

Cherry Blossom with Make it Crafty & Tiddly Ink Stamps

Now you all know I'm a fan of both Make it Crafty and Tiddly Inks Stamps. I mean I'm on the Design Teams for both so that shows just how much I love them. Well recently Zoe of Make it Crafty and Christy of Tiddly Inks Stamps were having a 'friendly discussion' about who's Cherry Blossom did stamp was best. I love them both ... so decided to combine them both in one card!

Cheeky idea I know, but I love how the two designs work together and compliment each other!

Cherry Blossom from Make it Crafty is the larger image in the foreground Cherry Blossoms from Tiddly Inks is the smaller image in the background. I coloured them with my copics concentrating the brighter colours & Wink of Stella on the branch in the foreground & keeping the branches in the background more muted. I'm hoping that adds to the perspective I was aiming for.

I finished the card by mounting on black card & adding chipboard words - 0.5" Hello Word Chipboard and 2.0" Friend Word Chipboard.

I coloured the chippies using RV02 & 100 Copics, added Wink of Stella to the top layer, then a layer of Glossy Accents as a finishing touch.

I hope you like it and come and join in the challenges this month

I'll leave you with this picture of a beautiful tree covered in blossom that I saw this week. Not a cherry tree, but it was incredibly beautiful. Not what you expect to find in the swimming pool car park in Devon, UK. The blossom has been late this year, but the trees have suddenly burst into flower all at once.

Wish Upon a Star with Tiddly Inks

Don't you love it when a crazy crafting idea pops into your head .... and then actually comes into reality as you thought about it? It hardly ever happens does it, but this was one of those magical moments! I'm even more pleased that this came together in time for the Spring Blog Hop for Tiddly Inks Stamps. If you want to do the whole hop (and have a chance for prizes) start at the beginning here.

I fell in love with the Wish Upon a Star digi from Tiddly Inks as soon as I saw it. Somehow the idea of the image, the Falling Stars die from Simon Says Stamp, and a set of battery LED lights combined and I came up with this idea.

I created a shadow box frame using a template and cutting it out on my Silver Bullet Cutting Machine from Thyme Graphics. I coloured the sky background using Distress Inks and then used the Falling Stars die twice to create a scatter of stars across the sky. I fixed this to the front of the shadow box. I coloured Wish Upon a Star using my Copics, cut her out and then mounted her on foam pads.

I had a long string of battery lights that was longer than I needed ,so I cut them to a shorter length (after asking for advice from more physics savvy people than me to check I wouldn't kill them). I taped them onto the inside back of the shadow box frame and cut a small slot for the cable to come out & then assembled the box. I love how the stars light up when the switch is turned on!

An unexpected bonus was the effect that showed up when I turned the room lights off! It looks a bit like the Milky Way!

It's a little project, but it's made me smile!

The Blog hop STARTS AT 6 PM CST on the 28th and  ends on the April 29, and we have planned a party on the Facebook page from 6 PM until 10 PM on April 29, so please stop by.

PRIZES:
Two random blogger participant winners will be announced April 29 and highlighted on Christie's blog. Each will receive a $10 gift voucher.

Circle challenge with Tiddly Inks

I'm seeing circles for the Circle Challenge over at the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog! I hardly ever make circular cards, but I couldn't resist pairing Wryn Hanging Around with a Chipboard Circle Shadow Box from Make it Crafty. The shadow box includes a stand so it's free standing.

I used my Silver Bullet Professional Cutting Machine to print and cut Wryn Hanging Around  so she was literally suspended from the branch & hanging in mid air.

I tethered the tips of her hair to the base of the frame so she didn't wiggle off and get up to too much mischief (but you can't really see that they're attached).

I coloured the sky background using the techniques in Make It Crafty's Ebook Fun Techniques for Colouring Skies.

Copics Used:
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04 with R20 cheeks
Hair - E23, E25, E27, E18, E29, E49
Top - R24, R27, R29, R59, W7

Branch - E44, E47, E27, E49
Leaves - G14, G17, G29
Sky - B00, B02, B05
Clouds - B23, B25, 0

I hope she's bought a smile to your face.
I hope you'll come over and join in the Circle Challenge over at the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog

A Birthday Wish with Tiddly Inks

It's Fab Friday over on the Tiddly Inks Blog & there are so many amazing creations on show. Make sure you pop over and have a look. I decided to use Wryn Wishes for my card - I do love this image - simple but lots of fun - perfect for a birthday card.

Here's Wryn Wishes close up. I used Wink of Stella & Sakura Stardust on the dandelions to give them some gentle sparkle. It doesn't really show in the photo, but in real life it makes a difference.

I added Sakura Stardust to the sentiment I typed so it had some sparkle too.

Copics Used:
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04 with R20 Cheeks
Hair - E23, E25, E27, E18, E29, E49
Dress - R24, R27, R29, R59, W7
G14, G17, G29
Dandelions - Wink of Stella, Sakura Stardust Gel Pen

I hope you like her & you pop over to the Tiddly Inks blog to see what everyone has created.
