Winter Wonderland with KennyK

The weather's definitely changing here in the UK. They've started naming the big storms of the year. Last week we had 'Abigail' and at the moment 'Barney' is giving us a battering. Its nice to be tucked inside safely in the dry.

This month's challenge at KennyK's Krafty Krew is Winter Wonderland.
I used Happy Holidays (which is available as a freebie if you sign up to the KennyK Newsletter, and added it into an actual photo bauble.

I decided to go with non traditional colours so used Copics BG01, BG05, BG07, BG09 & B99

I added actual snow
.... ok so not actual snow - but the white Flowersoft does look like snow don't you think?

She's going to look great hanging on my tree this year.

Hope you come over and enter the Winter Wonderland Challenge at KennyK's Krafty Krew
KennyK are also sponsoring Through the Purple Haze Challenges this month and there's still time to enter the It's Hot Inside, but Cold Outside challenge there.

Happy Birthday card for my Husband

It was my Husband's birthday recently and I used Col. Macallan from KennyK Downloads to make a card for him. He's got a real soft spot for dogs so this was the perfect choice.

I kept the card plain and simple. The base is Kraft Cardstock, the birthday paper is a digi paper from Pink Petticoat that came free with a magazine in the UK recently. I printed it in Orange as that's his favourite colour and mounted it on gold cardstock.

I used a thin strip of corrugated cardboard and added some distress inks to highlight the ridges.

I coloured Col. Macallan  with my Copics. I tried to give him a bit of texture like hair, but not too much as Bulldogs are fairly smooth coated. I used Copics E42, E42, E45 & E47 for his coat & E23, E25, E27 & E29 for his leatherwork & a gold gel pen for the metalwork.

I really hope you like him. Luckily my hubby did (along with the Coffee birthday cake & a couple of Freddie King CD's).

A new KennyK Digi

Woo hoo! Another amazing new release from KennyK!!!!

This time it's two new sporty boys - Basketball Star and Batter Up.

The theme at KennyK's Krafty Krew is Fancy Folds so my Hougie Board & the Mini Masterpieces book came out to make this Side Stepper card.

From the side you can see I added an extra Fancy Fold by making two folded springs from card to make Basketball Star pop out of the card.

Here's Basketball Star. He was such a dream to colour. He really looks like he's about to bounce that ball (and from that you can tell the extent of my knowledge about Basketball :P )

I hope you come over and share your KennyK love and fancy folds at  KennyK's Krafty Krew.

St David's Day with KennyK

The theme for this week's Through the Purple Haze Challenge is St David's Day so we had to go for something Welsh inspired.

Our sponsor this week is the wonderful KennyK and I chose to use Dragon Rider.
It's a bit of a scary digi, but once I got colouring I was fine.

My creation ended up a lot bigger than intended - it's 22cm square! Whoops that's not being sent on a card so it became a display plaque.

The Frame is the Celtic Frame Card from the Silhouette Store. I love the simplicity of this design and thought it worked perfectly with the detailed image.

Here's Dragon Rider in all her glory.

I coloured her with my Copics

Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04 with R20 Cheeks
Hair - Y11, Y15, Y17, YR24, E35
Outfit (what there is of it!!) R35, R37, R39, R59, W7 & Gold Gel Pen
Dragon - YR23, YR25, G14, G17, G29, W7, W9

The sentiment was a freebie from Create with TLC a while ago.

I really hope you like what I've created.

Mother's Day/ One for the Girls at Digi Galore

Time for a new challenge at Digi Galore.

With Mother's Day coming up in the UK I thought I'd be organised (for once) and get ahead of the game.

This is what I made with Craft Star from Kenny K. Yes that's right - one of my favourite Digi Artists sponsoring one of my favourite challenge blogs (and come back tomorrow for more treats).

I kept the card clean and simple as I wanted the image being the main focus.

I coloured Craft Star with my Copics

Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04 with R20 Cheeks
Hair - E42, E43, E45, E47, E49, E23
Top - RV06,
Apron -
Jeans - BV23, BV25, BV27, BV29

The Sentiment is from Pink Petticoat and I added the words 'Handmade of Course' at the bottom.
I drew over the words Mother's Day with my Sakura Stardust pen to give it a hint of shimmer.

I really hope you like it. Check back tomorrow for some more Kenny K love.

New KennyK images

KennyK has another amazing release - two Martial Arts digis to add to the Kid Nation collection and they're so cute!

I decided to make a quick and easy card using the Precoloured Martial Arts Girl combined with a sentiment from Create with TLC and a Spiders Web from Graphics Factory.

I drew over the spider's web with Sakura Stardust pen so it's got a subtle shimmer.

I do love that sentiment. I picked it up as a freebie from Create with TLC quite a while ago and it makes me laugh every time I see it as it's so true! Tell me you don't jump all over the place waving your hands if you walk into a spiders web! I know I do!!!

I hope this has made you smile. I'll certainly be using Martial Arts Girl & Boy again in the very near future.

It's time for a new challenge at KennyK's Krafty Krew  and the challenge theme is Anything Goes with an optional Sports twist.

I decided to stretch my sporting knowledge and made this Baseball card as I could't resist Batter.

I loved making this and am looking forward to seeing any entries you have using KennyK images.

Happy Birthday Elena (Mrs Kenny K)!

Happy Birthday to You!
Happy Birthday to You!
Happy Birthday dear Elenaaaaaa
Happy Birthday to You!!!!

I hope you're having a wonderful birthday and enjoying your Birthday Hop!
That Miss Regan is a sneaky one isn't she setting this up as a surprise for you!
Sneaky in a good way luckily.

Here's the card I made for you.

I used Texting Friends and coloured her with my Copics.

It's a bit difficult to see on the main picture but I've added Sakura Stardust pen to the words so they shimmer.

I hope you have a really wonderful birthday Elena.
Thanks for leading Kenny K's Krafty Krew. I love being part of the group.

Your next stop on the hop is with Nick.

For anyone else who's following the blog hop (or who's just come across me by accident) the whole of Kenny K's Krafty Krew are taking part in this blog hop. Hop along and see everyone's creations and leave them a little love. Finish back at Kenny K's Krafty Krew with some birthday love for Elena. New Releases at Kenny K!!!!!!

Woo Hoo! Today's an exciting day!!! Kenny K has a new release - and they are AMAZING!!!!

There are three new images - Foxy Mama - a super sexy curvy lady, Ballerina - a lovely girl with a walking frame practising her ballet, and High Score - a boy enjoying a computer game from the comfort of his wheelchair. I can see me using these images lots.

It's time for a new challenge over at Kenny K's Krafty Krew today and the theme is 'You're Special'. I could't resist colouring Ballerina.

I made her pretty and girly and made her base ultra glittery - I mean what aspiring ballerina doesn't love pink glitter?

I designed the card base myself and cut it on my Black Cat Cougar. For some reason the shape just popped into me head when I saw the image ..... but I hadn't thought as far as what the cut out card base would look like though :P I think it would be more appropriate for a card for Foxy Mama!!! Luckily folded it suits Ballerina nicely.

As well as the glitter I added Sakura Tiara gel pen to the sentiment and her walking frame to give it a shimmery metallic look.

Now I love this new release so much that I couldn't resist colouring High Score too. Just a plain and simple card, but hopefully one a young gamer would like (not the best photo).

I again added a touch of Sakura Tiara shimmer pen to the metal of his wheelchair - not full on glittery like Ballerina's frame, but a hint of metallic paint is good.

I coloured them both with my Copics.

I really hope you like them and hope you'll come over and join in the 'You're Special' challenge at Kenny K's Krafty Krew. You could use one of the new images, or any of the other amazing images by Kenny K.

My 5 Favourite creation of 2014

There's a blog hop happening looking back at your favourite 5 projects from 2014 and I thought I'd join in. It's been a busy year with DT work for
Through the Purple Haze Challenges
Digi Galore
Kenny K's Krafty Krew
Encino Stamps

and I've loved every minute. I consider it an honour to be part of such great teams.

It was hard to pick but my 5 favourite projects from 2014 are:

I know I've already reached my 5, but I couldn't resist including this quilt I made for my best friend's daughter. It was my first step into quilting after starting a course at the local sewing shop.

I hope you like the ones I've picked. I can't wait to get crafting and seeing what 2015 brings x

Happy Birthday Dad

It's my Dad's 60th Birthday today and I decided to make him a birthday card using Smart Alec buy Kenny K. I thought it made a fun card for him & tied in perfectly with Kenny K's Krafty Krew's new challenge - Anything Goes.

I kept the card fairly simple & used one of Kenny K's sentiments (Totally Awesome Dad) and added my own Happy 60th at the beginning.

I added a touch of Sakura Gel pen to give the top edge of the words a touch of shine....

.... and full on 'blinged' the word Dad.

Here's Smart Alec.  I coloured him with my Copics and kept him really bright but clean and simple to go with the Pop Art style.

I really hope he likes it.

Today's an exciting day as Kenny K has released two new Social Media related digis and a sheet of sentiments.

Yep that's right! New Kenny K's!!!!!

I love both the new digis -  Texting Friends and Retro Selfie, but couldn't resist playing with Retro Selfie first.

The theme at Kenny K's Krafty Krew is Black and White to I stuck mainly to that colour scheme.

Snow!!! With Kenny K

Well Halloween's over so now it's time to count down to Christmas! Or so some clever friend told me. I'm not one for counting down this far ahead, but the Optional twist for Kenny K's Krafty Krew challenge is 'Snow' so winter it is!

I've fallen in love with the Acetate based cards so decided to make another one. This time I used my Cougar Cutting Machine from Thyme Graphics to engrave snowflakes into the acetate.

I used a thinner acetate than usual and the engraving actually went through the acetate more than intended, but it all adds to the snowy feel.

I coloured her using my Copics:

Skin - E000, E00, E11, E21, E04 with R20 Cheeks
Hair - E21, E23, E25, E27, E29, E49
Dress & Hat - R24, R27, R29, R59, W7
Boots - E23, E25, E29

The Presents and signpost are Gift Way from Make it Crafty
B63, B66, B69
G14, G16, G29
Y15, Y35
Bows - Sakura Tiara Gel Pens
Signpost - E71, E74, E77
Snow - touches of B000

I hope you like it & would love to see your entry with a Kenny K digi over at Kenny K's Krafty Krew

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:
