Coloring Lucy from Saturated Canary

Coloring Lucy .... yep this really is a Saturated Canary digi that's based on me :D I was lucky enough to order one of Krista's Custom Digis recently and asked for a lady with straight mid to long length hair who loves colouring.

This is the result and I LOVE her!!!
I mean totally and utterly LOVE her!
I had many other things I should have been doing tonight, but I could't resist colouring her straight away. I've mounted her in one of the floating frames. At the moment it's against a black background, but she will soon be in pride of place on my wall.

Here's a close up.

I coloured her with my Copics
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04 with R20 Cheeks
Hair - E23, E25, E27, E29, E49
Top & Shoes - R24, R27, R29, R59, W7
Cardi - BG45, BG49, BG09, B99

Signs - B21, B24, B26, B29
R24, R27, R29, R59

I'm going to enjoy having this digi sooooo much :D
Anyone who is wondering about having a custom digi definitely go for it!

Celebrate with Saturated Canary

I fell in love with this digi as soon as I saw it. I regularly wear my hair up like that so I like to think it looks a bit like me. She's called New Year, but will work for so many birthday or celebration cards. She comes in a bundle of three holiday digis.

I kept my card clean and simple, but added a burst of colour and sparkle.
Here's a few close ups.

I added some Sakura Stardust pen to her hair, Gold Signo Gel pen & Glossy Accents to her star boppers & Sakura Glaze to her hairband.

Her top got the Wink of Stella treatment - well it is a festive card so sparkle is good :D

I printed the sentiment in light grey & coloured over it, then added Sakura Stardust.
The sparkles are the ones that appear around New Year's hand. I thought they worked nicely to accent the sentiment.

I used my Copics
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04 with R20 Cheeks
Hair - E21, E23, E25, E27, E29, E49
Top - G14, G19, G29, B99
Trousers - B93, B95, B97
Blower, Hairband - R24, R27, R29, R59

I hope she made you smile x

A Christmas Blog Hop with That Craft Place

We are having a blog hop over at
We cant wait to share our super Christmas Cuteness with you

Make sure you comment on every DT's blog as we will be giving away prize's

5 winners will be able to pick 5 images of their choice

You are at Lucy's Blog you now need to hop on over

Here's what I made.
I sort of caught the Kraft cardstock bug on the recent That Craft Place Challenge so stuck with that for these creations.

For this first one featuring the Buttonbox Fairy Candy Canes and Door bundle (also available as individual images) I really went outside my comfort zone - Kraft cardstock and pencils! You all know how much I use and love my Copics so my pencil work leaves a bit to be desired. I had fun playing though.

I really do love the Buttonbox Fairies - they're just so cute!

For my next project I made a gift tag for a bottle of wine
- mulled wine of course - it is Christmas after all!

These little cuties are actually a Pile of Penguins, but I thought they'd work nicely as robins.
I think they turned out nicely. I again used pencils to colour this along with some Black Sakura Glaze pen on their eyes & a white gel pen on the snow.

Finally I made this Christmas Robin card to give with the Mulled Wine.
This time I mainly used my Copics although the fluffy trim is white pencil & white Signo Gel Pen

All Products used from That Craft Place

I hope you've enjoyed your stop on the Hop. Don't forget to leave a comment before you hop onto the wonderful Karen

Engraving Slate

On the Thyme Graphics Retreat this year we learnt how to engrave slate coasters. I know I've said it many many times before but I love the capabilities my Silver Bullet cutting machine has. It really is a case of anything you can think of you can do - and many things you'd never even considered! That's very much the case with this project. I used the skills we learnt to make this wedding keepsake for a friend's daughter & son-in-law.

Here's a close up of the engraving. I used words my friend chose.

From this angle you can see the variation in the depths of the engraving depending on the settings I used

I love being able to create individual unique things for people.

A Make it Crafty Advent Calendar

You know how every so often crazy ideas pop into your head?
I mean totally insane - I must be off my rocker sort of ideas??
Well I tend to be prone to those - and more scarily I tend to act on them!
Before I even started this project I knew I was totally mad, but it was just itching to be made!

I mean who wouldn't want their own Make it Crafty Advent Calendar!!

2015.11.17 - Make it Crafty Advent Calendar

I've made Advent Calendars in the past but this was by far the biggest undertaking.  I used 27 Make it Crafty Images - one behind each door and three on the front, but oh I had great fun doing it.

You'll have to wait until December to see what's behind each door, but this sneak peek gives you an idea of how small they are (told you I was crazy eh!). Please excuse the poor quality photo.

I created the design for the doors in Inkscape and cut it on my Silver Bullet Cutting Machine. The funny thing is that now I've stuck the front on I can't remember what image is in what position, so opening the doors will be a nice surprise.

Products List

Copic Colours
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04 with R20 Cheeks
 G14, G17, G28, B99
R24, R27, R29, R59, W7
Pilot Gold Gel Pen
E23, E25, E27, E29, E49
E51, E53, E55, E57
C2, C3, C5
Wink of Stella (clear)

I hope you like it. I'll post updates of what's behind each door as we get into December.

Winter Wonderland with KennyK

The weather's definitely changing here in the UK. They've started naming the big storms of the year. Last week we had 'Abigail' and at the moment 'Barney' is giving us a battering. Its nice to be tucked inside safely in the dry.

This month's challenge at KennyK's Krafty Krew is Winter Wonderland.
I used Happy Holidays (which is available as a freebie if you sign up to the KennyK Newsletter, and added it into an actual photo bauble.

I decided to go with non traditional colours so used Copics BG01, BG05, BG07, BG09 & B99

I added actual snow
.... ok so not actual snow - but the white Flowersoft does look like snow don't you think?

She's going to look great hanging on my tree this year.

Hope you come over and enter the Winter Wonderland Challenge at KennyK's Krafty Krew
KennyK are also sponsoring Through the Purple Haze Challenges this month and there's still time to enter the It's Hot Inside, but Cold Outside challenge there.

Happy 21st Birthday with Saturated Canary

My neighbour turned 21 last week and I made this card for her.
She's had a tough year so it was nice to make something unique for her.

The Image is Wine O'Clock from Saturated Canary. She was an image on the CD that came with the magazine Complete Cardmaking on your PC earlier in 2015 and can be bought as part of a Digi Bundle here. I thought she was perfect for a 21st Birthday.

I extended her dress to meet the bottom of the card. I tried to add the same design as was at the top half of the dress. I hope I achieved that.

I added Sakura Glaze pen to the wine glass & the sentiment to give it extra impact.

Amii-Jane loved it and that's the main thing :D

Elvette has Santa's List - Make it Crafty

Today's an exciting day at Make It Crafty - two new lines the Adorable Santa's Little Elves, and the gorgeous Curvaceous Christmas Fairies. We've got an Instagram Hop happening to introduce the new Curvaceous Fairies - check out the Make it Crafty Facebook group for the link.

I decided to play with Elvette - the new Elf who's got Santa's List. You know the saying - he's going to be checking it twice.

2015.10.31 - MIC Elves

The sentiment is one Zoe shared on the Make it Crafty Facebook page a few weeks ago.

2015.10.31 - MIC Elvette 1

2015.10.31 - MIC Elvette 2

In the past I've been really freaked out by images that have blank eyes. After watching Zoe's Periscope colouring broadcast last week I now understand how to colour them and don't feel afraid any more. In fact I'm really pleased with her her eyes turned out (ignore the mistakes elsewhere - I was just so pleased with her eyes!)

Baby It's Cold Outside with KennyK

Two of my favourite things come together today - well no three actually!
KennyK Stamps are sponsoring Through the Purple Haze Challenges and I've combined my image with a Make it Crafty background! The theme is Baby It's Cold Outside but Hot Inside.

I used Blair Blaze from KennyK  and decided to colour her in a cool colour tone rather than a hot flame.

I coloured her using cool blue Copics

Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04 with R20 Cheeks
Dress - B000, B02, B05, B14, Sakura Stardust Gel Pen

At an angle the light catches the shimmer of the Sakura Stardust pen so you can see it.

The background is Birch Forest from Make it Crafty

I coloured the sky with BV20, BV23, BV25
The trees are E51, E53, W1, W3
The Cast shadows are C2 & C3

Hope to see you join in at Through the Purple Haze Challenges
