Change of Venue for the Newton Crop

I've got some news about the Newton Crop. People were keen to keep it running but unfortunately continuing at the Scout Hall wasn't viable unless we put the price up significantly. As a result I've cancelled our booking. Don't panic - we've got an alternative arranged.

My Mum and Dad have offered their house for us to use for the crop so from now on the Newton Crop will be at their house in Stoke-in-Teignhead

I understand it's a bit further for people to drive (particularly from Plymouth), but hopefully it'll be good for everyone.

We've ended up well in the negative in the bank because of several months of low numbers at the scout hall in the last year so I will ask if people are happy to pay £5 for the first crop to bring me up to being even.

After that we won't have any hall hire fees or parking charges (we'll just do a bit of a donation for tea/ coffee and biscuits), so it will be pretty much free. It gives us flexibility because if only a handful of people can come on any particular month it really doesn't matter.

Three things to note:

1. It's an old farm house with thick walls so mobile phone reception isn't good.

2. The light around their big table isn't brilliant (overhead spots), so if you can bring any daylight lamps you have that would be great. The table is a lovely huge big wooden one which we can all fit round which will be lovely.

3. We could have a crop on the 21st August. I know that's in the middle of the school holidays so may be no good to people, but let me know if you fancy it.

The remaining dates for this year are:
Sunday 25th Sept
Sunday 30th Oct
Sunday 27th Nov

Other than those couple of challenges it's a lovely place and there's plenty of parking.

We're always happy for new people to join us.

Cheap Photo Processing

Jessops have cheap deals on photo processing at the moment. Short notice as the offers run out on the 20th, but I thought it was worth letting you know in case it's of any use for printing out photos to scrapbook. I've just ordered all our wedding photos (over 900) as 6x4 plus lots of the nicer ones as 7x5.

The offers are:

6x4 prints 3p each

7x5 prints 5p each

10x8 prints 50p

They also have 40% off canvases and a few other offers as well.

Postage is £1.99 I think or you can have them delivered to a Jessops store for free.

Hope that's of use to someone x

Blog Giveaway at Rainbow Studios

How would you like to win these beautiful stamps?

Rachel and Angela have a giveaway for two of their lovely new stamps. Have a look here to see how you can win and to become a follower on their blog. You need to be quick tho as the draw is at 12 tomorrow!

I've not managed to do much craftwise this week as I've been battling with a mamouth photobook with lots of our wedding photos in. They look lovely when they're done but take days to get sorted on the website. Andy's started night shift so I'm limited to quiet crafting during the day at the moment! I have a lovely cupcake stamp from Rainbow Studios that I can't wait to play with but I think it'll have to wait until the Newton Crop on Sunday.

Lots of Pictures

Quite a few cards to post this time as it's weeks since I've put any pictures on. I must admit having Diva has severely cut down my crafting time. It's been a busyish month with events tho so I've made a few cards. Unfortunately the colours have come out very oddly in the photos - I'm not sure why.

21st Birthday card for my sister Suzie

The background is organza ribbon wound round the card blank and the image is a free digi stamp from Little Claire

This birthday card for my Mum uses one of the free images from Digital Two for Tuesday I loved the vintage look and the fact that it was a more intricate image than I usually use. It reminds me of the view from the holiday flat they have in Lyme Regis.

I used my Craft Robo to make this card for my Godfather's Ruby Wedding Anniversary. I love making cards that are that bit unusual. This one folds flat to go in the envelope but has a stand to make it stand upright.

Another vintage image from Digital Two for Tuesday this time for our Mother's Day cards. I can see myself using this image lots. I had a play and coloured it in all different combinations with Promarkers.

The bottom is done with the Papermania daisy border punch which I love but wish coped better with thicker cardstock.

Finally a birthday card for my sister-in-law April.

I saw the idea on this blog and loved it so much that I made several more to keep in the emergency box (for when I'm disorganised). I need to make some cards to sell on the Torbay M.E. Support Group stall at the Preston Picnic in July - I might make some of these I think.

Diva's doing well. She's growing quickly - she's put on 2kg in the last month (which is about right luckily) and is definitely developing her personality. Shes still very timid with people unfortunately so that's something we'll have to keep working on. We start adolescent puppy training class at the end of the month which will be interesting.

It's a hard life!

I'll leave you with a picture of her doing an impersonation of Ricky Hatton in his fight with Manny Pacquiao!

Happy Birthday Andy

Happy Birthday oh Husband of mine! It's been an odd few weeks but things are finally beginning to settle down.

His card from Diva made him laugh out loud!

Coffee and Walnut cake - one of his favourites!

We've had a good week with Diva. She's settling in and beginning to find her feet. She's worked out how to play with toys (some of the time), has been to the beach for the first time and has discovered that cheese is her favourite treat. She's still timid meeting people, but is getting there gradually. It's amazing - it's hard to remember what life was like before her.

Loads more pics of her for you to see.

High Vis Jacket so we can see her at night - how stylish!

A New Addition

We'd like to introduce everyone to our new addition.

She's called Diva (short for Astralune Trudi-va) and is a five month old brindle boxer pup who joined the Gregg family yesterday. I must admit we're totally in love with her already!

She's settling in well and loves cuddles and fusses from both of us. She barked & whined a bit last night when she went to bed on her own but settled after about an hour and stayed happy throughout the night. We took her over to my Mum and Dad's this afternoon so she could explore their big garden. She's still quite timid at the moment so prefers to stay close to us and hasn't got the idea of chasing balls etc yet.  It's tiring being a pup so her main occupation at the moment is sleeping.

Apologies in advance for lots of photos of Diva on here!

Stampin Up Goodies

Sooooo many lovely Stampin Up Goodies! I'm a very lucky girl - I had birthday money from Andy to spend and everyone who came to the party was very generous so I got lots and lots of goodies!

The things I bought with my birthday money.

Sale-a-bration stamp sets
 - lucky me I got 2!

Hostess set!

and more hostess goodies!
I've always wanted the All in the Family set but had never saved up enough. I'm going to have fun with these!

I made these little Thank You gifts to go in with people's orders. They're based on the make and take Linda did at the party.

We had a bad week last week so the Newton Crop on Sunday was the first time to play. I came up with these cards

These two were based on the Demo Linda showed us. They use the swirly stamp from the Always Elegant set to make patterned paper, the scalloped square punch and the adorable owl from the Sale-a-bration set.

Background made with swirly stamp from Always Elegant set stamped with Versamark on Lidl card. Owl from the Sale-a-bration set and sentiment from the Level 3 Hostess Set

Background made with swirly stamp from Always Elegant set stamped with Versamark on Lidl card (I love that stamp - I can see myself using it lots). Toppers made with All in the Family set.

This is the Jumbo roller with babygros on it and I love it. I'm at the age where loads of my friends are having babies so I can see it having lots of use. I was just having a play here to see what worked.

Two final pictures - the first two pages to go in our wedding scrapbook. I've made up my Creative Memories Make a Wish album with 2 sets of pages and protectors so it's all ready to be filled.

I had a voucher for an enlargement from Photobox so decided to print this photo as 12 x 12 to fill a whole page of the scrapbook.

This is a really simple page, but I loved the idea when I saw something similar in a magazine. The leaf ribbon I found in Newton Abbot with Linda really finishes it off - it didn't look quite right before.

It was lovely to see everyone at the Newton Crop. Thanks for being so supportive everyone xxx
