Bacon (or Ham) and Cheese Rolls



Bread rolls like these are sold around Australia, and are popular as quick alternative for breakfast and /or lunch. Homemade are, off course, much better and cheaper.

Ingredients:
Dough-
3 cups bakers flour
1/2 cup milk
2/3 cup water
1 tsp salt
1 tsp yeast (instant)
1 tsp sugar
3 tbs oil
Topping-
bacon, (or ham, turkey), diced 
grated cheese 

Method:
Place all ingredients for dough into a bowl or bread machine. Make a soft dough and let it double covered, in a warm spot.
Divide dough into pieces (around 65-75 g each) and shape balls. Place them onto baking sheet (with paper or greased) and press them slightly. Sprinkle with bacon pieces and grated cheese. Let it rest for 20+ minutes. Switch oven to 170*C. Cover with baking paper or al foil (with some space between) and bake for 20-25 minutes. They should stay very soft and cheese should not burn. Good warm or cold.



Pecivo sa Šunkom i Sirom  

Ovakva peciva se prodaju sirom Australije i omiljeni su sastojak za dorucak i/ili rucak za ponijeti. Domace su, naravno, puno bolje i jeftinije!

Potrebno:
Tijesto-
3 solje brasna za peciva
1/2 solje mlijeka
2/3 solje vode
1 k soli
1 k instant kvasca
1 k secera
3 K ulja
Za posuti-
mesnata slanina, rezana na kockice (ili puretina, sunka)
ribani sir

Nacin:
Umijesite tijesto; rucno, mikserom ili u pekacu. Ostavite da nadodje. Podijelite tijesto na komadice oko 65-75 g.  Oblikujte loptice, postavite na tepsiju (namastenu ili sa papirom) i blago pritisnite. Pospite sa sunkom i sirom. Ostavite oko 20+ minuta da se odmore. Ukljucite rernu na 170*C.
Pokrijte peciva sa papirom za pecenje (ili folijom), ali neka ne dodiruje povrsinu.Pecite oko 20-25 minuta. Treba da ostanu mekane i sir ne smije uhvatiti mnogo boje / izgoriti. Dobre tople ili hladne.

'Kifle' - Milk rolls filled with Ricotta (or Frankfurters, or Ham'n'Cheese)



I always have some of these in my freezer. Everyone loves them and they so easy to reheat (microwave) and enjoy for breakfast, lunch or snack. You can fill them with ricotta, frankfurters or ham and cheese.

Ingredients:
Dough-
6 cups bakers flour
1 cup water
1 cup milk
2 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
2 tsp yeast
100 ml oil 
Brushing-
1 egg, beaten, some seeds..sesame, caraway, nigella, linseed, poppy... (optional)
Filling-
500 g Ricotta
1 egg
1 tsp salt,
OR
cocktail Frankfurters (or halves of regular-ones), 
OR
ham and (hard) cheese, cut into sticks...
Method:
Make a dough using your bread machine or by hand. Cover and leave it on a warm spot to double. Divide into 3 (large 'Kifle') or 4 (smaller), roll out into a 25-30 cm circle. Brush centre with a bit of water; this will prevent unwrapping during baking. Cut as you would cut pizza, into 8 wedges. Fill with your chosen ingredients- place them on outher edges of the dough; roll toward the pointy part, stretching a bit. Place onto paper lined baking dish. repeat with others. Make sure to leave some space between them. Cover with a clean tea towel. 
Switch oven to 180*C. When hot, brush rolls with a beaten egg and sprinkle with seeds. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden and fluffy. 


Uvijek ih imam u zamrzivacu! Svi ih vole i tako je lako podgrijati ih u mikrovalnoj i uzivati u njima bilo za dorucak, rucak, uzinu...Mogu se puniti svim i svacim - mashti na volju!

Potrebno:
Tijesto-
6 solja brasna
1 solja vode
1 solja mlijeka
2 k soli
1 k secera
2 k instant kvasca (ili svjezeg)
1 dl ulja
Premazivanje
1 jaje, umuceno...sjemenke po vasem izboru (opciono)
Fil-
500 gr rikote (ili slicnog sira)
1 jaje
1 k soli
ILI
mini hrenovke / virsle (ili prepolovljene velike)
ILI
prutici sunke i nekog tvrdog sira...
Nacin:
Umijesite tijesto rucno ili uz pomoc pekaca. Pokrijet i ostavite na toplome mjestu da naraste. 
Podijelite na 3 (za vece kifle ) ili 4 dijela (za manje). Razvaljajte svaki dio na 25-30 cm krug. Navlazite sredinu kruga sa malo vode (da se ne odmotavaju tokom pecenja). Rezite kako biste rezali picu, tj na 8 trokutova. Na vanjski (tj siri ) dio stavite odabrano punjenje, zarolajte prema centru, blago rastezuci.
Postavite na papirom oblozenu tepsiju. Ponovite sa ostalima, pazeci da ostavite dovoljno mjesta izmedju. Pokrijte i ukljucite rernu - 180*C. Kada se zagrijala, premazite sa umucenim jajetom i pospite sjemenkama. Pecite oko 12-15 minuta, ili dok ne postanu zlacano zute i narasle.

Breakfast in my Garden (Bread Pudding)





 It's early morning... I was awoken by birds'  sounding and drawn outside to my garden...Spring has sprang and already  doing it's magic in all living beings. I quickly prepared breakfast and took it out to enjoy orange blossom smell  and birds' songs...It looks like an awesome beginning to a beautiful day!

Bread Pudding
Great way to use old bread and anything from your fridge that has to be used!

Ingredients:
6-7 slices grain (or other) bread, cubed
1 cup milk, warm
1 small onion, finely diced
1 tsp oil
1 garlic clove, crushed
1/2 red capsicum, diced
200 g button mushrooms, diced
100 g rocket salad, chopped
100 g ham, diced
4 eggs
2 egg whites
salt and pepper, to taste
120 g tasty cheese, grated
Method:
Combine bread and milk, let it stand for 10-15 minutes.
Preheat oven to 180*C; coat a square pan with cooking oil spray.
Heat oil in a pan, saute onion, garlic, mushrooms and capsicum for a couple of minutes.
Combine vegetables with salad leaves, half the cheese, ham and bread; spoon into the prepared pan. Beat egg whites and eggs, season and pour over the bread mixture. Sprinkle with other half of cheese. Bake for 25-35 minutes, or until cooked.





Rano je jutro...Probudili  su me zvukovi ptica i privukli da izadjem u bastu. Proljece je pristiglo i vec razbacuje svoje magicne cari na sva ziva stvorenja. Na brzinu sam pripremila dorucak i iznijela ga vani da uzivam u mirisu procvjetale narandze i pjesmama ptica...Izgleda kao divan pocetak jednog proljetnog dana!


'Popara' - Puding od  hljeba

Odlicno za iskoristiti stari hljeb i sve ono sto vam dugo stoji u frizideru

Potrebno:
6-7 kriski kruha / hljeba, rezanih na kockice
1 solja mlijeka, toplog
1 manji crveni luk, sjeckan
1 k ulja
1 ceno bijelog luka, protisnuto
1/2 crvene paprike, sjeckane na kocke
200 gr sampinjona (ili drugih gljiva), sjeckane
100 gr rukole, sjeckane
100 gr sunke (ili slicno), sjecakne na kockice
4 jaja
2 bjelanca
so i biber, prema ukusu
120 gr tvrdog sira, rendanog
Nacin:
Prelijte mlijeko preko komada hljeba; ostavite 10-15 minuta po strani.
Ukljucite rernu na 180*C, pripremite cetvrtastu posudu za pecenje.
Zagrijte ulje, proprzite luk, papriku i gljive par minuta.
Pomijesajte ovo sa hljebom, polovinom sira, salatom i sunkom. Umutite jaja, zacinite i prelijte preko svega. Pospite preostalim sirom i pecite 25-35 minuta.

Pork Cordon Bleu


Easy!

Ingredients:
4 boneless pork chops
4 slices thin ham (size as pork chops)
4 slices Swiss cheese, smaller than pork
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
salt and pepper
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs, beaten with 1 tbs water
1 cup fine dry bread crumbs
oil for frying
Method:
On top of each piece of meat put a slice of cheese following with ham. Season flour with salt, pepper and thyme. Carefully dip 'parcels' into flour, shake off excess. Dip into egg, then bread crumbs and fry until golden. Serve hot.
Perfect with boiled potatoes (dressed with oil and wholegrain mustard) and corn.




Krmenadle 'Cordon Bleu' stil

Potrebno:
4 krmenadle bez kosti
4 reznja sunke (ili slicno, velicine kao krmenadle)
4 reznja nekog tvrdog sira (mora biti manji od mesa)
1/2 k timijana
so i biber
1 solja brasna
2 jaja, umuceno sa 1 K vode
1 solja krusnih mrvica/prezle
ulje za przenje
Nacin:
Polozite meso na radnu povrsinu, preko svakog komada stavite rezanj sira i sunke. Zacinite brasno sa solju, biberom i timijanom. Pazljivo uvaljajte obje strane, zatim uronite u jaja i mrvice. Przite dok ne porumeni sa obje strane. Servirajte toplo.
Perfektno uz kuhani krompir (zacinjen uljem i senfom od punog zrna)i mlade kukuruze.
