This is a somewhat unique performance. According to legend, this performance was being recorded by Hilversum Radio for broadcast later when certain microphone malfunctionings forced The Pink Floyd to perform an instrumental set. In consequence, the show was never broadcast.
This is about 40 minutes of instrumental music by The Pink Floyd.

03. Careful With That Axe, Eugene
04. A Saucerful of Secrets

Who needs words when you play like PF Great music I wish thee was more of their music with out words.
ReplyDeletemwilson, I'm glad you like this. It's an oddball. It only exists due to the special situation outlined above. I'm sure some will pass on it by because there's no lyrics. It's always been the lack of words that drew me to this set. It's kind of like what Pink Floyd would have sounded like if they had been, the UK band, The Shadows.

Enoch, I thought I saw somewhere that there was an instrumental version of Dark Side of the Moon. Have you seen or heard that? If so would you know a link to get it. I looked at the sights I go to and can't find it. Or I just thought I saw it. Thanks again for this PF
ReplyDeletemwilson,
ReplyDeleteI have that, but I don't remember where I got it. It's supposed to be studio outtakes. I'm a bit suspicious of it because, for outtakes the tracks are surprisingly complete and polished. I'm not entirely sure what to make of it.

Enoch, is it possible to post it here sometime? If not I'll understand.
