Welcome to day FOUR of MFT Teasers!  Today, we're showing a little sneak of Doodle Garden Hunny Bunny and Springtime Wishes.

I made a card using Springtime Wishes for you today.

I started with this month's MFT Guest Designer Sketch (there are a few more days to play!) and stamped this sweet girl in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card Stock and then colored her with Copic Markers.  I stamped her again on some Collectable - Memorable 6x6 paper from My Mind's Eye and paper pieced her bow and dress and then cut her out with an Oval STAX Die-namics.  I added some Whip Cream Ribbon around the card to hide the paper seam and then used the Squiggle Border Die-namics along the bottom.

I tied the Notched Tag Die-namics to the card with some ecru perle thread.

I used another sentiment from the set for the inside of the card in Black Licorice Ink and added more fancy stitching.

For my card tonight, I used Western Sentiments and the layout is MOJO278.

I grabbed some of my new Collectable - Unforgettable 6x6 papers from My Mind's Eye and cut out a Hexagon STAX Die-namics and stamped the sentiment right on top of the pattern in Kraft Ink.

I sewed it onto another hexagon in Kraft Card Stock and and added a few pearls underneath to dress it up a bit.  I also added a Leaf-Filled Flourish Die-namics peeking out from under the sentiment and placed a couple small pearls within the flourish.

The inside of the card is filled with more of the same patterned paper pack and I added a sentiment from You Make My Day in Kraft ink, leaving room for a personal note.

MFT Wednesday Stamp Club

Hello!  It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another fun sketch challenge from MFT!  Here's a look at the sketch:

I made a card using Complimentary Greetings after I received the sweetest note from my daughter's teacher yesterday and I just had to make something special for her (this just shows you how last minute I really do stamp, haha!)  She makes me so proud and honestly, she makes me look like a fabulous parent - she's always kind to her teammates and classmates and she has this sense of humor that always cracks me up.  Quick as a whip!

I started with a Kraft Card Stock base and some Collectable "Notable" 6x6 papers from My Mind's Eye.  I stamped the sentiment on Whip Cream Card Stock in Kraft Ink (have you noticed how much I LOVE this color??) and cut it out with a Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics.  I used some Tangy Orange Buttons to embellish the flag.

I used the Open Hexagon Borders Die-namics as my vertical element and I filled in the negative spaces with various patterns from the Notable paper pack.

On the inside of the card, I stamped another sentiment in Kraft Ink and then used more of the hexagons to fill space in the lower corner.

Welcome to day TWO of MFT Teasers!  Today, we're showing a little sneak of Laina Lamb Design Journal It - Library Card and Document It - Right This Way.

I made a scrapbook page!  I KNOW!  What?  I had this sweet little picture of my 2 youngest kiddos from a summer trip to the library and I just had to use it with these new sets.

I started with an 8" x 8" base of Kraft Card Stock and chose patterned paper from the Remarkable 6x6 pack by My Mind's Eye.  I printed the picture in a 3.5" size and then popped it up over the green paper, which I cut out with the new Insert It - 3 x 4 Notebook Paper Die-namics.  The library pocket is made using Whip Cream Card Stock and I stamped the image from Journal It - Library Card in Kraft Ink.  The pocket itself is the new Insert It - 3 x 4 Pocket Die-namics and I love the little angled front of it.  So cute!

I needed a little extra something in the bottom right corner of my page, so I used this small sentiment stamp from Journal It - Library Card in Kraft Ink.  I really like the Kraft Ink on Kraft card stock - so soft and subtle.

In the top corner I layered 3 different fishtail flags - the blue is a Mix & Match Banners Die-namics, the red and the yellow are both from Accent It - Labels & Tabs Die-namics. And I cannot seem to leave any banner naked, so I added some straight stitches along the top.

I added a couple accent pieces using Document It - Right This Way with Wild Cherry Ink and...

Kraft Ink.  I stamped STORY in Wild Cherry ink and added By The Letters Die-namics underneath.  The date is from Document It - Days & Dates, and added a few Wild Cherry Buttons.

Along the bottom left I added some arrow accents from Document It - Right This Way and some clear rhinestones.  There is another arrow image in Sno Cone Ink, but the photo makes it look so faded, so it's difficult to see.  You might have to get really close to your screen. *wink*

Welcome to day ONE of MFT Teasers!  Today, we're showing a little sneak of Embellished Eggs and Spring Backgrounds from Lisa Johnson Designs.

I'm using both new sets on my card tonight - I started by cutting out some Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics in Sweet Tooth Card Stock and then stamped them each with a different background from Spring Backgrounds.  MFT is introducing 3 new inks this month too!!  I've used 2 - Grape Jelly Ink and Pink Lemonade Ink on the flags, and the third is Sour Apple Ink, which I sponged on the Hexagon STAX Die-namics for the grass.  I sponged some Sno Cone Ink as the sky.  The layout here is RS #48 from Retro Sketches.

I used the new Easter Elements Die-namics to cut out the little chickie and easter eggs.  I stamped the eggs in Sno Cone Ink and Pink Lemonade Ink.

I added another Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics inside the card and stamped it with one of the Spring Backgrounds stamps in Sno Cone Ink.

The sentiment is from Embellished Eggs and I stamped it in Black Licorice Ink.

MFT Wednesday Stamp Club

Hello!  It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another fun sketch challenge from MFT!  Here's a look at the sketch:

I made a card using Clearly Sentimental about Coffee.

I changed the sketch up just a bit by dividing the main image panel in half so I could dress it up a bit for this lovely sentiment.  I stamped the sentiment in Black Licorice Ink, which is the very BEST ink for bold sentiments and solid images - the coverage is AH-MAZING!  Seriously, you will love it.  I used up some scraps of Lost & Found 3 Ruby 6x6 papers from My Mind's Eye and then divided them up with the Pinking Edge Die-namics in Steel Grey Card Stock.  Instead of a flower, I added a Black Licorice Button trio in the corner and then repeated the zigzag feature over the Simply Scallops Small Die-namics.

I stamped another sentiment from the set inside the card on Whip Cream Card Stock and added more stitching around the edges.

MFT Creative Challenge | Circle STAX

The MFT Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique. This month, we were challenged to create with our Circle STAX.  Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all participating designers who have a project to share with you today.

For my card today, I used Circle STAX Set 2 Die-namics to make some 3D balloons.

My card is a happy little scene, high in the sky with Sno Cone Card Stock and Jumbo Cloud STAX Die-namics made from Sweet Tooth Card Stock.  The sentiment is from the set, On the Line.

I have a tutorial for you today and these fun 3D elements really make a card pop!

Here is how I made the balloons:

Supplies needed:

  • Patterned paper (I am using Happy Days 6x6 from Echo Park)
  • Circle STAX Die-namics (I am using Circle STAX Set 2)
  • Scoring pad or paper trimmer with a scoring tool
  • Bone folder
  • Glue (I am using Best Glue Ever, which lets me move the paper in place before it sets)

First, out 6 circles from your patterned paper.

After cutting them, score each circle down the center with a bone folder to create a nice straight crease.  This particular circle size is 1-1/4", so I scored it at 5/8", which I marked with black ink so you can see.

Choose which side of the patterned paper you'd like your balloon/sphere to be and fold so your chosen pattern is on the inside of the fold.  I want my sphere to be red, so I folded the red inside like so -

Once the circles are folded, glue each outside edge together, making sure the glue is fairly close to the outside edges.  You don't want to have gaps between the papers, but you don't want glue oozing out either.

Continue to glue the halves of the circles together until you've created a nice little stack of 6.

When you lay it flat, it is a nice little hemisphere.  Math and paper crafting go together like peas and carrots.

After assembling the dimensional balloon, I glued it over the top of a piece of Flax Twine and fluffed up the balloon so it's nice and even.

The best part about these fun embellishments is you can lay them flat and slip the card into an envelope for mailing.  After the card arrives, it is super easy to re-fluff them for display.

Be sure to stop on over to the MFT Blog for a complete list of all the designers playing along in this month's Creative Challenge.
