The current challenge at Merry Monday is staying open for another 5 days, so I thought I'd sneak in another critter card.
The stamps for this card were part of my Secret Santa package from a Merry Monday DT member. I was so spoiled with the goodies I got and this stamp is so adorable, I had to use it.
This stamp was drawn by the oh-so-talented Mo Manning and sold by Stamping Bella. I stamped it on Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored it with Copics. I kept the layout pretty simple as the stamped image is pretty big and really, such a cute image doesn't need much embellishment!
Here's the challenge graphic as a reminder.
It's New Year's Eve here and the first sunny day we've had since before Christmas. We've had a week of rain! My exciting plans for the evening include taking the dog for a walk after dinner once it cools down a bit and if I'm lucky I might be able to convince DH to join me and Dexter. Speaking of which, here's the cutest critter I know...
Thanks for looking.
Products used:
Stamps: Singin' So Beautiful (Stamping Bella)
Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black
Cardstock: Whisper White, Gumball Green
Accessories: Gumball Green marker, Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine, Copics
Cheers

Dexter's Birthday
Tomorrow is a special day in our house - it's Dexter's 2nd birthday. Dexter is our Bichon Frise and we love him to bits! And in completely pathetic fashion, I made Dexter a birthday card. I really wanted to put a row of doggy chocolates instead of the ribbon, but wasn't sure how to stick them down safely.
I wanted the images in the squares to be off-center and quirky but looking at the photo, they offend my desire for symmetry, so maybe I'll call that an experiment not to be repeated. The designer paper is from the long-retired but still plentiful (in my craft room) Sweet Slumber Specialty DSP.
I'm entering this card into three challenges: the sketch challenge at Fab Friday; the tic-tac-toe challenge at Paper Players (birthday; designer paper; ribbon) and the color challenge part of Friday Mashup.
And if you're interested, here is a picture of Dexter.
This is a quick post tonight, because I've just discovered the TV show Breaking Bad and am working my way through the seasons on DVD. About to commence Season 2 and keen to start watching LOL.
Thanks for looking.
Products used:
Stamps: D is for Dog; Patterned Party
Cardstock: Early Espresso; Cherry Cobbler; Very Vanilla; Sweet Slumber DSP
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories: Naturally Serif Die; Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding; Cherry Cobbler; So Saffron markers
Cheers

Dexter's Surgery
Our 6-month old puppy, Dexter, was fixed on Friday. While he was out of it, they also fixed a hernia he was born with. The poor wee baby was not happy when we got him home and he's not back to his usual self yet. I feel terrible because he looks at me as if I've betrayed him, but it's the responsible thing to do. Even though he's a purebred, we have no plans to breed from him, so it made sense to have him neutered.
When we got him home on Friday night, he shot off across the room and hid behind the curtain. He still spends a bit of time there even now. We have tried the horrible "cone on the head" to try and stop him licking his wound, but he just stands there like a statue until we remove it.
Here's a page I did in MDS:

Enhanced Sketch 1
Hi, first blog post! Been thinking about it for a while and joining Tink & Bell's Digital Scrapbooking Club was the catalyst to make me do something about it.
My first post is a layout created in MDS, using the Enhanced Sketch from the Club. For this layout, I stuck pretty faithfully to the sketch and just changed the 5-petal punch embellishments for the cog punch. I chose our new puppy, Dexter, as the subject of this layout and as he doesn't yet appreciate flowers, I used the more "manly" cogs LOL.
Products Used:
MDS: Small Polka Dot DSP in Soft Suede and Not Quite Navy; Vintage Overlays; Grosgrain Ribbon and Knot; Cog Punches. Font used was CK Alis Hand.
