Coffee Addict

I LOVE COFFEE!
I saw this temporary tattoo at Tattly.... yeah you heard me, tattoo! Awesome right.
I knew right away that I wanted to recreate it in picture form for my kitchen wall.
I love it!
...but not as much as coffee ;)

Happy Monday!

Story of Us Coloring Book

While I was packing to move I found our wedding box (filled with photos, programs, special mementos, etc.). Since it was just our anniversary on Saturday, I decided to peruse through it and I came across this:

I made these coloring books to give to all the kids that would be at our wedding, along with a little baggy of crayons. Even if you attended our wedding you might not have seen these if you did not have a child with you. It was fun to draw out the story of us, a great project. Have a look:

Cute huh?

It was as simple as:
- Using a computer to print out pages with the words.
- drawing the pictures in pencil and then outlining with a sharpie.
- Take the pages to a photocopier and make however many copies.
- fold the sheets in half, assemble the book, and staple at the spine.

And it was such a hit with all the kids, who sat and colored during the toasts and such.
It was neat to stumble upon this and I'm glad that I could share it with you.
It's such an easy project.  I was thinking about making personalized ones like these for the girls (for a road trip, special vacation, or just for fun).

Not as Easy as it looks...

Isn't the above picture sooo dang cute?

This idea is floating around blogworld and Pinterest (yes, I've finally been sucked into the vortex known as Pinterest and I have to say, I LOVE it! ...but more on that in a different post).
Using chalk to write out the childs name and have the child be a letter (more specifically the letter 'I' or 'L'). Now from what I've seen from people doing this are kids that lay down nicely and the pictures turn out fabulous like here and here.

But I have to say...not as easy as it looks folks!

Now since I didn't want S drawing all over it with chalk before I snapped the pictures, I decided to do the names while she was down for a nap. It was a hot summers day, so I put Baby in the stroller and after sweating profusely I was able to finish both names and snap a couple pictures of T before heading back into the house.

This was the best I got of her:

Yup, she is complaining in this one....I'm a horrible mother.

Now after S woke up I was pretty pumped to show her the surprise outside.
Well she was really excited about the drawings on the ground but wasn't to keen on laying on the cement....as you can see:

This was the only one where she was looking and sort of in the right spot:

And of course the name is cut off! What I was really hoping for was a couple of great pictures to hang in the playroom but these will have to do.
I took T out again the next evening when the whole pad was in the shade and she was happy to pose for me (the first picture). I had also done a butterfly, which I didn't even attempt to get S to lay down for, but T did. I think she looks adorable with wings!

This may be an idea I try again when both girls are quite a bit older, but it was worth a try!

Butterfly Canvas'

I just finished these canvas' last night! My husband has been encouraging me do some paintings for the new house (that we should be moving into at the end of March). This is my first piece of art out of three that I have planned. The size of canvas' used are 12 x 28 inches and the paint is acrylic. I did the background and considered leaving it the way it was(a little chicken to screw it up with other stuff) but decided that Monarch butterflies would be a nice touch, not to mention cheery!

The background pre-butterflies.

I have many more projects in mind for the new house so hopefully in the next month or so there will be tons of posts coming your way! Happy crafting!
