You Brighten My Day

Here is a little fun card.  When I saw the sketch I was quite daunted as I wasn't sure what I could do.  Well, I thought long and hard and when I saw this digi stamp from Graphic Garden I saw the circles as raindrops.  This is the result.  My images is coloured with promarkers and pencils and die cut with the 'off the edge' technique (not done that for a few years).  The sentiment stamp is from Wee Stamps.  Ribbon and gems from stash.

Spring Bunny

Here is the last one for today.

The background paper is an old bit I found in the scrapbox.  I have die cut the wooden bench from some recycled wood effect paper used in advertising.  The digi bunny is from Graphic Garden and has been coloured with promarkers and pencils and then sat on the bench using foam pads.  The shrub is a die cut tree from Spellbinders that I have cut down.  To this I have added little paper flowers with gem centres.  The sentiment is from my stash.

Creative Inspiration (30) - Anything But A Card

This is a little gift I made for someone. Isn't this puppy just sooo adorable? I coloured him lightly with pencils and layered him using my Nesties. The sentiment is stamped and equally layered. The flowers and leaves are punched with brads in the centres. All tied together with a piece of ribbon.

You can't see it open as I 'scanned' it instead of taking a photo, sorry.

AWOL and a few challenges at last!

You might have noticed that I have been a bad blogger for the past week. Apologies all round but here come the excuses... First, I have not been well the last couple of weeks and that left me totally drained and stressed. Consequently, although I have just had a week off work all I have wanted to do was to relax and watch the dreaded telly :-( Secondly, my blinkin mojo got up and walked out!!! Every time I went to craft I got up after about 5 minutes because there was nothing there :-(

THE GOOD NEWS IS - I attended our local craft show at Ringwood yesterday, bought some new goodies, and hopefully that will make my mojo return home where it belongs lol :-)

Meantime, I shall enter a couple of older cards that I have not shown before into a few challenges. There is one quick new one as well so here they are -

Challenges

Crafty Creations (39) - Thanksgiving/Gratitude

Daring Cardmakers - Getting Punchy With It (Latest Punch Purchase)

This is the new card I quickly made for a friend to thank her for all the help she kindly gave me yesterday. I covered the base card with paper and put a panel of another paper down the left hand side. I then used my new MS punch (bought yesterday) to cut another panel (pearl paper) for the bottom of the card. The digi stamp image is coloured with pencils and layered using Nesties. The sentiment is stamped from a new set of stamps, also bought yesterday, and similarly layered. The flowers are made up using another new MS punch (Cornflower) and a Prima Got flower that has been sprayed with Glimmer Mist, although you can't see the subtle pearl effect in the picture.

Challenge

Paperplay (40) - Parlez Vous (Another Language)

This is a card I made earlier this year to celebrate Chinese New Year. The colours red and gold symbolize good luck and this year it is the year of the Ox. The main image is a chrysanthemum which I simply stamped and embossed. The words 'Kung Hei Fat Choy' is what Chinese people say when they greet each other at New Year and means 'Congratulations And Be Prosperous'.

Challenges

Charisma Cardz (43) - No Backing Paper

The Pink Elephant (39) - Brown/Yellow/Neutral/Own Choice (Green)

This is another card I made earlier this year and have never shown. Although the colour yellow is not very significant you will see that the flower on her hat is indeed yellow. The main image has been stamped and coloured with pencils as usual and layered onto brown and green card. The neutral backing is parch marque card. The sentiment has simply been stamped onto the backing card and peel-off borders to finish it off.

Card/Peel-Offs - Stash

Stamp With Fun (31) - A Card With A Scene

Last but not least, another one I made earlier this year but didn't show. OK so I know I didn't 'make up' the scene with different stamps, but, it's still a scene so I think it should be alright for the challenge :-) This time I coloured the image with pencils but then applied water for a watercoloured look. The background is glossy photo paper which I applied alchohol ink to (the best bit I've ever done ha!ha!). I used bubble stickers to finish it off. Again, a simple card.

Stamps - Penny Black/See D's

Bubble Stickers - Stash

That's all for now so thanks for looking.

Christmas Cutie

Challenges

Simon Says (25) - Sketch

Doodle Palace - Celebration + Sparkle

Stamp Something - Bling It Somethings

Following the lovely sketch I started by covering the base card with gold mirri card. I then cut a red strip, tied a ribbon around it, added a punched flower and attaching with foam pads. Next I layered up the cute little dog using Nesties. The dog is coloured with pencils and I have added glitter glue to his hat to give him some sparkle. The flowers are punched and attached with foam pads. Finally I added some bling in the shape of gem hearts.
