Dark Snowy Night

Hi and welcome to the last post for the Fusion challenge.  I have decided to close down the challenge after a year of to-ing and fro-ing on the decision.  For today's card I decided to focus on the black and white colour scheme and the snowman from the photo.

Firstly I stenciled some white embossing paste onto a black card panel over a snowfall stencil.  While that was drying, I coloured and fussy-cut the snowman and die-cut some snow-drifts.  Onto one of the snow drifts, I stamped the sentiment.

I adhered the back snowdrift directly to the black panel and the foreground snowdrift and snowman were popped up on foam tape.

Thanks for visiting and a personal thank you to everyone who has played along in the Fusion challenges and the wonderful design team members over the years.

Products used:

Stamps:  Holiday Hugs Snowman, Hand Lettered Holiday (MFT)
Ink:  Amalgam (Gina K.), Versafine Onyx Black
Cardstock:  White, Black, X-Press It
Dies:  Snow Drifts (MFT)
Accessories:  Falling Snow Stencil (SSS), White Embossing Paste, Copics

Plate of Cookies

Hi it's time for another challenge from the team at Fusion and we have a Christmas theme going on this time.  I decided to focus solely on the gingerbread cookies and the sketch to come up with this card.

The plate of cookies and gingerbread man were stamped and coloured a year ago, so I can't remember which colours I used. I cut the images using my Scan n Cut and went to work on the rest of the card.  The card base is white and over that I added a piece of patterned paper to sort of look like a benchtop.  I white-embossed the sentiment onto Desert Storm cardstock and matted that onto a piece of cardstock to match the tea colour in the scarf of one of the gingerbread men.

The plate and extra gingerbread man was adhered with foam tape and I called it done!
Thanks so much for visiting.  Please head over to the challenge blog and check out the wonderful cards made by the design team.

Ink:  Amalgam (Gina K,) Versamark

Inky Thanks

Hi and welcome!  I'm here with my card for the latest challenge at Fusion.  This time I played with the sketch and pulled in the colours from the photo to come up with this card.

I hot-foiled the sentiment onto a white panel and then went to work with lots of alcohol inks to create the panel at the bottom.  Once I was finished, it was a bit bold, so I covered it with vellum to tone it down a bit.  Some strips of embossed cardstock completed the sketch and I finished with some red and white baker's twine.

Here's a photo showing the alcohol-inked panel under the vellum.

Thanks for visiting.  I hope you'll check out the fabulous cards made by the rest of the design team.

I'm playing along with the Thankful theme at Time Out Challenges.

Floral Arch

Hi!  Today's card is for the latest Fusion challenge where I played along with the photo inspiration to come up with this card.

I had just received these items from The Greetery and they were perfect to try and recreate the floral spray around the window in the photo.  I tried to mimic the colours.  I blended some ink on a die-cut arch to fit in the centre before adding the sentiments and used foam tape to pop up the floral image.  I finished with some irridescent gems.

Thanks so much for visiting.  Please check out the fabulous cards made by the design team.

Waxed Leaves

HI all and welcome to a new Fusion challenge.  I was a bit stumped with what to do for this challenge but then I saw the most amazing technique by Dawn Woleslagle from WPlus9 and I was immediately inspired to create this card.

When I saw Dawn's video, I immediately set out to buy the stencil set she used.  I had it in my cart and was about to push the button when I thought to check my stash and guess what?  I already had it and had never used it!  Doh!  Anyway, I set about creating the background following her video and using colours from the inspiration photo.  In keeping with the autumn theme, I die-cut and stacked some leaves and then randomly added foundry wax to them before heat-setting.

To keep the sentiment matching with the foundry wax, I gold embossed it onto black and then finished with some gold pearls.

Thanks for visiting.  Please check out the fabulous cards made by the rest of the design team.

Products used:

Front Porch Hello

Hi and welcome to another challenge from the team at  Fusion where this challenge we have an inviting front porch scene.  I chose to create a fusion of sketch and photo for my card.

I stamped and coloured the chair and plant pot with Copics and cut them out with my Scan n Cut.  Onto the card base I lightly stenciled over the brick wall stencil with Limestone ink and then stamped the "floor" with Sand Dunes ink.  I found a piece of patterned paper that had a small texture pattern and adhered that down the right side of the card base.  I then adhered the chair with liquid glue and popped up the pot with foam tape.

The sentiment was die-cut twice from Boysenberry cardstock and once from black and stacked, with the black layer slightly offset to create a shadow effect.

Thanks for visiting.  Please head over and check out the wonderful cards made by the design team.

Products used:

Stamps:  Inspired By The Front Porch - Fall (MFT), On The Ground (SSS)
Ink:  Amalgam (Gina K.), Limestone, Sand Dunes (Altenew)

Pinwheel

The new challenge at Fusion is a fun one and I combined both the sketch and the photo for my card.

The Pinwheel Party stencils and dies from The Greetery were perfect for this challenge.  After stenciling the main panel and then a couple of stand-along pinwheels, I created a frame by stacking three frame die-cuts together.  I also added gray circles to the centre of each pinwheel to give them a finished look.

The sentiment was die-cut from black and gray cardstock and adhered onto the card.

Thanks for visiting.  I hope you'll check out the fabulous cards made by the rest of the design team.

Products used:

Ink:  Pocketful of Sunshine set, Cool Summer Night set (Altenew)
Cardstock:  White, Black, Dove (C+9)
Dies:  Pinwheel Party (The Greetery), Bubble Craft Die (Woodware), Simply Celebrate (MFT), A2 Thin Frames (SSS)

Balloon Arch

Hi and welcome!  I'm here with my card for the latest challenge at  Fusion.

If I'm being honest, I would have to say I really don't like this card!  I thought I'd play along with the colours from the challenge and the sketch flipped upside down, but it's all a bit meh to me!

I used the Balloon Arch hot foil, die and stencil set and then hot foiled the frame and the sentiment,

Thanks so much for visiting.  I hope you'll check out the fabulous cards made by the rest of the design team.

Products used:

Ink:  Cloudy Sky (Altenew), Coral Cabana, Belline, Serene, Wintergreen, Apricot (Catherin Pooler)

Sympathy Lilies

It's time for another challenge from the team at Fusion and this time I went with the sketch and took in a few elements from the photo - the burgundy colour of the wine and the calla lilies.

I've had these flowers coloured up for quite a few years - they are part of a colouring class over at Kit and Clowder.  I used my Scan n Cut to cut them out and then went to work on the background.  After embossing a panel of Paver Red cardstock with a brickwork embossing folder, I then used my finger to add some foundry wax to the panel, focusing on the top left and bottom right corners.  I also used a paintbrush to splatter some over the whole panel (not to mention my deskop and my glasses too!) I adhered that to a white card base and finished with a simple sentiment.

Thanks so much for visiting!  I hope you'll check out the wonderful cards made by the DT.

Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black

Beach Hut

Hi and welcome to another Fusion challenge.  This time I played with just the photo and came up with this card.

Unfortunately the scale is a bit off, but I'm sure you get the idea 😄  The beach house was put together with cardstocks matching the inspiration photo and then I created the background with an older MMH monthly kit and a sentiment from MFT.

Thanks for visiting.  I hope you'll check out the wonderful creations made by my team-mates.

Hello Flowers

Hi!  Just a quick post from me today as I present my card for the latest challenge at Fusion.  I tried to recrate the hat in the inspiration photo and came up with this card.

Products from The Greetery and new-to-me Catherine Pooler inks were used to create the elements for my card.  The card base is cream and the two circles are die-cut from timber-patterned paper to mimic the door in the photo.

Thanks for visiting!  I hope you'll have time to check out the wonderful creations made by the design team and have a go yourself!

Striped Flowers

Hi and welcome to a new challenge over at  Fusion .  Today I went with the photo but added a couple of elements from the sketch.  I'm pretty sure you can see how the photo inspired me!

I used all of the dies in the Horizontal Stripes die set and cut each colour of cardstock with a different width die.  I then hot-foiled the sentiment onto the black strip and adhered them all to a white card base.

The floral arrangement was made from pieces left over from my FMS card this week so this card was fairly quick to pull together.  I arranged them onto a die-cut circle which I'd run through the Brick embossing folder and finished with some pearls with a gold hue to them.

Thanks for visiting.  I hope you'll check out the wonderful cards made by the design team and have a go yourself.

Products used:

Stamps:  In Bloom:  Addie's Garden (Winnie & Walter)
Ink:  Amalgam (Gina K)
Cardstock:  White, Grout Gray, Black Licorice (MFT), Dark Indigo (PTI), Fresh Aqua (Memory Box), X-Press It
Dies:  In Bloom:  Addie's Garden (Winnie & Walter), Inside/Out Stitched Circles, Horizontal Stitched Stripes (MFT) Slimline Confetti Hot Foil (Spellbinders)
Accessories:  Gold Hot Foil, Copics, Pearls (Honey Bee Stamps)

Golden Wheels

Welcome to the newest Fusion challenge.  I was mostly inspired by the sketch but also drew inspiration and colours from the photo to come up with this card.

I started by stamping the card base with a wood plank stamp and Fog ink.  I then did quite a bit of hot-foiling with gold foil, creating the rectangle panel, two circles and the sentiment.

The flowers are a new-to-me stamp and stencil combo which I stenciled with green and gray inks before die-cutting.

Finally, I arranged all the elements and decided not to add any embellishments.

Thanks for visiting.  I hope you'll check out the fabulous cards made by the design team.

Products used:

Stamps:  Dahlia (Pink Fresh); Wood Plank (MFT)
Ink:  Fog (SSS), Amalgam (Gina K), Morning Frost, Evening Gray, Parrt, Olive (Altenew)

Unicorns and Glitter

It's time for another challenge from the team at Fusion and we have a rainbow theme going on this time!  I created a fusion for my card, although my rainbow colours are not pastel like in the photo.  This is due to the starting point of my card being the cardstock strips which I had had made from many months ago and I couldn't be bothered making more!

This stamp set is new to me and is a Birdie Brown set.  I stamped and Copic-coloured the unicorn and rainbow and fussy-cut them out.

I was guided by the sentiment to add some glitter so pulled out a pad of glitter paper and chose the white sheet to add some interest behind the rainbow and under the striped panel.

Thanks so much for visiting.  I hope you'll check out the fabulous cards made by the DT.

Products used:

Stamps:  Magical Unicorns (MFT)
Ink:  Amalgam (Gina K.), Versafine Onyx Black

Popcorn

Hi, another short post from me as I’m still recovering from Covid. Luckily I had made this card a few weeks ago when my brain was working.

This card uses the inspiration photo and is loosely based on the sketch at Fusion. All these stamps and dies come from My Creative Time.

I used Copics to colour the images before arranging all the elements on a white card base.

That’s it from me, I’m afraid. Thanks for visiting and please check out the wonderful cards made by the design team.
