I found my little Avery Lollipop stamp from Stamping Bella and was intent on using it for this week's sketch and I'm not sure she really fits in that circle, but she's so darn cute, she's staying!  haha!  This is the first time I've made a blondie - first time in my whole stamping life.  I guess I'm surrounded by dark-haired people, I forget there are other colors out there, lol!  This little girl reminds me of my sweet little niece :)  She left my daughter a message on the phone the other day that just melted my heart - saying how much she missed Avery and loved her.  Aw!!  Love her!

The Sweet Sunday Stampers have amazing sketch samples to show you today, so stop on by to see:
Thanks for taking on the challenge this week!

Michelle's surprise birthday blog hop!

Happy Birthday Michelle!

If you've come from Denise's blog, you're in the right place and if you've missed the party completely, catch all the fun starting at Kellie's blog.  The Stamper's Dream design team is throwing a little party for Michelle featuring all or our favorite Just Rite stamps and today I'm using a really fun birthday set, Let's Celebrate.  I wanted to accent the nested square frame, so I just duplicated the look in my card layout.  That was easy!  For a little added punch, I added some little rhinestones along with a button bow (you know how I love those!).

Michelle, I hop(e) you have a wonderful day full of blessings!  Wishing you all the best, girl!!

The next stop on the hop is Cindy -

Thanks for stopping by!
Karen

recipe -
stamps: let's celebrate (just rite stamps)
paper: bazzill textured, vanilla cardstock, early bird (cosmo cricket)
ink: memento rich cocoa
accessories: square/scallop nestabilities, red grosgrain ribbon, playground buttons (SU), embroidery floss, micro twinkle dots (a.muse), dimensional tape

Saying goodbye

Our very sweet and fun and amazing neighbors are loading up their moving truck today.   It is always sad to see such wonderful people move away, especially when the kids are all really good friends.  I made this card for them using MOJO143 for the layout and this cute little Inky Antics stamp from On the Move.  That is totally how I pack - just throw everything in there, even the house plant, haha!  The papers are Jack & Jill from the My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary collection, one of my new favorite paper packs!  The image is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink on Neenah white cardstock and colored in with Copics and I added a few Celery silk bows.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  See you back soon~
Karen

recipe -
stamp: on the move (inky antics)
paper: prism intense teal, blush red medium, neenah white cardstock, jack & jill (my mind's eye)

Center of Attention Product Spotlight - Liquid Adhesives

Each month, part of the Baker's Dozen participates in a product focus and this month we're shining the spotlight on liquid adhesives.  Everyone has a favorite and we're here to show you adhesives some of you may be familiar with as well as some that you may not be so familiar with.  As a bonus, each of the liquid adhesives are 15% off in the TE store through June 27th!

My focus is on Tombo Multi Liquid Glue - one of my absolute favorite adhesives to use with chipboard as well as those small embellishments like Multi-color Twinkles.  Not only will it work perfectly with chipboard, but it works brilliantly adhering paper to metal, like alterable tins.  It can work as both a permanent glue as well as a repositional adhesive, which comes in handy with stencils!  The reason I love using Tombo Multi on chipboard is its incredibly forgiving nature - you can add all the glue you need and then wiggle the chipboard in place, spreading the glue out evenly over the chipboard and paper.

I like that it doesn't set instantly, but it still dries quickly so I can begin filing the cardstock edges smooth.  The wide angled applicator makes it extremely quick and easy to cover large areas and the small applicator tip gives you more control for those tiny embellishments or small letters, which I'll show you in just a second.  Another bonus with this adhesive is a little goes a long way!

I made a little chipboard tag album to show you and I used the Tombo Multi on everything - the cardstock, patterned paper, photos, and Twinkles.
To adhere the letters down, I added just a few dots of glue and then wiggled the cardstock into place.  The glue dries clear, so if it oozes out from underneath the paper, you can let it dry and wipe it away later.  I don't recommend wiping it clear when the glue is still wet, as it will stay on your fingers and is incredibly sticky.  I added little dots of glue for the Twinkles and used tweezers to apply them to the glue.  Again, lots of wiggle time, so you can adjust the spacing until the glue sets.

Alright, so the story behind "hi.  it's me Andrew" is my incredibly adorable son, coincidentally named Andrew, is such a funny little guy.  He has this crazy habit of walking into the room and getting my attention by saying - you guessed it, "Hi.  It's me, Andrew."  hahahaha!  I thought that would be the BEST title for this little brag book.  I cut the letters out using my brand spanking new Silhouette SD {the fonts are Bambi Bold, Brody, and CK Racer} and I also added a little 4 to the tag since this sweet little guy is, yep, 4.  The book is very clean and simple, not a lot of fluff.  I love it.  Here are the different tags:

This adorable little guy was helping me practice taking photos for my photography class - this is when he was still cooperating.  He broke down in tears later...

My husband summed this one up best:  Thought bubble.... I love you ice cream.  mmmm.

One of my favorite little moments - you may have seen this photo before *wink*

Andrew's first pony ride at a birthday party.  I know, right?!!  I thought that was only in fairy tales too!

Doggie.  He's the bestest sleepy time pal and general make-you-feel-better love pet.

Don't forget about the rest of the product focus gang!  They have some amazing projects for you too!

Thanks for stopping by!

Taylored Expressions Blast From the Past Blog Hop

Hello!!  Taylored Expressions is hosting a blog hop featuring TE sets we all love which were released through March 2010 - AND one luck participant will win a Taylored Expressions stamp set of their choice!  Don't worry, if you missed out on the blog hop this month you'll have another chance to sign up for the next hop - the more the merrier :)

This month we have an optional Inspiration challenge - LOVE these colors together, don't you?  They happen to match the Udderly Sweet Project Pantry Kit, so I grabbed the ribbon and papers from it first thing.  I love how versatile these papers are! Not just for Farmin', haha!  I started off with the MOJO144 sketch and stamped the butterfly from Discover Your Wings in Memento Tuxedo Black on both the textured blue cardstock and yellow patterned paper.  After paper piecing the butterfly, I added a few Aqua Rhinestones in the center and down on the flowered paper as well as some Taylor's Tiny Twinkles along the scalloped border.  The sentiment is from Branching Out and I stamped it on Choice Buttercream cardstock and cut it out with a Labels 1 Nestabilities die template.

Thanks for joining our little blog hop today - I hope to see you at our next one!

Karen

recipe -
stamps: discover your wings, branching out
paper: all from the Udderly Sweet Project Pantry Kit
ink: memento tuxedo black
accessories: labels 1 & square/scallop nestabilities (Spellbinders), Taylor's Tiny Twinkles, red satin ribbon, aqua rhinestones (kaisercraft), scallop border punch (stampin' up!)

Oh Crop!

As in "Oh crop, this card is L-A-T-E!  I think I had gigantic expectations to get a card stamped while my husband was out golfing.  So here I am, stamping after the kiddos went to bed and posting late.  This card is for SSSC74 and I'm using stamps from Udderly Sweet by Taylored Expressions.  Little Farmer Cuppie is stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored in with Copic Markers; I also used papers from the Udderly Sweet Project Pantry Kit as well as some Bits of Bling and my favorite new Daisy Chain punch.  Of course I put the daisies on before adding the image panel and they are all hidden underneath it!  Goofball - should have put them along the bottom!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

My heart has melted

Ok, I'm so sorry that you may have stopped here looking for some crafty cards, but I guess you'll have to settle for this...

Oh my!  I just couldn't resist posting it - she's such a doll!  We were going to a Princess Story Time at a local cupcake shop this afternoon, but my niece woke up with a bug.  So she brought over this adorable tutu peace offering.  So sweet!

Going the Distance

It has been a loooong time since I've posted a scrapbook page {OK, it's been a long time since I've actually made one, let's get real here} and I was going through photos and found these little cuties.  My son, he's such a character.  The kids were out front playing and Andrew decided to race all his little plastic cars and trucks down the driveway, but he didn't just set them up and go - each car had it's assigned place.  He was cracking me up!  Asking me to help him and then redoing everything when I finished {kind of like me reloading the dishwasher to make things fit better - you know what I mean...}.  Sometimes I just want to mess with him and switch a car last minute. hehe!  Bad mom.  What I love about these pictures is how he has chalk all over his legs and skinned up knees and a Buzz Lightyear bandage on his Fred Flintstone foot - he's all boy and so proud of his flip flops, haha!

Anyone else struggle with journaling?  I'm not known for my brilliantly written blog posts, so why should my scrapbook pages be any different?  My vocabulary consists of "cute, adorable, gorgeous, brilliant, and beautiful".  Call it the curse of a math major.  hahaha!  So instead of writing my own journaling, I thought I'd use the lyrics from Going the Distance by Cake - pure genius, right?  Ok, maybe not, but my husband got a chuckle out of it.  Anyway, until I can think of something "brilliant" to write in that huge journaling space, I'll keep this :)  That's the great thing about digi scrapping!  Until you print it, you can change it up.

The layout is a clip-able 2-page layout from Jessica Sprague - I grab these up when she puts them on sale for $1 on One Buck Wednesdays!  Seriously, these are such a time saver!  The paper kit is Rambunctious by Julie Billingsley which is so completely "adorable" for boys!

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Rite Release

Hi gang and happy Monday!  It's release day for Just Rite Stamps over at Stamper's Dream and the Dream Team is having a little blog party to celebrate.  I'm featuring two sets, Victorian Nested Frames and All Occasion Nested Centers & Verse, which are designed to stamp together to give you all sorts of sentiment choices.  The nested frames come in 3 different designs in both sizes, so you can mix and match or keep them the same and they fit the new Clear Horizontal Stamper Set!  I chose a simple layout for the card to showcase the frames and added a mix of kraft cardstock with October Afternoon's Fly a Kite and The Thrift Shop papers - love that soft look!  I attached a chocolate satin button bow and tied it with some embroidery floss and added the little butterfly with a few small rhinestones for dimension.  Stop on by the store and see what's new!

There are quite a few Just Rite Stamps sets releasing today, and the Dream Team is showcasing them all, so be sure to swing by and see:

Happy Birthday Taylor!

Good morning and Happy Saturday!  It's a very fun and fabulous day because it's Taylor's birthday and the Baker's Dozen and Sketch Crew are celebrating Taylor with a fun-filled blog hop in her honor!  I would sing, but no one wants to be put through that kind of torture, so I'll sing at CHA next month.  Bwahaha! I hope you have a fabulous birthday, Taylor!

For my card, I thought it would be fun to use Sweet Indulgence and make sure Taylor is pampered today {she better be!} and I picked Taylor's TESC117 and the In the Kitchen Project Pantry Kit to go with this fun little stylin' image.  The image is stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa and colored in with Copic Markers and I added some Kaisercraft Clear Rhinestones for the lights on the mirror.  The flowers were made from the Daisy Chain punch and the die cuts are Labels 1 and Labels 4 Nestabilities.  Please stop by Taylor's blog and wish her a very happy birthday, she'll love each of your wishes.

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 72

Good morning - It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! Here is the deal: make a card with this layout and use the InLinkz button down at the very end of this post to enter your card. The links will close on Friday at 10 PM (Mountain Time), and I'll randomly select one card to feature on my blog on Saturday. So, as long as your card is linked by 10 PM Friday, your card will be in the drawing. Be sure to link directly to the blog post or gallery image which features your card. You may post a picture of the sketch on your blog, but please save the image to your computer first. Use the keyword SSSC72 if you plan to post your card in an online gallery.

I didn't think I was going to have a sketch sample for you guys today!  I'm getting out of Dodge for the night to celebrate my 9th anniversary and I've been trying to get everything in order for my BIL who is watching all 3 of my kiddos plus he'll have his 2 for a whole day and night!  Brave man!!  Anyway, I'm glad I found some time to sit down and, uh, stamp, because I love this card!  Is that braggy?  Hmm, sorry if it is, but you know how it is when you create a card that turns out WAY better in real life than you pictured in your head - you just want to scream from the rooftops.  Of course, if I did that at my house, my neighbors would definitely think I had jumped off the deep end, but you all - you understand, so I'm shouting!   hahaha!

I wanted to make something quick, so I grabbed the May Key Ingredients subscription kit from Taylored Expressions and went to town!  Done!  I just stamped the "dream" from Discover Your Wings and that's it.  The rest are adorable rub-ons and I LURVE them!  The only extra embellishment I added was the Yellow Pearls, those aren't included in the kit.  Wow, I must have had too much sugar before typing this - so sorry.  I know, you can roll your eyes and groan at my humor :D

The Sweet Sunday Stampers also have amazing sketch samples to show you today, so stop on by to see:
Thanks for taking on the challenge this week!

Taylored Expressions Release Party

It's a big day at Taylored Expressions - all of our new sets and Project Pantry kits are now available in the TE store!  I have lots to show you today, so grab a cuppa and get comfy.  The first set I would like to show you is Summer Afternoon, which is a perfect sister set to Discover Your Wings!

I started off with Taylor's TESC112 and some fabulous Fly a Kite and The Thrift Shop paper from October Afternoon (you know how much I HEART this paper!).  Silhouette stamps are so versatile and one technique I love to use is creating a sky or sunset background.  For my main image, I stamped the flowers in Memento Rich Cocoa and then sponged around the edges with Pumpkin Pie ink and then again toward the center with Summer Sun ink.  I love the depth the layered sponging creates!  For more dimension, I added the little dragon fly with Tiny Twinkles for his body.  The sentiment is cut out with a Labels 4 Nestabilities and sponged in Summer Sun while the paper was still in the die template.  I added some Dew Drops in the top corner as well.

My next card features Care & Comfort along with Summer Afternoon.  Care & Comfort is an amazing set of 9 sentiments we need when we need to lift up a friend or send prayers and sympathy.  I stamped the large frame image from Summer Afternoon in white craft in and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder and I love the distressed look it took from the textured cardstock.  The sentiment is stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa over the top of a Summer Sun butterfly from Summer Afternoon.  The papers and ribbon are from May's Key Ingredients subscription kit and I added a few Yellow Pearls and Clear Rhinestones for a little something extra.

My next card is SO much fun - I loved working with Hangin' Out at the Beach this week.  Makes me wish I didn't live in a land locked state and could just run to the beach and relax!!  I started with the MOJO141 sketch along with Snorkel paper and cardstock stickers from Cosmo Cricket.  The image is stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with Copic markers and the sentiment is sponged with Bashful Blue ink inside the Deckled Mega Rectangles Nestabilities.

Taylored Expressions has a gigantic gallery filled with amazing inspiration for all of TE's sets - Please swing by and check it out, you won't be disappointed!

It's been quite the release week here, so if you would like to see all of the new items from Taylored Expressions, stop by the Fresh Out of the Oven tab on the TE homepage.

More inspiration awaits you from the Baker's Dozen!  Swing by and see:

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Day 2

Hay there!  Teehee!  I'm back for more TE Sneaks and today we're splitting up to showcase 3 fabulous sets.  I'm giving you a peek at Udderly Sweet - how cute is Farmer Cuppie in overalls??  This adorable set is full of punny sayings matching Farmer Cuppie in his everyday farming routine, which will have you laughing while you make cards for all sorts of events and occasions.  To complete Farmer Cupie's look, TE has a new Udderly Sweet Project Pantry kit, bursting with cardstock, Garden Variety patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket, candy dots, specialty brads, ribbon and paper flowers - all for just $21.95!  I used the Sweet Stop's SSS57 for my layout and thought it would be kinda cute and fun to put some scallop oval "clouds" up over the barn.  Cuppie is stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa and colored with Copic markers.  I layered the yellow ricrac ribbon over the top of the green grosgrain ribbon and added a little red pepper brad.  SO adorable!  Yes, peppers are adorable :)

I'm back to announce some extremely exciting and fabulous news!  I can finally announce that I'm now officially a Stamper's Dream designer!!  Dream Team???  Me???  I can't even express into words how excited I am to work with these amazing stampers, so THANK YOU Michelle for the amazing invitation!  I hope to make you proud!

In honor of all this fun I'm having, I made this little Pirate Boy card - Arrrgghhh!!  haha!  The day it arrived in my mailbox, my oldest daughter grabbed it out of my hand and inked it up.  Can you say, a tad bit excited?  I guess she has a thing for pirates.  After tackling her down and grabbing it back, (oh, sooo kidding), I hand stamped the background with the little anchor and X marks the spot stamps.  The pirate is stamped on Neenah Classic Solar White cardstock and colored in with Copic markers.  I just had to use some really cute Old World patterned paper from Kaiser Craft and I used Mojo Monday's MOJO140 for the sketch.

Thanks for coming on by again - see you back soon!

Taylored Expressons Sneak Peek Day 1

Good morning!  Today the Baker's Dozen is kicking off 4 days of fabulous sneak peeks for the June release by showing off this adorable new charity set, Pet's Place!  Taylored Expressions supports various charities through the TE Giving Tree Program. There is a new stamp set introduced every 3 months to support a new charity. We are proud to bring you Pet's Place, the newest set in the Apple Doodle Ink line, to support The Humane Society of the United States.

The Humane Society of the United States is the nation's largest and most effective animal protection organization. The HSUS seeks a humane and sustainable world for all animals—a world that will also benefit people. They are America's mainstream force against cruelty, exploitation and neglect, as well as the most trusted voice extolling the human-animal bond. HSUS is also the lead disaster relief agency for animals, and they provide direct care for thousands of animals at sanctuaries and rescue facilities, wildlife rehabilitation centers, and mobile veterinary clinics. Read more about HSUS here.

Pet's Place will be available in the TE Store on Friday morning at 8 am PST. $7 from the sale of each set will be donated to HSUS. Please remember that sets in the Giving Tree Program are the same high quality deeply etched pink rubber on EZ Mount as all other TE stamp sets, however unlike our other sets, you will need to trim these images yourself. This allows us to cut production costs and donate more to our charities.

I just LOVE the sentiments that come with this set - they are so hilarious and perfect for any occasion that comes your way like birthdays, congratulations cards, apology cards, fun little scrapbook pages for your pets, and those cards to lift spirits too.  I have 2 projects for you - my first features the little bird with the "ruffled feathers", which cracks me up!  I started off with the Sweet Stop's SSS58 for the layout and used the new Pet's Place Project Pantry kit, which includes Max & Whiskers designer paper from My Mind's Eye along with all the coordinating accessories you'll need - soooo cute!!  You can pick up your Pet's Place Project Pantry kit for only $22.95 or add the Pet's Place stamp set for only $44.90, and $7 will be donated to the Humane Society.  You can see more details about the kit on Taylor's blog.  The image is stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored with Copic markers and I cut it out with Labels 4 Nestabilities, but while the paper was still in the die template, I sponged around the edges with blue ink to create the white border.  Very easy!  I added some Yellow Pearls in the corners as well, which are not included in the Project Pantry kit.

My next project is a very sentimental scrapbook-like layout I placed in a 5x7 frame using Taylor's TESC115.   This little cutie pie is Murphy.  A good friend of mine took me to the Denver Humane Society on my 24th birthday to buy me a puppy, and this wild and crazy little sweetie called my name.

She was listed as a German Shepherd, Boxer mix, but I later learned that she was in fact a German Shepherd, Great Dane mix - she grew to be quite large and earned the nickname Murphaduke for all her crazy shenanigans.  Murphy was a hyper dog, but she made me feel safe when I was living on my own and I loved hiking with her in our gorgeous Rocky Mountains.  This photo was taken the day I brought her home and you can see her little shaved belly from her little "operation", haha!  I look like such a baby in this picture, and wow, did I have long hair!!  Not really the math teacher look, huh? Murphy was great with all of my children, so gentile and loving.  We lost Murphy about a year and a half ago - she was almost 13 years old and really sick.  I miss her, especially when we take trips to the mountains.  OK, sorry, I didn't intend on getting all emotional here - lol!

Swing on by the rest of the Baker's Dozen and see more cute samples of Pet's Place - you won't be disappointed!
Thanks for stopping by!
