Karen Burniston Ms. Claus and Penguin Season's Greetings card

Hello, this is my final card for the Inspiration Team today.  I jumped ahead a season to create this Karen Burniston winter card.  I have always had so much fun playing with her animals and characters.  The first time I use one of her dies, I will go to Karen Burniston YouTube channel and watch her assembly video.  This is my first time using the Winter Animals set so I watched that video.

I very much enjoy her tips such as using the die as a stencil.  I used it here to detail the hat on the penguin with a white gel pen.  I used the same plaid paper for Ms. Claus's suit and the penguin's hat and scarf.

I layered some trees cut from a green patterned paper on white glitter stitched hillside border.  I used the same white glitter paper for Ms. Claus's trim and the penguin's pom on his hat. I colored Ms. Claus's cheeks and cut her glasses from silver metallic paper.  I layered all the pieces on patterned paper.  I layered the the snowy hill cut on the patterned paper then die cut the stitched rectangle for a uniform look.

Bundle Up with Sketches in Thyme

This is probably my favorite layout I created over the holiday weekend.  I absolutely love this photo.  I dug into my winter paper stash and found a few of these kits.  I love this paper and I am so excited to pair it with this great pic.

Here's the sketch from Sketch in Thyme.

I used two sheets of this designer paper, the wonderful paisley background and the lineal patterned paper is tucked behind the photo and to frame the title.

Storytellers Club kits came with lots of die cuts, I used several of the snowflakes sprinkled around.  I added a journaling strip for my SIL to add her info.

A close up of the photo cluster.

Let it Snow! Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge

Welcome to another week's inspiration for the latest Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  I was feeling some winter colors rather than traditional Xmas when I created this card.  I found an old collection of coordinating papers that made a beautiful winter card.

Here is this week's sketch:

I looked through my stash of border punches for a scallop edge but then I thought why not I die?  I perused that stash.  I have so much product.  I keep my "inventory" in Evernote, a cloud based note app.  I can search any one of my notebooks or all of them by keywords.  I often consult it while shopping as to not buy duplicates.  I ended up using the Creative Memories border punch with a Marvy cartridge which wasn't scalloped like the sketch but fit very well with the winter blues and purple papers.  The snowflakes showing through are the white base of the card.  I used a die cut sentiment with more coordinating paper and an acetate embellishment to finish off the card.

Ingredients:
Creative Memories papers
Marvy bling bling border maker cartridge
Stamplorations Let it Snow die
snowflake acetate stickers

Bundle Up! Quick Quotes January Club Q

Good morning! Quick Quotes readersAlicia blogging today.  I have been playing around with the January Club Q kits.  So many beautiful papers with great die cutting and fantastic projects this month.  I usually open up all the kits and mix them up, which you can clearly see that with this layout.  I used pieces from most of them to create this double page layout.

I am scrapping some pretty old photos but 2012 is the year in which I am currently working.  This was the perfect winter~y outing for this title.  It was a mascot broom ball game.  All the local mascots playing a sort of hockey but with brooms, great fun for the kids!

I used Canon's Pro Luster photo paper to print professional quality photos at home.  I rarely use a print service anymore.  My photos print perfect at home which I don't always find with outside services.  I also like to be able to choose the photo size as I am scrapping as opposed to having every shot in 4x6.

I used the crystal bling included in the kits to adorn the center of all of my snowflakes.  This month's kit also includes some printables from Canon's Creative Park.

Easy Cricut Cards

If you are a regular follower, you may have noticed most of this years card include a Cricut cut.  II made all of these cuts with a 72 hour free subscription to Cricut Access.  The certificates are included in the square box cartridges.  I have been collecting some new ones for $5-12 lately.

During that weekend, I made several easy two layer cards.  I was pretty pleased with the entire collection.  Only Mrs. Clause had some frayed cuts.  I believe it was the type of paper.

Another plus of the easy cards is no special postage!  I am a big fan of being able to use a regular stamp.

Winter Tree Stained glass card

Alicia here today playing with Tutti Designs Stained Glass dies.  It was fun to watch my vision slowly come to life as I pieced together the scene.  I used the die to cut several different papers.  The end result is stunning.

I layered the stained glass die on a couple of the same papers cut with Sue Wilson Designs Double Stitched Rectangle dies.  It is not as clear as I would like but the moon is a beautiful silver shimmer paper.  I also used a woodgrain paper for the tree with some copper metallic card stock for the branches where the moonlight shines.

Warm coffee for you...

I whipped up this entry for the Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop tonight.  I had the Cricut cut already prepared, it was a matter of selecting some matching papers and embellishments.  I found a lovely snowflake for behind the cup, but it needed a little pop, so I layered a die cut piece of red printed paper.  I punched more snowflakes and die cut the sentiment from the same paper on the cup.

I sprinkled some tiny sequins around the popped up cup for just a little texture.

Ingredients:
Cricut Holly & Ivy
Creative Memories Winter printed paper
Creative Memories snowflake punch
Tim Holtz/Sizzix Snowflake die
Brenda Walton label die
Spellbinders Phrase set two
American Craft Christmas paper
misc card stock
Quick Quotes Bora Bora, Evergreen and Lipstick Powderpuff chalking ink
sequins
