scalloped purse favor box that I am using as a 3-D card of sorts. I'll start off with the card I created using the
TECC62 sketch - so much fun! I just love this sentiment, "If friends were purses, I'd pick you!" - it's so stinkin' cute. I paper-pieced the purses using the same patterned paper from the card, which is from the Mother's Day Key Ingredients. This kit includes: Prism cardstock colors Island Mist Light, Blush Red Light, Blush Red Medium, Frosted Kiwi, Suede Brown Medium, Choice Buttercream. The patterned paper is from Crate Paper, Blue Hill Collection. There is also 5 yards of gorgeous ribbon, an assortment of shimmery flowers, and a package of Kaisercraft clear rhinestones. For the purse box I used 2 scalloped purse favor boxes - I cut the Blush Red Medium purse front off and ran it through the Cuttlebug with the D'Vine Swirls embossing folder. I added some Kaisercraft clear rhinestones inside the little curls and then glued it to the front of the Island Mist Light purse box. This creates the two tone look of it. I made another purse image medallion to place inside the box and then you can write a little note inside. Cute, no? So easy to make!

I've seen some stampers put together a set of coordinating cards using weekly sketches from around blogland and today I thought I'd post mine. I made these at the midnight crop (yes, I should have been working on scrapbook pages, but I didn't have any photos ready, shame!). I am nearing the end of my Maine Blueberry paper pack and I think this is the first time I'll use the whole thing! It's so sad - bye sweet blueberries.... I'm also using Trendy Trees (sentiments) and Cheep Talk for my images.

Hallelujah! I finally made a birthday boy card I love! This fantastic sketch comes from Laurie for this week's Weekend Sketch Challenge - isn't the sketch fabulous? It's very me - look at all that white space waiting to be ignored, ha! I've been seeing a lot of cards I love lately using Wild About You and I've been wanting to do something with it for a while. I stamped the lion in Pumpkin Pie two times and then cut out his little face to pop up. The mane was done by stamping the lion in So Saffron and then just dabbing the stamp in Pumpkin Pie again. It kind of gave it a stippled look. I couldn't figure out what to do with embellishments - where do I put the ribbon?! I just added the brads to add a little bit of focus towards the top of the card. Voila! The sentiment is stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Kelly Jo emailed me and told me she was starting up a new color challenge and I just had to swing on over to her blog and check it out. I was blown away by the colors - they are stunning together! I used Whisper White, Cool Caribbean (yes, I have a TON of this paper left), and Certainly Celery. Aren't they gorgeous? I was having trouble finding my mojo, so I hopped over to Clean & Simple Stamping and found this card and I was inspired. To create the look of patterned paper, I stamped Pretty Petals in Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I really like the look it created against the Cool Caribbean - I was pleasantly surprised! Thanks Kelly Jo for a great challenge today.
