Popcorn

Hi, another short post from me as I’m still recovering from Covid. Luckily I had made this card a few weeks ago when my brain was working.

This card uses the inspiration photo and is loosely based on the sketch at Fusion. All these stamps and dies come from My Creative Time.

I used Copics to colour the images before arranging all the elements on a white card base.

That’s it from me, I’m afraid. Thanks for visiting and please check out the wonderful cards made by the design team.

Popping By

Hi all and thanks for popping by.  Today's card is for the latest challenge at Freshly Made Sketches where our hostess is Jen Brum.

I store my stamp sets in clear bins a la Jennifer McGuire and this stamp set was front and centre in my "Occasions" bin, so out it came and this card came together pretty quickly.  The big popcorn pieces were pre-stamped and colored from the last time I used this set, but I quickly colored the popcorn container and put a bit of shading around the ticket.

I die-cut all the images then arranged them, along with the red fishtail flag banner, onto a white card base.

Everything was adhered with liquid glue apart from the clapperboard and the popcorn container which were popped up on foam tape.  To finish the card I colored all the popcorn with clear sparkle pen.

The DT have created some gorgeous cards as usual, so I hope you'll check them out.

Products used:

Stamps:  Date Night, Popcorn Background (My Creative Time)

Cardstock:  White, Cherry Crisp (MFT), X-Press It
Dies:  Date Night, Popcorn Background (My Creative Time), Jumbo Fishtail Flag Stax (MFT)
Accessories:  Copics, Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen

Heart Pop

Hi!  I've been back at work for a week and already I need another holiday :)  In the meantime, I'm making the most of my weekend and getting as much stamping in as I can.  I made this card for my DH's Valentine's card.

I made it using this week's sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch, Muse, The Male Room's Anything Goes and CASology, where the cue word is "Simple".  My card reflects simple pleasures - popcorn is one of those simple pleasures in my opinion!

From Michele's fabulous Muse card, I (rather obviously) went with the popcorn theme, I used the same sentiment, from another set, and I stayed with the color scheme, although I did add some shading to the popcorn.

I stamped, colored and cut the popcorn pieces and container and arranged them around the sentiment which I stamped onto a white card base.  The popcorn container is popped up with foam tape.  A very simple card :)

Thanks for visiting.

Toy Dog

Hi!  I'm sneaking in with only a few hours to go on the current Winter/Holiday Coffee Lovers' Blog Hop.  I'm also linking up to CASology, where the theme is "Toy".  I chose to use a "toy dog" for my card :)

I actually made this coffee cup/dog combo last weekend, but couldn't get it looking good on a card.  I put it to one side and now I'm now to the last six hours of the Coffee Lovers' Challenge, I just had to make it work somehow!  I'm not in love with this card, but it'll do.

The wee dog, who looks a lot like our wee toy dog, was stamped, colored and die-cut.  The coffee cup is a MFT die and I sponged the edges to give some dimension.  I also stamped the "Merry Christmas" sentiment across the band using Soft Stone ink for a tone-on-tone look.

And that's pretty much it.  Thanks for visiting!

Poppin' By

Hi and welcome to Freshly Made Sketches.  This is our last challenge of the year and will be open for two weeks.  Linda - hilariously funny and super-talented Linda - is our hostess today and she has a sketch that you will find yourself using over and over again.

I used a new-to-me set from a new-to-me company and my card was heavily inspired by one made by my fellow FMS teamie, Cindy Lovell.  In fact, it was this card of Cindy's that got me ordering this set straight away.  I tried to not copy Cindy slavishly but you can definitely see where I was influenced :)  Thanks, Cindy!

I started with a white card base and over that I adhered a panel of Soft Stone cardstock cut with SugarPea's Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles dies.  I then die-cut a smaller white panel for the center.

Then I got to playing with the various stamps and dies in the Date Night set.  I colored up the popcorn image using Copics and just played with the arrangement until I was happy with it.  The sentiment is white-embossed onto black cardstock.

I finished off with a few sparkling clear sequins.

Thanks for visiting.  Please check out the rest of the design team and I hope you can take some time over the holiday break to have a play with the sketch.
