Heartfelt Condolences
Hello Everyone! It's Day 1 of the JustRite Papercraft May release and the team have two beautiful sets to show you today!! If you loved the Romantic Wild Roses set that was released in March, then you are going to be deliriously happy that there is another multi-step set being added to this range.....let me introduce you to Multi-Step Lilac Bouquet......
The other set being released today is Sympathy Handwritten Sentiments. Sadly sympathy cards are always something I should have on hand, and never seem to have just the 'right' thing - you know what I mean, so having a range of thoughtful, heartfelt sentiments on hand will make creating these difficult cards so much easier. Introducing.....Sympathy Handwritten Sentiments....
Actually on my card today you are also getting a little sneak peak at the background that will be showcased tomorrow......shhhhhhhh!!! :)
I've kept this card simple and soothing using soft cool colours and allowing the stamps to take centre stage. I've used a base of Marina Mist and layered with Baked Brown Sugar. Next I've taken a piece of Very Vanilla and stamped A2 Garden View Background in Memento Bamboo Leaves and then stamped Crackle Background over the top in Memento Desert Sand. I've then chosen a sentiment from Sympathy Handwritten Sentiments and stamped it as shown in Memento Rich Cocoa. Now I could have chosen any of the floral stamps to accent the front, but I decided to let the butterfly have it's moment to shine. Why? Last year I lost my uncle to cancer and in the palliative ward, when someone has passed, they put a picture of a blue butterfly on the door so that others on the ward are aware. So for this card, I've stamped the base colour of the butterfly in Teal Zeal (but stamped off once to tone the shade down) and then stamped the outline in Rich Cocoa. You can cut the shapes prior to stamping using the Multi-Step Lilac Bouquet Silhouette Cut File or you can fussy cut if you prefer. I've attached then buy gluing the bodies but leaving the wings raised. To finish I've added a sheer ribbon and bow around the bottom.
Stamps - Multi-Step Lilac Bouquet, Sympathy Handwritten Sentiments, A2 Garden View Background, Crackle Background (JustRite)
Paper - Marina Mist, Baked Brown Sugar, Very Vanilla
Ink - Memento Rich Cocoa, Bamboo Leaves, Desert Sand
Accessories - Multi-Step Lilac Bouquet Silhouette Cut File, Sheer Ribbon, Bow Easy

Ohhhh, I just love those pretty, dainty leaves and butterflies, and I LOVE multi-step stamps! This is gorgeous, Kathy! Very nice on the background and with the lovely sentiment. I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. How sad it must have been each time those blue butterflies appeared on the doors.
Kathy, what a beautiful card, and I love the dainty leaves on the crackled background. And the lovely blue butterflies are so delicate. Having lost my mom to cancer years ago, I remember well (before she died) seeing other rooms where someone had lost their battle. And then it was our turn. What a precious thing to do adding a picture of a blue butterfly. So sorry about your uncle last year, but I trust that God will continue to bring to your mind cherished memories of him! Hugs!
What a beautiful card.
I'm sorry for your loss.
It's a lovely thing the medical team do with the butterflies - and I love how you did that with your card
