double whammy

Is whammy really the right word? I just think of that old game show, Press Your Luck and the little whammy cartoon guys that would wipe out the scores. No Whammies, NO WHAMMIES!! Heh! Sorry, got stuck in memory lane there for a sec... loved that show... So today I thought I'd do 2 challenges in one, both from splitcoaststampers - Tuesday's color challenge {groovy guava, whisper white, and sahara sand} and Wednesday's sketch challenge. This one is pretty straight forward, but I used blender pens with my classic ink pads to color in the image and then I traced over it with diamond Stickles. Such an awesome way to add glitter without making a huge mess.

Detail shot

There is another scrapbook challenge over at the Pagemaps blog, so I'll be checking that out. Maybe if I enter enough times I'll eventually win, right? sigh...

Thanks for stopping by - see you back soon!

christmas blessings

Yes, it's time to start thinking Christmas - trying not to procrastinate too much this year and when I saw this sketch at Clean & Simple Stamping I immediately thought of the City of David stamp set. I stamped the city in chocolate chip craft ink and then clear embossed it. To shade the oval, I cut out an oval template and then just used a sponge to fill it in with creamy caramel classic ink. One Christmas card done, 59 more to go! ha!

Have a wonderful day - thanks for stopping by.

sunday scrapbook - 1

Hello and happy Sunday! I'm going to try and motivate myself to scrapbook by posting pages here on my blog for you every week. Sometimes that is the kick in the tush I need to get motivated. A good friend and I went to a crop Saturday night and this is the page I did there. Yes, THE page - 6 hours at a crop and 1 page completed. I told you I was a slow cropper! I just like to chat and it takes me about 1/2 the time to figure out what I even want to do. Anyway, this page is from a sketch at pagemaps (January maps) and worked so great with the pictures I had of Andrew. And the Jersey designer series paper from Stampin' Up! works perfectly. I love that packet of paper! I even used my own handwriting this time - yikes! I have to throw it in there once in a while to 'document my growth' too. I need to add a subtitle to the bottom of the photo accent box, but I need to figure out what I want to put there. Maybe I'll just leave it and take the lazy way out... ha!

Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by.

inspired friend

Hello! It's already time for Kristina's color inspiration this week - where has the time gone?! This week's colors are whisper white, rose red, regal rose, and sage shadow. Yes, soooo out of my color comfort zone. I'm not one to play with green and pink together, but there again is the 'challenge' portion of her inspiration. I used textured white cardstock to get the feel of fabric. Not so sure about the rub-on. Maybe I should have left it off? Too late now I suppose - it will grow on me.

Thanks so much for stopping by! See you back soon -

featured stamper challenge

Hello there! I haven't done the featured stamper challenge over at splitcoast for a while and thought it would be a nice way to get a quick card done and boy was I right. This week it's Stephanie Hargis and her gallery is amazing. I chose this card to CASE and as usual didn't change much about it. I chose different colors and paper, but kept the rub on and paper piercing. That's it really - super fun, super easy card.

Hopefully I'll be able to find time to scrapbook this weekend - we shall see...

paper: marigold morning cardstock, party pieces (simply scrappin')
