Pawsitively Terrific!

TLC326 blk

Remember back a few weeks, my trip to Mississippi and me meeting a cyber friend, Shirley?

ShirleySwoope Strbks1

Well, in our gabfest she mentioned this box she made with a carrying case for her Copics. I told her she was just TOO organized!! “Oh”, she said, “I’ll make you one!!”

Imagine my surprise last week when this box arrived and in it was my awesome box/carrier…. AND she’d made a smaller version for my DD, Amber too! HOW SWEET IS THAT!!!

copiccase1

She uses double-sided quilted fabric…isn’t it beautiful!!

copiccase2

The flaps have Velcro so there is no worry of a spill!

copiccase3

She makes all these little boxes too!

copiccase4

This is how I had my Copics… and trust me, I’ve had to pick up more than one spill in several vehicles! Not fun!

copiccase5

And this is how they look now!! I even have a “little” room for a few more colors! (actually, if I’d refill some that need it….it would be full!). How cool is that! I have it propped up too so it’s at an angle and easy to see each one!

THANK YOU SHIRLEY!!!!!!!

Today’s Technique Challenge on Splitcoast is Sentiment Underneath. I’d had this Inky Antics, Peek Over, colored and sentiment stamped since the trip! I’ve got a bazillion things to do this week, deadlines, AND I need to start shearing … in between t-storms! So, I kept it really simple!!  The kitty panel is attached by a brad, then I cut out one of the Paw Prints and stuck it to the brad with a glue dot! I scored the cs with my Scor-Buddy and added 3 more brads. The cute DP is DCWV’s Pet Stack.

Now, I’m outta here and getting busy… uh… busier!

Friends Along The Way

sc330 blk

Life’s truest happiness
is found in the friendships
we make along the way.

A fun sketch today on Splitcoast and I decided to use an image I haven’t colored in a looooong time! Puppy Love  (and sentiment) from Inky Antics.

sc330 side

It’s colored with Copics, doodles with a Multiliner,
faux cardstock layers (white cs colored with Copics around the edges). DP is DCWV The Pet Stack.

Hope your day is going well… we’re still inundated with T-storms! Tornado sirens went off while I was making this card… I’m so tired of rain and mud! The bright spot is it’s a great time to STAMP!

Thanks for stopping!

Cowboys and Snowmen

Somewhat of an odd combination? Not really...they're just what I happened to use for today's Sketch Challenge on SCS *wink*

I needed a "guy" birthday card for a friend today. I just love this little cowboy from Inky Antics.
It's colored with Copics. For his chaps I used the blender pen and dotted it around to remove the color and give them some texture.

The hay bale was repeatedly stamped then airbrushed. The "leather looking" strip? That's a piece of an old belt I ran through the Cuttlebug!
I "dirtied" everything up by sponging Frayed Burlap distress ink around the edges.

stamps:inky antics ink:tuxedo black-tsukineko, frayed burlap-ranger paper:gp white, prism kraft/nautical blue med other:copics, abs, foam dimensionals, cuttlebug/ef, martha stewart fence punch, sakura white gel pen

This next card is a new Winter rubber stamp image from Janlynn. It's colored with Copics, masked and sponged with distress ink that was left on my dauber from a previous card... and Mudd Puddles Snow sand added under the snowman.

The sentiment is also a Stamps Happen image from Janlynn...I only inked up the the top portion of the greeting for this card, then used my white gel pen to highlight the word.

stamps: stamps happen/janlynn ink: tuxedo black-tsukineko, distress ink paper: gp white, deja view, dcwv, hollo's black other: copics, mudd puddles sand, sakura white gel pen, foam dimensionals, snowflake buttons-jesse james beads, cuttlebug/ef

A Get Well Wish and A New Look!

Notice the new look to my blog?! Too cool! Thanks to Amber for pointing me to Shabby Blogs. It’s so easy to do! (now I’m trying to figure how to get those cute dividers onto my page!)

A good friend of ours had a disagreement with a ladder last week…the ladder won! Poor Dave ended up with an ambulance ride, one of those halo thingys on his leg with pins in his ankle and another surgery this week to put plates on his shin. OUCH!

BackInTheSaddle crp

Being so busy with fair, today was the first chance I had to sit down and make the card I had in mind. The cute cowboy and sentiment are from Inky Antics. It’s colored with Copics, masked and then airbrushed.

The Technique Lovers Challenge on SCS today was Leafing Pen Resist. You take watercolor paper and a leafing pen (Krylon) and just have fun. I tried to make mine look like a barbed wire fence. Then you take Color Wash (or watercolors) and spritz over the paper. The leafing pen will resist the color! You can dab at the wet paper with a paper towel, spritz with water and/or just keep adding color until you have the desired look. (don’t mix too many though or you’ll just have a muddy look!)

I also used the Copper Krylon Leafing pen on the star brads.

TLC234 Back In The SaddleSending lots of prayers Dave’s way for a speedy recovery!

Mondays, Techniques and Free Downloads

Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday!
Sorry about my post...somehow my graphic didn't work.

Today promises to be a beautiful day with Sunshine Pictures, Images and Photos!! Yippee!!

I have 2 cards to share with you today, one for the technique on SCS, the other for my Monday challenge with a group of friends. Here's my CCEE card...it's our "Catchy Name Featured Stamper", "Imamuttnut" was our inspiration....so our card had to have a dog on it!
This image is by Inky Antics. I just love Janie Miller's style...her animals are too cute! It's colored with Prismacolor pencils (I'm trying to use them more to save my Copics! lol!) blended with baby oil. That cute doggy paper is a pack I picked up at Big Lots for....are you ready.. a buck! It's 8x8 sheets to boot! It's called Zippy Bow Wow Meow by Sue Zipkin...too cute!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

The technique on SCS today is the Bandana Technique, basically stamping...or in this case printing! onto colored cardstock and using your stamped images as your guide as you dot and dash your way around your designs.

I used this FREE "doodled" digital image from Mel...sheesh, sure wish I could doodle like that!
Thanks Mel!!

Prism Nautical Blue, Georgia Pacific White and My Mind's Eye were my papers of choice today. Inkssentials White gel pen on the flowers and Elmer's Paint stick around the edges. I used Copics on the colored flowers and colored my ribbon to match.WINK Pictures, Images and Photos
Pretty simple and quick to throw together! Some days you need that! LOL!
Hope it's wonderful where you are today....Enjoy the day!!

Inky Antics Fun...and a Pretty Butterfly

Saturday, Amber and I went to the Scrapbook Expo in Columbus. Wall to wall vendors and people!

I didn't do a lot of buying...more looking...but I did make a point of stopping at Inky Antics! I love their stuff....and Janie Miller is such a fun illustrator!

Here are two cards I've done so far with Lester (the moose) and Puppy Love.

Lester is colored with Prismacolor pencils blended with baby oil. The trees are from PSX and the daisies from Cornish Heritage Farms.

Pup and Kitten are colored with Copic markers. The paw prints are from Top Dog by Artful Inkables.
Inside it says, Happiness is an unexpected hug. Awwww (sentiment is also from Inky Antics)
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

And this? Just because I love the simplicity of it...the Cuttlebug folder, Friends Forever is perfect for Gina K's Take Flight to light upon!

I hope you're having a beautiful day where you are! It's sunny and warmer today here!! Yippeee!!!

Thanks for stopping!
