Since we came on this little adventure, I've had no choice but to loosen the reigns where naps are concerned. We only have one pack n play, and -- surprise! -- Avery can climb right on out of it. So there is no longer the "cage" option. I mostly just have to wait until she gets so tired, she passes out on her own.
One day, it got suspiciously quiet in my room. This is what I found.
I love not having stairs. One morning Avery knelt by a babbling Evan and said, "good morning Enan!"
But something's got to give. She was up so late the other night running around saying "I'm so happy here".
Looks like I'm going to have to summon my inner Super Nanny.
Now Evan has no problems with naps because he gets shut up in a dark cozy closet. He has two options. closet #1...
...or closet #2 (depending on which room Avery is not in).
That yellow blanky from Gma Cook is his favorite. He full body monkey hugs it when I lay him down.
I just hope when he gets older he doesn't think we Harry Potter-ed him.

you should put evan in the pack n play if avery no longer uses it ...
he slept there last night, but during the day he is closet-ed so all the noise in this little apt doesn't waken him.
I love that she's running around saying something so positive like, "I'm happy here." Cracks me up. I guess she could be screaming hysterics or something.
We always sleep our babies in closets when we're on trips - it's the only way they'll nap!
I guess I'll have to go read the book just so I can understand your H. Potter reference there.

Kelli...I died laughing when you said you hope Evan doesn't think you Harry Potter-ed him. My sis-in-law has a closet under her stairs that we refer to as the Harry Potter closet. All the cousins have grown up afraid of it. :) Tiffany....go read the books RIGHT NOW!!! Saydi and I are on pins and needles waiting for the 1st part of the last movie to be released. :)
