Jun 3rd Monday Update

I know we all say it but serious....how is it June already?!?! Wow. Slow down 2024!!! Let's see what I was up to last week...

Monday was Memorial Day. So no computer time and no stitching. Too tired from the great weekend.

Tuesday and Wednesday I worked on Dragon Biscornu by Tiny Modernist. I had a goal of 200 for the month...

After hitting my goal Wednesday it was time for my last new start for May...

Tickled Pink in Stitches posted this beautiful Irish Blessing. When I seen it was a freebie from Herrschners I was like um well I need to do that haha. I mean....Irish! I'm using 32ct Antique White Linen for it and the suggested colors. It did surprise me how many color changes there are but it looks beautiful so I'm okay with it. I added 354 Wed, 78 Thurs, and 108 Friday...

Saturday was June 1st and I decided why not start Yggdrasil. I mean 7 new starts in May just isn't enough haha.

Using 32ct Lambswool for my Paine Free Crafts like normal. 1 thread over 1 complete X.

Saturday and Sunday 500 added already from that beautiful upper left framework. Love it!!! Just love how it's right into the design. Just love the overall art. Just love each little X.

Life. Wednesday Jeremiah was off on an adventure with Dad and Bev. They hadn't went anywhere since August. They had a great time. The 2nd was Fred and my 23rd anniversary so I joked with him about taking Thursday off since Jeremiah would be gone. He took Thursday and Friday off work and we had a great time! We went out to eat a delicious dinner Wednesday together. Thursday after breakfast we loaded up with Spike. Took him to get his nails trimmed, went to a dog park and on a little hike, then went to Fred's favorite cigar bar. They allow dogs and Spike did amazing! So he will definitely go back. Jeremiah got home sometime in the afternoon Thursday. He came home with $175 more than he took. Lucky little turd haha. Bev was tired but really had a great time. Friday Fred and I ran up to Fort Wayne to do some banking and quick grocery trip. It was a nice relaxing day. We watched the rest of Fallout on Prime.

Saturday we did some work. Time to put away our winter shower house and get the sink back setup...

This time we built it so we was hoping we could just pick it up with the tractor and not have to take each board and sheet of metal apart like last time. Up it went and away it went. Perfect! This coming winter we can just pop it back on and done. Fantastic. We also got a tree cleared that had fallen down in a storm. We are having the band back here at the campground June 15th so we have a lot of stuff to do but Fred has the week before off work. So hopefully it goes as fantastic as this last week and we'll be ready to go in time. Excitement is definitely growing as it gets closer. Bev is going to put off treatment till the week after hopefully. She is telling doc tomorrow so fingers crossed her is okay to delay.

Life just keeps moving along. Smile. Love yourself. Find whatever makes you happy. See ya next week with hopefully more stitching to share. I don't know what's screaming loudest to be stitched because I hear all of them. Me Me Me.

May 13th Monday Update

Hey all. It's my 45th birthday. Definitely feel old haha. A lot of arthritis lately making sure I know I'm aging not so gracefully haha. Let's see what stitching I did last week...

Monday and Tuesday I spun my acrostic tiny decision wheel.  Unicorn Biscornu by Tiny Modernist. This was from the monthly mix new starts I had planned for the year. Honestly I'm surprised by how SLOW these biscornus move and I'm confused. Is it the 18ct Aida? Is it the pattern? So weird. Oh well. I'm glad they are started but honestly they are a pain to stitch haha. I will mix them into my WIPs and make progress no matter how SLOW they go haha. I had the goal of 200 for my acrostic list. Monday I added 163 and Tuesday added 144. This one I decided to start with the back panel so I got to stitch some pretty pastel flowers and a diamond...

18ct Vintage Country Mocha with the suggested DMC.

Wednesday was another new start. Every Wednesday in May. Wohoo. This time the wheel picked Gathering Berries by Luminous Fiber Arts and I was so excited to start this one. My first Luminous Fiber Arts pattern. Definitely not my last! 32ct Vintage Country Mocha (Yes I love this color if you haven't noticed haha). The thread is a Classic Colorworks Belle Soie called Cranberry and it's SOOOO soft. I added 536 stitches...

I really enjoyed this one a lot as you can see. It will be back out soon I bet. But more acrostics to mark off in my Mega May stitching month.

Thursday I spun an OLD Mill Hill. Harvest Wagon. The theme for one was Farmer's Market and I seen this old WIP on my list and thought hey a wagon full of pumpkins screams farmer's market to me. So I sat the goal for 100 stitches. After some research I bought this with mom on a trip to House of Stitches in 2019. Started it for Halloween in 2019. Here is where I was with it...

I started stitching and was loving it. I noticed there wasn't a lot left. I hit the 100 mark and kept going. At dinner I only had 3 symbols left to finish. So I went back to it after dinner. Added a total of 292 I finished it...

So Wohoo a finish to mark off my always growing WIP list haha. I'm going to make a magnet for the fridge but it's cut out and ready.

Friday Jeremiah spun the wheel again and Beer Dragon was picked. Perfect for a weekend. I wanted my 500 monthly goal. Friday I added 370 then Sunday added 141. So I hit 511...

Looking great! Getting close to another column finish. I think there is only one page left for this top row. So happy about the progress I'm finally making on this beauty.

So far I've stitched 3,392 stitches this month and loving every single one. It's been fun stitching so many different things. The acrostics are definitely fun for me. I'm glad I found these challenge groups.

Today is my birthday so I'm doing a new start today and Wednesday this week. Jeremiah picked Luck of the Irish by Primrose Cottage for today. We haven't spun yet for Wednesday.

I seen in my email this morning the sweet Faith sent me a birthday GC for 123stitch. So I'll get to go shopping. That's always fun to do haha.

Quick life update as well. Saturday was my Uncle's Celebration of Life and it was wonderful. He would have loved it. Probably 150 people showed up throughout the day. It was just a laid back celebration in his wood shop. I seen some family I hadn't seen in way too long. They did a full military salute which was beautiful but so many tears were shed. It was a lovely day. He will be missed by many but I smile thinking of the party in Heaven with my mom and their parents. They were happy to see him again I'm sure.

We also had a nice time here at the campground. Bev is doing good. Tired easily but still doing okay. She did need some platelets last week but it went well. So we are just waiting and enjoying time that we are lucky enough to have. Dad came over today. They aren't planting their big field of corn this year so we are making us a small garden and I'm just so excited. Tomatoes, cucumbers, and zucchini are definitely going to be planted. It will be so nice to learn dad's techniques because he's great at gardening. I'm sure so thankful.

Anyway I want to get off here and STITCH haha. Thanks for reading my rambling haha.

Apr 29th Monday Update

Hello to my readers so few they are haha. Time for a Monday update. WIPocalypse was yesterday but let's talk about details of what I did last week.

Monday -- No stitching time. Computer catch up and Groceries stole the day.

Tuesday -- Worked on Spring Line Up by The Trilogy. I want to finish this by June 1st if I can for a challenge I'm in. But we'll see....no pressure. I added 441...

I just love this one. Every row is exciting and fun to stitch. I will work it in so I can finish it up. I think it's going to come up today and tomorrow too.

Wednesday -- April 23rd Semi Sane (a Facebook stitching challenge group I really enjoy) released a pop up challenge. In honor of National Book Day we needed to put 300 stitches in a piece by 4pm EST on the 25th that you can relate to a book, whether it shows a book, or the theme or motifs can be related to a book. Right away I knew I had the perfect WIP...

Book Dragon from Paine Free Crafts. So I added 304 and posted at 1:05 EST on the 25th...

Thursday -- After finishing up the stitches for that challenge I worked on the Mermaid Biscornu by Tiny Modernist. It was the last one I needed to finish my acrostic challenges for the month...

Friday -- Jeremiah's 26th birthday!!! I can't believe he is 26! He can't believe it either. He got a new game for his Xbox and we planned to eat out Saturday. So we just relaxed and enjoyed the day. I decided a new start was called to celebrate the day haha. Good excuse huh?

Patriotic Gnome Littles by Waxing Moon Designs. I also have the Christmas set like this. These are just too cute. I seen them at my LNS when I visited in March for the stitch day. I couldn't remember if I had them so I waited to check. Nope I was thinking of the Christmas ones. So I planned to look next time I went to the store. April stitch day the one chart was still sitting there waiting for me. So I grabbed it up. Meant to be if you ask me haha. I bought a piece of 32ct Platinum Belfast (Yep Linen!) to stitch them on. I am doing them individual like pictured but stitching them on the same piece so I don't waste so much fabric.

Jeremiah picked the middle top one first. He was called Fireworks Gnome. I got 822 added on Friday. He went quickly and was a lot of fun to work on.....like everything right now. I'm so in love with stitching....Saturday we had a fun day so no stitching....Sunday I got back to work on him and added 325 more stitches and finished him...

Just love him so much! Can't wait to stitch the others. I really enjoyed the linen too so funny how our tastes change.

Saturday we went to a new restaurant that opened beginning of April here in town. They have a food truck that is Viking themed. Jeremiah loves Viking so we checked it out. Still really new but the food was delicious. I hope they can stop open. The Hungry Heathen. We also got haircuts which felt fantastic. I always wait till my hair is driving me nuts haha. Then we came back and picked up Spike. We ran into Marion a larger town about 18 mins away. I ran into hobby lobby (with my eyes closed) Jeremiah wanted some frames...

When we attend the wrestling convention we get all the signatures on the poster we get with our tickets. Luckily they had the perfect frames for like $4 so I grabbed two. One for each year. Now I catch Jeremiah just staring at the awesome signatures. We've had them in a tub so they didn't get ruined. Better to have them displayed! We went to a huge dog park and Spike got to run. Stopped a few other places and came home to watch movies. It was lovely day together.

Sunday Dad, Bev, and a few others stopped over to visit. She did not have any complications while in the hospital this round. She was released Saturday. Last time it was 4 - 8 days later so my dad is worried sick about what this week will bring. But we are keeping positive that maybe it didn't cause difficulties this time around. Guess we'll wait and see.

I had to stop typing and run out to get the mail....happy mail....

This package sure had a journey. I ordered from a stitching store in Laporte, Indiana on the 18th of April. Supposed to come April 24th. It went from Laporte to Elk Grove, Illinois. Then to Indianapolis, Indiana. Then to Saint Paul, Minnesota?!?! Then it was just in transit for several days so I was really worried it was lost. Then back to Indianapolis. To Kokomo. Finally here today haha. I guess at least it arrived safely. Two planned new May starts so glad it finally showed up. LOL

Okay well have a great week. May is Wednesday and I will have a new start. Every Wednesday in May. Wohoo! I have two other new starts to sneak in sometime. One was a planned new start from my 12 monthly mixed bag I picked. Love yourself. Find lots of reasons to smile.

Apr 8th Monday Update

Hello all. Here we are again another Monday update. Let's see what stitching I did last week...

Monday I worked on the Winter 2024 SAL from Stitchonomy. I did see a photo of the whole 6 part SAL now...
Got 128 added after computer time. I might work on this 1 day a week till finished. Haven't decided. So many pieces are screaming at me haha.

Tuesday I added 783 to Spring Line Up by The Trilogy...
Wednesday it was time for my monthly Halloween Potions by Les Petites Croix De Lucie. Added 310 this time...
Thursday I started my monthly pick for new starts. This time it was Dragon Biscornu by Tiny Modernist. I added 602 for Day 1...
One of the little dragons is all stitched up. Love the way he turned out!!!

Friday I picked Grow Together by HAED. Added 259 for Day 24 on it...
Saturday All American by Primrose Cottage was yelling for attention. I added 459 and it got a little more quiet. I just might have to finish this one up soon...
It's fun to stitch on the 25ct Vintage Country Mocha Lugana fabric. Seems to go quickly.

Saturday we went up to Fort Wayne to Shipshewana on the Road. It's a large indoor flea market and we had a really nice time shopping. We ate at a favorite restaurant on the way out of town a hibachi place. Sunday my Grandma had a little lunch gathering. We went over and had a lovely time. Got to see Dad and Bev too. It was a nice visit. Bev has started physical therapy and is doing well. They haven't done any treatments trying to give her time to recover more. This week we will find out more about what their plans are for next treatments. I just hope she can continue to feel better.

Today was the eclipse. Right here in Wabash we were 96% I think so it was a great view right out in our yard. Fred had to work but was able to see it up there. Honestly I'm glad it's over it's all they've been talking about on TV haha.

Okay I have to get some things done so I can stitch. I hear so many loud screams from my tote. I wonder what will win this week. Have a wonderful week. Love yourself. Find any reason you can to smile as often as possible.

Mar 4th Monday Update

Wow it's March already. I know we all say this but life is just speeding by. I really really wish it would slow down. But we have some fun things planned this month so I'm glad it's here. Let's see what stitching I did last week.

Monday I worked on the Mermaid Biscornu after a busy day with computer work during the day and groceries in the evening. 98 stitches added.

Tuesday I worked on Winter Line Up and Finished it!!!
(#7) February 27th
Winter Line Up
by The Trilogy
Fabric 32ct Lambswool Lugana
Threads Suggested DMC
Started Dec 5, 2023. Took 12 Days.
3,367 Total Stitches

Wednesday I worked on the Biscornu again. 124 stitches added. So I ended the month with 1,874 stitches in this one...

Thursday I was in a weird mood so took the day off and did computer stuff.

Friday I woke up grouchy but treated myself to a new start which always helps haha.
This was the pick for this month in my mixed 12 monthly new starts. I love these Erica Michael's charts. So teeny on the 40ct silk gauze. I did treat myself to the suggested specialty threads. I love the way they look and using only one strand the threads go far with these. End of the day I had added 1,001 little stitches...

Looks so big on the picture haha. Next time I'll have to get a picture with a coin or something.

Bev update. She fell on Monday and was not feeling well at all. She went in for blood work Tuesday and they sent her to the hospital. They did all the tests and found out her potassium and magnesium was low so they medicated her and let her rest. Complications from chemo. She came home Friday. My dad said every time he takes her up he brings one less piece of her home. She is high spirits but very tired. So please send prayers/thoughts her way.

Saturday we decided to celebrate Fred's birthday early with a day out geocaching. If you haven't heard o it you go online to geocaching website. People hide things and post coordinates for you to find it. You use a GPS and locate the item. Inside is a sheet of paper where you sign your name and you log the point. We've done this since Jeremiah as tiny. Something to do to get you out and about. Plus other than gas it's free entertainment. The weather was lovely so we spent the day driving around the country. We found 13 and hit a total of 1800 since we started. We also stopped by Fred's favorite cigar shop. Grabbed some groceries and dinner and headed home. I had several phone calls with people about having a get together Sunday here at the campground since the weather was going to be gorgeous.

Sunday we woke up had breakfast. Started a fire in the fire pit and waited. Dad and Bev was able to come over. We ended up with 18 people including us here. It was a lovely day and impromptu gathering. It was great for Bev to visit with people and sit in the sunshine. Dad was able to relax and enjoy everyone helping to get what Bev needed. It was just needed. I put my phone on mute and put it down. Everyone was gone by 7pm and we had a wrestling pay per view to watch we were excited about. My eyes kept closing so we shut it off at 10pm and went to sleep haha. I'm so old  haha. It was a lovely day and we all needed it.

There is so much going on in the world and our worlds. We are in a holding pattern. We don't know what's to come. But we try to focus on what we have each day and celebrate each little thing.  I have to breath and know the future is a question but I will go where I need to go when I need to go there. So breath and enjoy my day currently. I will do just that.

Have a great week. Love yourself. Find reasons to smile. Stitch when we can. Stop when we need to.

Feb 26th Monday Update

You might have sneaked a peek at some of my progress photos if you looked at the WIPocalypse update yesterday but you don't get the fun details of my week. So sit back and enjoy my look at last week.

Monday I worked on Rainbow Dragon again. Only 60 stitches added but it was a busy day so just wanted to work on what was ready on my QSnap...
Tuesday was my day for Winter Line Up progress. I got an awesome 546 added. I really really hope to finish it this week even if I have to work on it more than 1 day...
Then I'll start the Spring one March 19th when it's officially Spring...
Wednesday was Hedgehogs in the Snow Day 10 added 215...

Thursday was a 2 project day trying to finish up my monthly acrostic goals. First up was a oldie Stitcher's Code SAL from Stitchingly. It was released in 2019. I got it because I love Durene Jones artwork. I'm stitching them individually. I finished the scissors one in 2020. I needed to do the outline on the frog one I was working on previously and then started the parking one...

After hitting my goal I moved to Christmas Truck. The kit I bought while on vacation in OBX. Just love a red truck with a Christmas tree haha.

I added 102 Thursday and 118 Friday before putting it away.

So that finished my acrostics other than Mermaid Biscornu and Winter Line Up. Winter Line Up will be a finish this week! Mermaid Biscornu will not and that's okay. I know now that these biscornu's take a lot more work than I originally thought. So I will carry on working on that one as a normal WIP in my tote. No worries.

So Friday afternoon I added 339 more stitches to the Mermaid Biscornu...

I didn't realize how long each little mermaid would take haha. Oh well. Love the way it looks. Saturday and Sunday it was time for a new start...
I joined the Winter Stitchonomy SAL. It's a Mystery SAL but I have enjoyed others from Stitchonomy and peer pressure from a few friends *cough Faith cough* was one haha. Here is week one finished after 965 stitches...

I bought the complete kit from Stitchonomy. The fabric is 14ct Riviera Aqua Aida. Threads look like DMC from what I can tell. I just love the way it looks so far. I did see it's typography which I always enjoy. What's next??? We'll have to wait till Friday to see.

Our weather is typical Indiana Springish time but we've been running about 20 or 30 degrees above average. Then it snows. So never know what will be out the window. Today the front door is open. Wednesday snow. In between possible severe storms. 60plus to 30's haha.

Last Wednesday Jeremiah had another eye doctor appointment and everything was great. His pressure was lowest she had seen it. Who knows why we haven't changed anything since last visit. But we hope it stays that way. I had my BP checked and it was still high so they doubled my med. Which made me dizzy and way confused so hopefully that means it's working haha. I go the 11th to be checked again. Fingers crossed that was the answer. Bev did great with her 2nd treatment. Just a 5 day hospital stay back home yesterday. This time they put her on a chemo pill to keep taking while at home. She will go back to the hospital in 3 weeks for another stronger treatment. But so far so good. So thankful.

Okay I've been updating this way too long. Typical Monday. Everything goes longer than you want haha. So I'm off. Love yourself. Find a reason to smile. Hugs. Have a wonderful week.
