Valentine Postage Collage

I just love the versatility of Eyelet Outlet products and was exited to create a wintery Valentine themed postage collage! In staying with a winter theme, I used the snowman couple brads as my focus and added white glitter washi tape for snow and a red enamel heart. Next, I stamped "you melt my heart" sentiment as well as some script, postage lines, and hearts.

I filled in my other postage stamp spaces with Happy Valentine's Day glitter washi, wintery glitter tall tree washi tape, and vintage washi tape! I added a few red rose brads to finish off my card!

And since I was having so much fun! I decided to decorate my envelope too! I added the skinny red and white washi tape and some Valentine themed stamps to finish off my project! I hope you enjoy! What a fun way to play with a variety of Eyelet Outlet washi tapes, brads and more!

Bee My Valentine!

I love creating little Valentine gifts for friends and family! Here is a quick and fun way to show some love with a small gift!

I started with creating the largest tag on white cardstock and adding heart stamps, distress inks, "Happy Valentine's Day" glitter washi, and pink and red enamel hearts. I saved some room in the middle to write a little note. I then cut a smaller tag in red and added some pink hearts stamped, along with more "Happy Valentine's Day" glitter washi and enamel hearts. Next, I created my smallest tag, stamping the cute bee image, coloring in with markers, adding some prisma glitter, and embellishing with  my little bee brads. Lastly, I used a hole punch to connect all 3 tags and attached a tube of Chapstick with pink and red ribbons!

I hope this inspires you to shop all the adorable Valentine themed products at Eyelet Outlet and create some personal Valentine's for your friends and family!

I only have eyes for you!

 Who loves making Valentines?

I am loving these adorable pink and red enamel hearts! They are so fun to play with! I was inspired to create this card using my enamel hearts and owl adhesive! Owls are such lovely creatures with big, dreamy eyes and "I only have eyes for you" seemed like the perfect sentiment! I also added a row of pearl brads to the bottom right for a little extra embellishment! I hope you have started on your valentines to share love with those you love!

Be My Valentine!

I love creating little Valentine's to share with friends and family!

I have created a selection of Valentine's that would be great to slip in your child's lunchbox or mail to a friend! I loved adding the adorable accessories, brads, and bling from Eyelet Outlet!

In creating the tag style bookmark valentine, I stamped my kitten image and colored in with alcohol markers. I then added the purple pearls across the top and cut the paw to add a heart enamel sticker! For the second valentine in this picture, I stamped my mouse and used chalks to color her in. I then added a row of heart enamel stickers with one sparkly, jewel heart!

In creating the "bumble bee valentine", I stamped my image in black ink, colored with alcohol markers, and added some sparkle to her wings! I then used the bumble bee brads to embellish the bottom corner. Lastly, the "wildthing" valentine card just makes me smile!! So fun! I stamped my sentiment and gorilla in black and colored in using alcohol markers. For my embellishments I used the monkey brads from the jungle pack and added enamel heart stickers!

I hope you have found some inspiration to make your own valentine cards this month for those you love! Thanks so much for stopping by! Don't forget to shop at Eyelet Outlet for your crafting needs!

A Visit with a Gingerbread Couple

Eyelet Outlet Gingerbread Brads are about as cute as it gets already, but... they're even more adorable in front of a Gingerbread Cottage, with a Gingerbread Washi sky, and "landscaping" made of Candy Cane and Peppermint Candy Brads. The cottage is trimmed out with Sparkle White Glitter Tape icicles and a Heart Enamel with a sentiment from Foil Red Stripe Washi.

There are lots more holiday brads, tapes and bling available in the Eyelet Outlet Store!

HB2U

Is there anything more festive than Birthday Sock Monkeys? I (Lauren) kind of doubt it, especially when they're Eyelet Outlet Birthday Sock Monkey Brads AND they're on sale! I've paired mine with some colorful Happy Birthday Washi TapePastel Balloon Brads (also on sale!) and Heart Enamels.

If Sock Monkeys are not your idea of birthday joy, there are plenty of other styles of brads, tape, flowers, bling and enamels at Eyelet Outlet!

World's Best Handyman Dad!

Hi everyone! Father's Day is coming up and for my family this is an extra special one because it's also my son's 17th birthday! Yes, folks. He was born on Father's Day. It rarely lines up on the same day but this is one of those years and I can't wait to celebrate with both of my best Dudes!

This card was created with my Silhouette Cameo 4 machine and an oldie but goodie file from Jamie Cripps called A2 Tool Pegboard Card #60346. It's just right to hold Eyelet Outlet Tool Brads with two Heart Shaped Enamels and a single Green Enamel Dot. This is super quick to make and you can buy this file as an .svg if you'd like to try it on a different cutter. So fun and perfect for that guy that enjoys working on projects.

BIG Initials!

One of the easiest ways that I (Lauren) have found to quickly customize a plain store-bought gift bag is with giant initials, covered in Eyelet Outlet Washi Tape of which... fortunately... I happen to have quite a bit! I've also got some fun Enamel Hearts and Stars, which I've scattered around the bags for even more texture and interest.

It seems counter-intuitive to start with the tape rather than the initial, but in fact, that's sort of what I did. I did size and print my initials on plain white cardstock first, but... I didn't cut them out. Instead, I took my 4x6" outline letters (the font is called Storybook) and stapled them to 5x7" pieces of cardstock covered in neat strips of washi. Then, I cut them out!

Between my three initials, I've used about three dozen different tape styles, and I'll name and link a bunch of those in a minute, but really... this idea will work with ANY combination of tapes you like! You can organize them by color, as I have here; or by theme, or in rainbow order, or create patterns with the tape or... well, this is quite a flexible method and thus perfect for making the initials as unique as their recipients! I adhered my finished initials to some solid cardstock to create a skinny outline, then added some of the same tapes to each bag to complete the design.

And now here's a fairly thorough list of the tapes I used, from top to bottom, for each letter!

Letter K: Flower WashiPink Foiled RoseSkinny Calendar TapeUnicorn WashiZigzagPink CheckedMacaron, more Skinny Calendar (the set has three different styles), wide Funky Bird TapeHeart Tape from the Valentine set, Tiny Hearts, the third of the Skinny Calendar Tapes and Pink + White Dots.

Letter R: Star TapeOwl WashiScript TapeSkinny XO Foil Tape, XO Washi which is sadly out of print, Foiled Silver DotsAntique Car TapeTire TracksRoad TapeWood WashiMusic Keyboard Tape and a repeat of XO, Script and Stars.

Letter S: Cloud WashiSkinny TapePurple ZigzagRainbow TapePurple CheckedSkinny Calendar Tape, Purple Gingham Check and Purple/Green Stripe Tape have, alas, gone; Llama Washi, More Clouds, Foiled Flower Tape and finally Purple Dots and Japanese Tape are also out of print, but... Love You A Sloth!

I've been working on Valentine's Day cards lately and I couldn't wait to bring out the sloths from the Sloth and Koala brad set for this card. The koalas are perfectly sized for the small branches I have in my stamp and die stash. In this case, I decided to use dies for the branches and leaves. Pastel Leaf brads and pink and red Heart Enamels were also used as embellishments. The sky background was created by using two pieces of Sky Washi tape on a small piece of cardstock. I placed it under the scalloped window so that the seam is mostly behind the lower branch. It disguises it very well. Although not much is seen of the cute pattern, I used a border of Sloth Washi tape on the card edges. It gives a nice black border to the bright green paper and I like that there are little flowers peaking out as well. You can get all of these items and more at the EO store.

Happy Hanukkah!

Here's a super-easy way to make a fun Hanukkah card without any themed product!

I saved the blue candles from several packs of Eyelet Outlet Candle Brads, and arranged them in a line to make a simple menorah shape. I added a blue Tear Drop Bling to act as flames on eight of them, with a Heart Enamel on the Shamash candle in the center; all set atop a sticker sentiment in white, accented with some little Round Enamels.

There's new inspiration nearly every day here on the Eyelet Outlet Blog, so be sure to check back often!

wishes you a very
happy holiday season!

Hoppy, Hoppy, Hoppy...

...Valentine's Day! Just in case you need a few fast card ideas before Friday, I (Lauren) have three takes on HOPPI-ness, Eyelet Outlet style!

My first card features the ever-adorable Frog Brads, on a background of Cloud Washi and Water Tape, with half a Paper Flower serving as a lilypad. I used nested heart dies to trim my little scene into an appropriate Valentine shape, and added my sentiment with mixed letter stickers. At the very end, I added three white Heart Pearls.

It's less obvious at first, but beer can also be described as "HOPPY" so my second card features one of the bottles and a mug from our Beer Brads on a background of Beer Tape, sitting on a bar made of Hardwood Floor Washi. A few yellow Heart Enamels and we were good to go!

Heading back into cuuuuuute territory, this sweet little pair of Rabbit Brads (the packs contain both styles) is surrounded by diecut hearts made of Tiny Heart Washi and Checked Tape, with a couple of Heart Brad accents.

Eyelet Outlet has a brad (and a style of tape!) to make a card that embodies pretty much ANY diabolical pun you can devise. For Valentine's Day, St. Pat's, Easter and beyond! ♥

wishes you the very
HOPPIEST
of Valentine's Days!

It's In My Jeans

I live in the midwest, where it's impossible to ignore farming. It's all around me. Cows. Corn fields. Barns. Grain elevators that reach to the sky.

This year hasn't been good to the farmers here. The rains came and came and came when they needed to be planting. Then when they finally got the crops in the fields, drought. It's yet to be determined what harvest will be like.

Even with the adversity, they don't give up. After all, farming is in their jeans genes.

Inspired by... SOCKS?

Inspiration really is EVERYWHERE! Sometimes I (Lauren) find it myself, and other times, a friend or family member sends me something which triggers an idea. These cards are the result of the latter; I'll explain in a minute. But meanwhile check out the adorable Eyelet Outlet Llama Brads and Llama Washi Tape:

Now, here is the inspiration, an actual pair of socks spotted in a shop by my craft bestie and EO Design Team alumnus, Stephanie:

Of course as soon as I saw it I immediately thought, "LLAMA BRAD CARD!!!" :) I made the vertically oriented card first, using two sets of alphabet stamps for the sentiment. You'll notice the base is a fun graph paper print; Doodlebug has a whole rainbow of them, which I love, even just aesthetically. But also... if you're going to hand stamp a long sentiment, one letter at a time, it's quite handy to work on a paper which has a nice strong horizontal line. Just sayin'. I placed the star of the show, the handsome Llama Brad, next to his name, popped on a purple Heart Enamel and filled the rest of the panel with Llama Tape

I actually love everything about the first card, but it did occur to me as I was working that it would be fun to have more color in the sentiment AND I'd like it even more if the sentiment was on three lines instead of four. So this time I chose a stamp set that could be colored in, and turned my paper horizonal so that "ding dong" fit on one line. Since that meant no "extra" space at the bottom, I placed two strips of Llama Tape right down the middle, and spelled out "llama" in chipboard letter stickers so they'd stand out. The two lowercase L's seemed like the perfect place for another Llama Brad. And since the Heart Enamels were still sitting on my worktable, it seemed a shame not to add a few.

What have you seen lately in a shop, a website, or even a catalog, that made you think, "Hey! That might look good on a card!"? Whatever it was, I'm going to bet that Eyelet Outlet has a brad which could make your idea even better!

would actually

Hippity, Hoppity...

...Happy (almost) Easter Daaaaaaaay! Hi folks, it's Lauren here again, wishing you a very happy holiday if you're celebrating. Or just an especially nice weekend if you are not. Either way, why not treat yourself to a chocolate bunny... or at least... some Eyelet Outlet Chocolate Bunny Brads?

I've heard that some people don't actually enjoy chocolate?! So luckily we also have realistic looking Rabbit Brads and super cute Pastel Rabbits as well. Of course all bunnies love Carrots so I've grabbed a few out of the Vegetable Brad set. And Easter wouldn't be the same without beautiful Colored Eggs, but we've also got plain (white and tan) Egg Brads, should you need some. (And there are fried eggs in the Breakfast Brad set, too!)

My second card is an all-occasion greeting, but it's in pretty Spring colors, so I thought I'd post it here too. This one features my favorite Hugs and Kisses Tape plus some Skinny Washi and Pastel Hearts Enamels.

Happy Easter and Happy Spring!!!

When Irish Frogs Are Smiling

Sunday is St. Patrick's Day and since I (Lauren) happen to be about 60% Irish, here are a couple of timely cards, all dressed in green, featuring our adorable Eyelet Outlet Frog Brads!

By now I expect everyone knows that premade journal cards are my very favorite cardmaking "secret" so it's no surprise that I have employed them here. These particular ones happen to be from Doodlebug Design; I love their clear bright colors. I changed the "Happy" to "Hoppy" on the sentiment flag with the help of a green jewel brad, and added a handsome pair of Frog Brads as well as one of the cattails and waterlillies which come in the same set. A green Heart Enamel completes the little scene.

For my second card, just a single Frog Brad, a few purple Heart Enamels, and a strip of Stripe Tape trimmed with some Skinny Glitter Tape.

I hope all of my Irish friends will enjoy a very Happy St. Patrick's Day... but then EVERYBODY is Irish on March 17th! ♥
