And more bee blocks

Image
As you can probably from most of my posts, I am still playing catch up with my bee blocks. I never thought it would take that long, but here we are! Today I managed to finish one more set of Granny Squares, for Olivia in blue, orange and grey. This means that I am no longer behind with the Granny Square Bee , yeah! I still have to do the October blocks of course but at least I have caught up with this one! And yesterday, I received a package from Gabriella to make her block for Bee Europa for October (yes I am on time with this one!) and guess what, I have already finished making her blocks. There were very easy blocks so I made them straight away and they will go back to her next week! Now I need to catch up with my Simply Solids blocks and one more Siblings Together and I will be back in the game, pheww! I am still trying with the crochet. I only managed the second round last night because then I got stuck! I couldn't understand the instructions for round 3. But I

Another happy mail day

It is always nice on Friday to have happy mail to open after the work week is over and today was a good day! The first package I open was the lovely giveaway from Sheri at Sunshine in the Attic . I had won a bundle of Dear Stella fabric (first Dear Stella in my stash!) in the giveaway, lucky me. The lovely package arrived today, thank you so much Sheri for a great blog hop and a generous giveaway. The second package was the first issue of Love Quilting magazine, a new magazine full of gorgeous quilts. I flicked through it but I will need a lot more time to read it properly! The third was my order from Alice at Backstitch . I order some Klona solids and also a skirt pattern from Anna Maria Horner to use the corduroy I bought last week. Now to dare cutting it... And I couldn't wait to give it a try.... so after watching numerous videos on youtube, I have made a start on my amigurumi elephant. I am not sure I am doing the right thing but it seems to look like something! No

Knitting and Stitching Show - Alexandra Palace

Image
I left work early today to go to the Knitting and Stitching in Alexandra Palace. I think I hadn't been for 3 years so it was nice to go back. They had a late evening ticket today valid from 3 to 7, perfect for me. I didn't go with a long shopping list but I wanted to try and find the supplies I needed to make an attempt at these lovely slippers . I was told they are easy to make even for a beginner (not sure about that but I should try!) I found some chunky wool (wool is not called worsted in the UK) in pink and purple and bought a crochet hook as well. Now I only need to be brave and try! But of course while I was looking for some supplies for my slippers, I found these cuties from Edward's Menagerie from Toft  and I couldn't resist buying the pattern book. There are just gorgeous. Now I have been told that they take about 5 hours to crochet. I am not convinced I can do it in 5 hours as a complete novice but I'll give it a try and let you know. (Photo from Toft
