A Couple Of Challenges

I have made this card for the Roses On Paper Challenge (16) which has the theme of 'Summer & Vacation'. I have covered the base card with a lovely floral paper and attached two peel-off corners. I then added a piece of silver ribbon and placed my image on top with foam pads. I finished it by adding a small rose at the top of the ribbon.

This one is for the Cupcake Craft Challenge (49) who's theme this week is 'A Christmas Card'. I have used a cute angel decoupage for this one but can't remember where I got it from, sorry, senior moment!!! I made the borders using an X-Cut punch and added gold ric-rac ribbon. The greeting is a peel-off.

"I know a secret..."

Challenges

Simon Says (10) - Colour Combo

Colour Create (22) - Colour Combo

Sunday Sketch & Stamp (6) - Sketch

Papertake - My Favourite Things

I started this card by cutting a circle of paper and putting it over the corner and trimming it off. Next I cut a rectangle of card and embossed it with the Cuttlebug and placed this across the middle at an angle. I stamped and coloured one of my favourite images using my pencils and layered it onto green card before attaching it with foam pads. The ribbon was then put down the side and the greeting rub-on added. Finally I punched out some flowers, added green pearls and placed these in the corner.

Yet another bright card! Not like me at all. Not too sure about the 'orange', think I should have picked one of the other colours. Anyway, I think it looks nice and 'Summery'. I think the flowers should be a bit more 'on the curve' but I did make this card at 4.30am this morning so I think I can be forgiven for a few mistakes. After a long day at work I have managed to have a little nap so hopefully the next card will be a bit better???

Magnolia vs Stampavie Challenge (20)

This week we had a colour combo challenge which was 'Red, Black and White' with optional 'Grey'. I love this colour combo and was eager to do something. I was going to make a card but I decided to make this little gift box instead. The box has a side opening with a sleeve band around it. I think maybe the punched tag is a wee bit to big for the box but hey! let's call it artistic licence. Please excuse the pictures, I scanned them because I was too lazy to get the camera out!!!
The card I used was printed on the computer with one of Jak Heath's free downloads (see sidebar for link) and I used one of her 'Build A Blossom' flowers again, I do so love these! I stamped the tag with Sarah Kay's 'Picnic Of Daisies' stamps and coloured it with MLP pens. As you can see I managed to incorporate the optional grey colour.

Magnolia vs Stampavie Challenge (17)

This week's challenge is a lovely sketch by Carla. I started by covering the base card with two different papers. I then added a lace doyley and a piece of paper lace that I had inked with Brilliance Pearlescent inkpads. Next I stamped, coloured (using pencils) and cut out the image and attached her with foam pads. I then punched green and pink flowers from pearl paper and added a pearl to the centres. I finished off with a peel-off greeting.

Magnolia V's Stampavie Challenge (14)

This week's challenge is a 'colour challenge' using the colours above.

This is not a colour combination that I would not normally think of using so I had to really think about this one - a challenge in itself!!! First I layered two pieces of paper onto a navy card blank. I then cut a strip of chocolate card and glued some matching ribbon to it before attaching it to the bottom of the card. The image was stamped and coloured using my watercolour pencils and using my Nesties and Cuttlebug I layered it onto navy card. I attached this with foam pads. To finish it off I added a double flower and button (re-coloured with alchohol inks).

This is the second card I made tonight at craft club. As you can see we used a sketch from Mojo Monday. I like this sketch very much and will use it again. Magnolia V's Stampavie Challenge (9)

This week's challenge at Magnolia V's Stampavie is 'Give A Little' so I have made a CD Jewel Case Calendar.

I started off by separating the top & bottom of the CD case and then putting it back together the 'wrong' way round. Doing this enables it to stand up instead of just closing. I then covered a piece of cardstock with papers from Monti's Pixel Playground (make sure you cover the reverse side as well as this will also be on show). I then coloured in the dragonflies with Sakura Glitter pens to give a bit of sparkle, and added a PB sticker of daisies to the bottom corner. I stamped and coloured a Sarah Kay image with MLP pens and cut this out and attached it with 1mm foam pads. Having inserted it into the CD case I attached a small calendar to the front of the case.

Sketch And Stash Challenge (1)

I have made this card for the new Sketch And Stash challenge which started this week. We have to follow a sketch and use a 'new' bit of stash on it. For my stash I have used a Sarah Kay stamp I had for Xmas which I have coloured with MLP pens and layered using my Nesties. The greeting is from LOTV which I have also coloured. I can't remember where the background paper came from as it was in my scrapbox. The butterfly brad is from my stash.

Thanks for looking.

Magnolia Vs Stampavie Challenge (8)

At Magnolia Vs Stampavie the challenge was to use this sketch and make a 'Thank You' card.
I used a freebie paper from Shabby Princess. The stamps used are Sarah Kay and Stampendous. I embossed the greetings using a versacolor inkpad and did faux stitching along the edges of the blue CS using a MLP pen. The image is coloured with my watercolour pencils. The little frame is one that my friend Val gave me and I coloured it using pearl paints. The butterfly is a peeloff and the flowers are from Habico.

Three In One...

This card fits these three challenges:-
Papertake - Dawny's Sketch 5, Cupcake Craft - (20) Background Inspired and Stamp Something - Something New.
OK, here we go then. First we have Dawny's lovely sketch which I loved doing (I shall certainly be using it again). Second the colour theme is inspired by CC's challenge blog which is pink & brown. The papers are from my scrapbox and the base cardstock is from Stampin Up (Chocolate Chip). The ribbon is from Craft Work and the tag was die cut with the Cuttlebug. The flowers and button are from my stash. Last but not least, the image is a new stamp I got for Christmas. It is Sarah Kay's 'Picnic of Daisies' and I have coloured it using Marvy Le Plume pens.
You might have noticed that the papers & card I have been using lately are, on the whole, from my scrapbox. This is because one of my New Year's Resolutions is to use up the bits in my scrapbox as much as possible. Therefore I can't always remember where they are from. As I have 5 different scrapboxes all with offcuts in I think it might take me to NEXT year before I have used them all ha!ha! Thanks for looking.
