The Tyger by William Blake

Tyger, Tyger, burning bright, In the forests of the night; What immortal hand or eye, Could frame thy fearful symmetry? In what distant deeps or skies. Burnt the fire of thine eyes? On what wings dare he aspire? What the hand, dare seize the fire? And what shoulder, and what art, Could twist the sinews of thy heart? And when thy heart began to beat, What dread hand? And what dread feet? What hammer? What the chain, In what furnace was thy brain? What the anvil? What dread grasp, Dare it's deadly terrors clasp! When the stars threw down their spears And water'd heaven with their tears Did he smile his work to see? Did he who made the Lamb make thee? Tyger, Tyger, burning bright, In the forests of the night; What immortal hand or eye, Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

Review on 'Burning Bright'

'Burning Bright' is a novel by Tracy Chevalier. The story is set in 1792 and is about a family from Dorset who move to London with the opportunity of the father getting a better job; plus they want to get away from the village where their eldest son died suddenly. The youngest son- Jem makes friends with a girl, native to London, with whom he learns about London and the dangers of the city. They are also neighbours with the famous poet- William Blake, author of the poem ' The Tyger '.  Although it is a children's literature, I think it is probably suitable for ages twelve and up.
