Scraps of Darkness Blue Skies and Sunshine Layout

Hello there crafty friends. Here you will find my layout I created using the

As soon as I saw the colors I was like this will be perfect for my brother's upcoming nuptials. They had such a beautiful wedding. It was outdoors and just a perfect day. I've waited patiently for the pictures to come in. Her colors were grey, white and yellow!! You can bet I will be doing several projects with these fabulous photos from such a spectacular wedding filled with love.
My brother Robert and his new bride Samantha his high school sweetheart.

Now lets take a closer look.
Here I used the the circle chipboard from Blue Fern Studios. The flower was also included in the kit.
I painted the chipboard white. The other chipboard was from my stash and I heat embossed it in gunmetal grey.

On this next photo you can see I used some grey splatters to help accent the page. There is a spatter of some yellow as well. I chose to use a stencil from my stash to make this cool graphic. I also used the stamp that came with the kit. You will also find the blue Ice Resin sparkles. I love those things.:

Next up is a section of the layout where I used more chipboard from my stash that I painted with white gesso. I edged the chipboard with the blue ink that came in the kit. I layered the picture on top of some burlap looking ribbon. Underneath the chipboard you can see more splatters and some of the blue Ice Resin sparkles.

Next up is another chippie from my stash that I heat embossed with gunmetal grey. I also placed some beads with modeling paste. I also once again put some blue Ice Resin sparkles. I just loved sprinkling those all over the page. I also made a small tear at the bottom of the page and tucked in a little lace.

Next up is the flowers that were included in the kit. I wanted to tuck them in the corner to bring out the white and green as seen in the photo.

Make sure to check out the store because we DO have some of the add on's still available.
Check out all the available goodies here: Scraps of Darkness.

I have to say I was inspired by Gabrielle Pollacco's layout I discovered on Youtube. Here is her video.

You can take a look at the kit and the add on's here at our store: Scraps of Darkness.

I made a set of 3 tags.

Here are the tags:

Below I will show you close ups and from the base up what I did.
Here I layered a piece of Graphic 45 darker in color and then a lighter green from the Graphic 45 on top. I distressed the edges and inked them in green. I watered down the gesso to give a light whitewash on the tag.

Here you can see I used some sprays  and let them drip. I also used some archival ink and used some Prima stamps to accent the tags.

Here you can see I used some modeling paste and then sprayed some ink and then spritzed it with water to get it to trickle around.

Here I used some filler beads to lightly decorate the modeling paste.

Here are some close ups of my tags. I did sprinkle some paste on the tops of the flowers. Here I used a Heidi Swapp die: lovely. I used the Graphic 45 paper.

In the above and below you can see I used some some thread to give accents.

Here you can see the beautiful doily I used in the corner. I tucked in some flowers around the larger flowers.

Here you can see more stamping.

In the picture above and below you can see I used a blue piece and below a red piece in the center of the doily. I also used a green piece on the third tag.

Zeus and Zoe Design Team Work - Life at Sea

Happy New Years Crafters!

I decided to enter 2 challenges that I haven't played in before. I got out my Zeus and Zoe kit and it was a perfect fit to make this layout.
Here is the layout:

In the above I wanted to show the StencilGirl stencil (Seashells) along the bottom border before adding to the rest of the layout. In first picture the light blue is using my Shimmerz: Texturez in Patina. The Sandy color shell is a mixture of modeling paste and Lindy Stamp Gang Starburst Color Shot : Opal Sea Oats, the one following is from the same maker but a different color of Frosty Forest Green. The last seashell is done in Gelatos of a coral color.

The photo to the left here shows a flower from my ZZ DT pack and a flower from Tresors De Luxe in a pretty green.

This picture shows the other creamy flower from Tresors de Luxe, a badge from 3rd Eye, some Prima goodies. From ReneaBouquets Etsy shop you can see her butterfly and frosty seafoamy green flower.

Some more close ups from Renea's flower and butterfly and the creamy flower from Tresors.

Below you can see my Dusty Attic Chipobard that I altered using my White Pearlescent Smooch. Beside that is another 3rd Eye Badge.

The first challenge that I designed this layout for to enter is at Scrap Around The World .
Here is the gorgeous mood board. I love these colors. My kit had many goodies that complimented this board. I used a doily whose edge looked like netting. I also tried to capture some of the soft colors presented below.

This is the link to that challenge: SATW JANUARY 2014 CHALLENGE 9.

The second challenge that I am entering my layout is over at Once Upon A Sketch. I thought to combine these great colors with this fun sketch!  Here is the sketch:

Lesson Learnt: I have a tag to the left under the photo...journaling about my brother at sea while serving the US Navy.. the freedoms we have and so on. I know he learned alot while serving as did I when I served. I really wanted to leave a heartfelt thought behind the picture.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. I hope you check out Zeus and Zoe's Shop for any of your embellishment needs.
Also feel free to participate in either or both of the challenges: Scrap Around The World and Once Upon A Sketch.

Sister- February Reveal for Paper Mixing Bowl

Red Velvet Cake is our theme in the kitchen this month! Loads of layers with red, cream and brown. I went in the direction of creams with hints of the other two colors.

Head over to The Paper Mixing Bowl to cook up something neat with us.

My focus in this layout is of the photos of my sister, Kristina, which I took about 5 years ago.  I loved these photos. I also paired some red flowers. Thank you to Homer and his book The Odyessey for lending some pages to my layout.

For my layer cake, I used my photos and book pages, doily punch  and old papers with pictures of stamps. For my frosting I used some moldeling paste mixed with ink to make my butterscotch frosting. For my pairs of course the 2 pairs of photos and the 2 red flowers.. the 2 clock symbols, 2 DUSTY ATTIC chipboard pieces. My rings are from the bottom of my Mtn Dew can dipped in Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

For my directions I just know of the love I feel for my sister. We seem to go thru a lot in our lives but we always try to stand by each other. Thank you sis no matter where we are in the world or even down the street from each other you are loved. The Fleur symbol is a nod to her matching tattoo. Here is the finished product  resembling a messy desk:

Prima papers yum!
