Winter Wishes

Another Christmas card today made in lovely pinks and blues.

I started with a square white base card and this I covered with blue polka dot paper.  I then added some snowflake acetate which I attached on left side only.  Next I added a pink panel which I attached a border of paper and stamped the sentiment on.  A bit of die cut holly came next.  My stamp is from Pink Gem and has been coloured with promarkers and stickles.

Butterfly Box

Challenges
Dutch Dare (127) - Anything But A Card
Digital Tuesday (126) - Going Buggy
Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes

Today I have made a 15cm square box to use for a card with some rather large flowers on it (thankfully I don't have to post it). I don't make boxes very often as I'm not very good with the measurements, but my friend offered her expert advice and this is the result! I'm very pleased with it, thanks Terri!

Okay, so I covered the box lid with some digi paper, making sure I rounded the corners off first. I then cut a nestie label, embossed it and inked around the edges with a promarker. I then cut a smaller label, stamped the sentiment, inked the edges and placed this onto the larger one. Now comes the fun part of arranging the flowers and punched leaves, all attached with silicone glue. Finally I added some butterflies which I punched from blue vellum. That's it, hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Birdie House

Challenges

Dutch Dare (79) - Birdhouse Card

This was a fun challenge I must say. On the challenge blog they are giving you a freebie template so you can make your card and really all you have to do is decorate it, simples. I have done mine quite traditionally using a 'wood' paper. The birdies are stamped and coloured with MLP pens. The flowers and leaves are punched and coloured with Promarkers. For the little sign I just wrote the words, distressed the card and added a bit of twine and a brad.

Tool Shed

Challenges

Cupcake Craft (88) - Don't Be Square
Papertake - Do Something Different (Shaped Card)
C.R.A.F.T. (48) - Shaped Card

Here is something a bit different for me as I usually make square or rectangular cards. I made this card using one of the Glitter Girls embossing boards. The little bear has been decoupaged but you can't see the layers because of the angle of the photo. The trellis and flowers were die-cut with the Cuttlebug and the interior is from a 'shop window' kit that I got ages ago. The lettering was done with rub-ons.

Daisy & Dandelion Challenge (13)

This week's challenge is a sketch and the colour combo of black & white.

Not too sure about this one, perhaps it's because I think animals should have some colour about them... Anyway, I've just added a touch of grey to soften the image a bit. The flower has been punched and I have added silver brads here and there.

Marshmallow

Challenges

Daisy & Dandelion (12) - Sketch
C.R.A.F.T. (2) - Moving Components
Creative Inspirations (10) - Brown & Blue

I followed Hazel's lovely sketch to make this card. I have used one of the D & D stickers as the main image and layered it using Nesties. I then stitched (real) around the edges and added some coloured peel-off brads. I finished the image by making a card 'spring' out of card and attaching it by the 'spring' to the card. (Sorry about the fuzzy photo). It now wobbles! Having put a strip down the side of the card and stamping a balloon onto it, I finished it with faux stitching. Finally, I added a D & D sticker sentiment.

Daisy

Challenges

Daisy & Dandelion Craft (1) - Sketch
Colour Create (11) - Chocolate/Coffee/Cream (Distressing)

As you can see I have kept this card very simple so that the stamping stands out. Apart from the main image being lightly coloured with a pencil, the rest of the stamping has been left plain.

Bubbles (2 Challenges)

Challenges

Stamp Something - Sketch

Daisy & Dandelion (3) - Friends

For this card I used the lovely 'Bubbles' stamp from the Daisy & Dandelion series. These are great little characters and they stamp really well. I coloured it with my pencils to coordinate with the papers I have used, and added a flower and a bit of text. Very quick and easy to make by keeping it simple.

Spring Birthday (3 Challenges)

Challenges

Friday Sketchers (44) - Sketch

Stamp Something - Think Spring

Secret Crafter (24) - Favourite Colour (Pink)

This was a great sketch to follow and had me thinking for a while. I didn't want to make a square card so I elongated the sketch. All I knew when I started was that I wanted to do a card with 'Candyfloss' on it. This however is the third image attempt as I cut the first two too small, obviously not with it at all. I added glitter glue to the flowers on the background paper, don't know why, just fancied doing it. The frame over the image is mounted on foam pads to give a bit of dimension. I didn't have any green leaves for the flower so I used pastel peel-off pens to colour white satin leaves. I think these turned out rather well. I added a bow at the top as I had quite a large space which looked rather empty.

ABC - F Is For Flowers

First I attached two pieces of paper to the base card then I stamped, coloured & layered the main image before attaching with foam pads. Next came the real fun - SHRINK PLASTIC!!! I stamped the image onto white shrink plastic, coloured with pencils and blasted it with the heat gun. I love doing this... I finished by adding three daisies to the card.
