New Mercies…Every Morning

June22 blk

I’ve had the pleasure of working again with Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps for the month of June and featuring this set, New Creature.

Here is a quick and simple card I put together using dies and beautiful dp!

Sweet 'n Sassy, New Creature

The butterfly is stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and clear embossed, colored with Copics and some white gel pen, I sponged the verse with Adirondack Wild Plum while still in the Fancy Tags 3 Spellbinders die… then using Memory Box Spring Border and Estate Fence, die cut the flowers and fence!

June22 clsup

I stamped the butterfly on the dp, then hand cut the colored one and popped it up over the other, that way I didn’t have to fuss with the antennas!

The DP is Bo Bunny Garden Collection, I love the yummy colors!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Beautiful Butterflies

June6 blk

The girls from Flower Soft are sharing the Butterflies Die Cut Dimensions kit. This is one of my favorite kits to demo at shows too!

June6

So easy to just add a verse or sentiment, pop up the die cut butterflies and you’re just about good to go!

For my card I stamped the verse in Versafine Onyx Black and clear embossed. The butterfly I also stamped and embossed, colored with Copics and hand cut. Using Flower Soft glue, I attached it only along the body.

The die cut piece was then adhered to Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles.

The butterfly and verse are from Sweet ‘n Sassy, New Creature.

Off to Wool Gathering…but first

I wanted to share this adorable new digital image from Sweet n’ Sassy stamps called Pick of the Harvest. I also did today’s sketch, SSS22, from their Sweet Spot.

SNS PickofHarvest There was an added twist to the sketch…use red/black/tan. Isn’t she sweet standing on her tippy toes to reach that apple. It’s all colored with Prismacolor pencils with little highlights using an Inkssentials white gel pen.

here’s the inside SNS PickInside

I drew in the apples along the bottom and colored them with Copics.

So, yes, I’m off to Wool Gathering! I’ll be spinning and sharing the llamas alllllll day! Answering the same questions alllllll day!! YES, they spit! No, they’re LLAMAS not Alpacas!

This is some of what I’ll be spinning today! Shadow, dyed with kool-aid! WG ShadowDyed 09

Have a Beautiful day!!

Certainly is a Harvest of Blessings and an Autumn Stroll Blog Hop!

I know I’ve complained a bit about how the garden put forth an abundance at the busiest time of Summer, but I’m truly thankful and I know we’ll enjoy all the things I’ve canned or frozen when we have snow on the ground! I just finished putting up about 2 gallons of salsa!! And, yes…I’m going to make several more batches over the next couple of weeks!

Now I want to share another blessing… this new digital set from Sweet n’ Sassy Stamps,
Harvest Fruits.

harvestfruits-watermarkedHarvest closeupIt’s all colored with Copics with a little gel pen highlights. I also tried something new… a Magical Marquee Card! I’ll give you the link to a tutorial in a minute.

HarvestClosed   Here is what it looks like closed…
and here it is open

HarvestOpen

Those curtains just magically open! TaDa!!

I’ll admit, mine didn’t go together quite as easily as in the tutorial, but it’s so cool! The card measure 5x5.

The verse is sponged with distress ink.
All the cardstock is generic stuff from Hollo’s (this awesome store north of me where paper is $1.25 a pound! yeah.. a POUND! good thing it’s almost a 2 hr drive for me or I’d have a whole room full of paper!) The patterned paper is Pocket Full of Posies by DCWV.

Okay…here is the tutorial link I promised… Magical Marquee Card.

And here is the next blog in line Ceal Pritchett, enjoy. Be sure to stop by the SNS blog tomorrow and Friday during the hop!

and as always…

Thanks for stopping!

Showers of Blessings & Labor Day Trivia

CedarvilleSignSm
I hope you’re enjoying the last of the “Summer” holidays, the last of the picnics…and you can thank James Kyle for your day off work. Lots of good things come from Ohio! *grin*

Here’s my card for our CCEE challenge…Frances has the month of September and started us out with a sketch.
9-7 Blessings of God I used this cute digital image from Sweet n’ Sassy Stamps called Showers of Blessing.*note, it's a digital image I downloaded and printed.
showers of blessing1

I paper pieced her dress by putting the printed image on my light table, putting the patterned paper on top and tracing. Then I just cut it out and glued it in place!

showers of blessing2
The image is colored with Copics and sponged with Faded Jeans distress ink. A Sakura Souffle gel pen was used for the rain. I sponged the greeting while it was still in the nestie… And of course I had to add some Swimming Pool Mudd Puddles sand ! The base layer is colored with a Copic marker to match the umbrella. *note! that's NOT Flower Soft! It's sand*

A Sweet & Sassy Guest Spot!

Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps that is! I’ll be a guest designer with them for September!! How fun is that! I’m excited about showing you their stuff!
Be sure to visit their
blog on Tuesday for a blog hop!

This card is a combo challenge of the Featured Stamper on SCS, Darlene (another Ohio gal!), and our CCEE challenge with supplies sent to us by Cindy.

FS134 Smiling closeupIsn’t he the cutest bear?! It’s a digital set called Leave Me Smiling. See the trail of ants through the leaves? I drew those in so my card would have bugs on it per Cindy!

FS134 Smiling  Cindy sent us the wonderful patterned paper, chipboard flowers, the adorable twill, yellow brads, and flower brad. I daubered distress inks onto the flowers, then stamped one of the sentiments from an acrylic set from Sweet ‘n Sassy, called, His Eye is on the Sparrow, several times.

The image is colored with Copics then I took my daubers with whatever ink was left in them and sponged round the bear.

Wednesday I’ll a fun card to show you, a new set from SNS!

If you’d like to see what the other girls did with their supplies or even play along with us, you can go to our blog.

Thanks for stopping by!! Hope your week is wonderful!

The Magic of Paper and Copics

The need of a sympathy card and today’s Ways to Use It challenge on SCS …Very Vintage

Several days ago I printed this digital image, Forget-Me-Not, from Sweet n’ Sassy not knowing I’d be needing it so soon.

Now, my title? Well, as you can see I started out coloring my flowers in stages of pinks…got them finished and thought about the NAME of the set and WHY I was making the card! I know, flowers can be any color you want them to be…but instead of starting all over I just colored over!

Ola4 Ola5
I love how all the colors blended and “magically” became blue Forget-Me-Nots!

Now, since this was to be a vintage card, I had to dirty it up a bit. All the pieces were sponged with Distress inks, even the ribbon and green lace (so they weren’t so bright)! The ribbon looks “older” in real life with the sponging…honest!
WT233 Never Forgotten
The flower centers have Crackle Accents and Liquid Pearls and are popped up on a thick foam dimensional.

The cool vintage ledger paper is from Mel’s blog, she’s got lots of freebie stuff!! It’s printed on white with just the edges sponged with Old Paper, Tea Dye, and Walnut Stain Distress inks.

stamps: forget-me-not digital- sweet n’ sassy paper: prism kraft, sunflowers med, georgia pacific white ink: old paper, tea dye, walnut stain distress-ranger other: copics r21-32, e04-55-30-53, yg21-91,y35-38, b12-23-24 , computer/printer, cuttlebug/embossing folder, spiral punch, spellbinders ribbon tag, anna griffin ribbon, prima lace, lace from my sewing stash, pearls, crackle accents-ranger, liquid pearls, top note, foam dimensional, glue dots, zip dry glue, dauber, craft knife, scissors

Thanks for stopping by today,
it’s been my pleasure showing you how I cover up boo-boo’s! tee hee
