I've made a couple of cards using the new releases.

Here's the new Unicorn. I'm going to be doing a tutorial of how I made this card here on the That Craft Place blog so pop over then if you want to see how I made it.

Now for one of the Bubbles - this little cutie is Disco Bubbles.
I tried to colour him so he was dancing in the disco lights.

The lights are even catching the highlights in his hair.

Catching the light you can see I've coloured him wearing good old 80's bling! Full on silver!

These sentiment tags are new too. I can see me using them lots in the future.

Anyway that's enough from me.

Your next stop on the hop is with the lovely Sam

It's challenge time at Through the Purple Haze Challenges and this time the theme is Things with Wings.
We're sponsored by the lovely All Dressed Up Stamps. I love their beautiful digis so was delighted to have Fairy Wings to create with. I used digi papers from their paper packs - one from Pink Papers and one that was included in a giveaway they did through Complete Cardmaking with you PC magazine last year in the UK.

Fairy Wings is so adorable. I chose to colour her in a delicate pink colour. I added Wink of Stella to her dress & Stickles Stardust to her wings and the butterfly wings.

I typed the sentiment in Craft Artist 2

Happy Birthday Elena K

Over at Club KennyK we'll be having a bit of a party, but I thought I'd start by posting my card here. I used the new Biker Girl without Bike. She's a bit difficult to capture on camera as the weather is currently rather dull & dismal here in the UK.

I love this sassy girl - she's so stylish.
The birthday sentiment was a freebie from Create with TLC

A Phone Case & a Tribute with Saturated Canary

A busy few day blogging. If you're after the Make it Crafty Blog Hop you'll find it a few posts further down xxx

I've had a colouring day today and made two things I've been meaning to make for ages.
The first is an insert for my mobile phone case. I've had this planned for ages, but had to delay it when my phone broke and I had to source a replacement (which was a different shape & size).

I used Coloring Lucy from Saturated Canary. She's the custom digi I ordered a few months ago and I love her to bits. I cheekily added my name (handy for if I loose my phone) and an 's' to the 'Live' sign to make it just right for the phone case.

Here it is coloured.

And here it is on my phone. I've just slipped it inside the clear gel phone case I've got. It's suffering a little from a wrinkled bottom - but hey - so many of us do - so I'm not worrying :P

It's difficult to capture on camera but I added a wash of Wink of Stella to the white space so it gives it a touch of shimmer.

I'm so pleased I've done it at last. I LOVE it :D

Copics Used:
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04 with R20 Cheeks
Hair - E23, E25, E27, E29, E49
Top & Shoes - R24, R27, R29, R59, W7
Cardi - BG45, BG49, BG09, B99
Jeans - B93, B95, B97, B99
Copics - C2, C3, C5
Signs - B21, B24, B26, B29
R24, R27, R29, R59
Y11, Y15, Y17, YR23, E23

The second creation is one I've had in mind since the sad news of Alan Rickman passing.
He was an amazing actor & perfect in so many of his roles - not least Professor Snape in Harry Potter. I decided to create a tribute to him using Niamh Make Believe coloured as Lily Potter & the beautiful 'Always' tribute that Sam of Autumn Moon Designs created when the news was announced.

Ideally I'd mount it in a black frame, but this white one was on the only one I have at the moment.

Here's a close up of Niamh Make Believe coloured as Lily Potter. Now I know Lily doesn't wear glasses, but hopefully with her hair colour, Griffindor colours & of course 'those eyes' she reminds everyone of Lily enough. With the history of her & Snape it just had to be her.

This is the beautiful tribute designed by Sam of Autumn Moon Designs. I don't think my printer and camera did it justice as it's just beautiful. I added some Wink of Stella to it to give it a bit of shimmer & magic

Copics Used:
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04 with R20 Cheeks
Hair - YR12, YR16, YR18, E09, E18
Eyes - G82, G46, G29
Scarf & Tights - Y15, Y17, YR24, E35, R37, R39, R59, R89, W7
Robe - C5, C7, C9

I hope you like it & think it's a fitting tribute.

First play with Prismacolor Pencils with Make it Crafty

I had a lovely slightly belated Christmas present - a set of 120 Prismacolor pencils.
Now I'm a marker girl at heart, but have been tempted to try pencils for a while & when this set popped up second hand on a selling site it seemed a good time.

I decided to use the lovely new Bridgette in Love from Make it Crafty as my first experiment. It certainly took a lot more concentration than when I'm colouring with my Copics & I've got a long way to go, but for a first attempt I'm pleased.

I love the chipboard sentiments from Make it Crafty. I coloured this one with Copics, but decided it wasn't special enough. So I added purple Sakura Tiara pen and then several layers of purple Sakura Glaze pen. I love the glazed effect it gives. I left the holding supports attached to the dot of the 'i' because I liked the look of it.

For a first attempt I'm really pleased with how she turned out. I need to keep on practisingm but I had fun. I hope you like her.

The Unicorns have landed at That Craft Place.

The Unicorns are coming to That Craft Place! These are a new range of digis and they're just so cute! I love them to bits and couldn't resist playing.

I used the unicorn, rainbow, two clouds & raindrops.
I wanted the rainbow and clouds to stretch across the top of the card so stretched the rainbow out sideways, This is one of the things I love about digi stamps - you can squidge and squeeze them a bit to make them fit the space you're using.

I have a real thing for rainbows so love colouring them.
I added some shading to the clouds & some Wink of Stella. I added hints of reflected colours to the raindrops as they'd reflect the colours of the rainbow before adding Glossy Accents.

Here's a close up of the Unicorn. How cute is he! I kept him simple with subtle shading and Sakura Stardust Gel Pen on his tail, mane & horn. I used Wink of Stella on his body - after all Unicorns really should be sparkly don't you think?

This cutie will be available in the That Craft Place Etsy store very soon.

The first Club KennyK Facebook Challenge

Hi Everyone. Have have you all come over to Club KennyK - the new Facebook Group for KennyK fans? If not make sure you do. It's growing quickly and being a Group rather than a Page it's much more interactive so be prepared for lots of fun.

We've moved the fortnightly KennyK Challenges from the blog to Club KennyK so come over and join in.

For our first Club KennyK challenge we're focusing on the clear stamps from KennyK. I've had the clear stamp set Dangerous Curves for a while but not stamped her - so this was the perfect opportunity.

I had a bit of brain freeze about what to make with her until the idea of a Wine Tag came to me. This image & sentiment is just perfect for that it's it!

The Sweet & Sexy sentiment is part of the Dangerous Curves stamp set & I added the '& Full Bodied' myself by hand.

She was loads of fun to colour.
Copics used:
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04 with R20 Cheeks
Hair - E23, E25, E27, E29, E49
Lingerie & Shoes - R35, R37, R39, R59, W7
Stockings - Skin colours with W2, W3, T3 & T5 over the top.

I hope you like her. I think she'll make the recipient of the bottle of Red Wine smile :D

Something Pink with Sweet Escape Digis

It's time for the first challenge of 2016 at Through the Purple Haze Challenges. We're having a bit of a revamp on the challenge and will be having challenges every fortnight rather than every month. That mean's there's twice as much chance of winning! Exciting eh!

The first challenge of the year is Anything Goes & is sponsored by Sweet Escape Digis. I do love those designs. I've gone with the Anything Goes theme, and combined it with the Sweet Escape Digis Challenge of 'Something New'.

Here's the card I made. I've used lots of new things - a new Digi - Flower Fairy from Sweet Escape Digis, a new sentiment from Create with TLC and even a new Wink of Stella pen as I've used up my previous one. I think that means I qualify :P

Here's a close up of Flower Fairy. I've had a break from colouring since before Christmas so it was lovely to get my pens out again. Flower Fairy was a dream to colour. Sooooo much lovely flowing hair!

I tried to colour her top so it resembled a shimmery organza material. I added some Wink of Stella to add to the shimmery effect.

Her hair is so beautiful that I couldn't resist adding a few strands of glitter with my Sakura Stardust Gel Pen. I used Pink Sakura Glaze pen on her earring and bracelet.

I kept the flowers light and subtle - again adding a touch of sparkle with the Sakura Stardust Gel Pen.
I love this sentiment - it's so true. I embellished it with some adhesive gems that I coloured with my RV55 Copic so they match the digi.

Copics Used:
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, with R20 Cheeks
Hair - E51, Y11, Y15, E53, E55, E57, E59, Sakura Stardust Gel Pen.
Dress & Flowers - RV52, RV55, RV66, RV69, RV99
Wink of Stella.

I really hope you like her. I'd love to see you join us at Through the Purple Haze Challenges.
Don't forget to stop by Sweet Escape Digis to see their lovely digis.
