Sometimes bila pikir kena makan oat, rasa kembang anak tekak. Zarin suggested overnight oat. Sejuk dan nyaman je bila masuk tekak.
Sangat senang nak prepare oat ni. Just soak 3-4 tablespoon of quick cook oat dalam 1 1/2 cup of milk in a jar. Pastu simpan dalam fridge overnight. Serve with honey, sprinkle some dark choc chips or any topping of ur liking. Voila! dah siap :D

The Best Sambal Nasik Lemak
Every weekend, nasik lemak has become a routine Sunday morning menu. Hubby and Iffah is crazy over this sambal nasik lemak. This sambal nasik lemak is super easy and super delicious. Maybe jugak because it is so simple, maka rasa dia amplified.

The Best Sambal Nasik Lemak
Original recipe
4 biji bawang besar
10 ulas bawang putih
1 1/2 cup of cili giling (kalau tak suka pedas, boleh kurangkan)
1 sudu besar belacan
1/2 cup gula merah
gula, garam
1 sudu besar asam jawa - ambik air
1 cup air
cara2
1. blend bawang besar dan bawang putih.
2. panaskan minyak dalam periuk, tumis bawang hingga garing, masukkan cili giling dan belacan.
3. tumis hingga garing, masukkan gula merah dan 1 cawan air. biarkan merenih for about 30-45 minit. kalau terlalu kering, tambah lagi air.
4. bila sambal pekat dan likat, masukkan air asam jawa, garam dan gula. boleh tambah air panas kalau sambal terlalu pekat.
My nasi lemak dihidangkan dengan telur rebus, dan ayam goreng. Recipe ayam goreng is very simple. Basically it is just 1 sudu besar rempah kari campur dengan garam dan daun kari, gaul with ayam. Then goreng but tak terlalu garing.

Salami Rolls
Once in a while, aku would prepare this for the girls. It is very simple and sangat sedap. You should try this too. The kids would love it.
Recipe
1 pack (5) pieces of frozen roti canai or capati
I pack of salami or chicken slices
Shredded mozarella cheese
Direction
1. spread the roti canai dough, letak 1 keping salami and tabur shredded mozarella. Gulung.
2. Bakar for 20 minutes or until garing dalam oven 200 degree celcius.
All you need to do is, before tido, alihkan frozen roti canai and salami from freezer to chiller compartment dalam peti. Esok pagi, keluarkan dan boleh la prepare for breakfast anak2.

Roti Jala & Kari Sardin
Err.. aku rasa aku dah jatuh cinta dengan roti jala. Semalam, aku buat roti jala dengan kari sardin pulak. Kan semalam hari malas, thus, the kari sardin. Kalau hari rajin, mau aku buat kari daging ke, kari udang ke. Dah lama sebenarnya aku tak masak kari sardin tu. Tak sangka, dah lama tak makan, rasa sedap pulak. Licin periuk. Roti jala aku buat 2 batches.
Iffah balik from school semalam, complain sakit kepala. So, dia skipped KAFA. Aku cuma hantar Iman sorang je. Balik from hantar Iman KAFA, badan iffah panas, demam pulak anak aku sorang tu. With Shariff and Raina around, memang aku tak boleh nak pay attention pada Iffah. Kesian Iffah. By malam, demam dia dah kebah sikit, but this morning, panas lagi.
Alhamdulillah hari ni hujan, at least jerebu tak teruk sangat. I hope iffah will be well enough untuk pegi tengok cerita Harry Potter tonite. Yes, we're going to watch Harry Potter mlm ni. Aku dah beli tiket since last week. Baru 2 days ago aku pegi ambik tiket kat TGV, booking dah seminggu lebih. Nowadays, it's easier to buy online then pegi collect tiket. Tak payah la aku susah2 nak beratur panjang.

1 biji bawang besar - hiris halus
4 ulas bwg putih - hiris halus
2cm halia - hiris halus
1/2 sudu teh halba
1 tbs cili boh
3 tbs rempah kari ikan
250ml santan
1 cup air (kalau taknak pekat sgt, tambah air lagi)

Argh!! I'm tired!
Semalam I went to urut badan kat rumah K.Anum in Taman Permata. Adula.. banyak sungguh angin. Ni angin cina selatan or angin barat daya pun aku tak tau. But, yang pastinya, angin dasat, ibarat puting beliung dalam cerita Thor tu. My body is so berangin that, nak makan pun tak lalu. Dah la mandi tak basah sebab malas nak mandi.. hehehe.. Teruk betul aku ni kan?
Today I started my day early walaupun sepatutnya aku cuti dari memasak dan yang sewaktu dengannya. My friend, Alie, ordered Lemon Bars. So, pagi2 lagi aku dah bake Lemon Bars for her. Lepas siap bake the Lemon Bars, aku pegi gym untuk berlari. Benci sungguh duduk dalam gym hari ni. Dia orang tengah repaint the gym, bau cat yang kuat tu membuatkan aku sesak nafas. Lepas balik dari gym, aku pegi Bagus to buy my baking supply. I'm baking Sicilian Orange cuppies now. The cuppies are for the girls' teachers esok. Ye la, semalam tak pegi sekolah, so esok kena la antar the cuppies pada cikgu2 sempena hari guru semalam.
Mula2 kan, aku nak upload gambar a friend, yang study sama masa kat Ausmat dulu. Tapi, should I or shouldnt I? Aku takleh tahan tengok the gambar, sakit perut gelak. Kalau sesapa yang penah tengok cerita "Sivaji The Boss", haaa.. muka that guy sebijik muka hero Tamil tu. In that picture of his, he was holding rokok gulung, duduk atas kerusi malas, sambil sebelah tangan lagi pegang pistol. Pastu, pakai sunglasses, and rambut di iron, jadi keras. Err.. boleh imagine ke? Erm.. still thinking..

Buttermilk Pancakes

Buttermilk Pancakes
ingredient
1 cup (130 grams) all-purpose
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons granulated white
1 large lightly beaten
1 cup (240 ml) buttermilk (or 1 cup of milk + 1tbs vinegar, let it stand for 5-10 minutes)
2 tablespoons (40 grams) unsalted butter, melted
Plus extra melted butter for greasing the pan
Method
1. Mix the dry ingredients, make a well in the center. Pour in the wet ingredients, mix with a whisk.
2. Heat a non stick pan, lightly butter it, using a scoop, pour the batter. Once bubbles appear, turn over, cook for 1-2 minutes. Served with condensed milk/honey/maple syrup or whatever toppings u like :)

Short Break to Terengganu
I'm very sleepy. Bila balik to Terengganu with such a short notice, and such a short break, rasa buang masa je, letihkan badan. We arrived at my mok's place at 2.30am on Sunday morning. Kita orang bertolak from KL pukul 5pm on Saturday but arrived late sebab kete banyak giler on the highway. We had to sleep kat living room sebab rooms semua dah penuh. By the time pukul 7am, the kids semua dah bangun dan berlari2 ke sana kemari. Rumah kayu, bila budak2 berlari, bergegar rumah. Macam mana ler makcik ni nak tido. Sudahnya, aku migraine today. Argh! tension sungguh!
Then pukul 1pm, hubby ajak balik to his mom's house kat Kuala Terengganu. The girls nak stay rumah baba and nenek sebab both misses baba and nenek a lot! So, we left them kat rumah my parents, balik berdua je to rumah my MIL. Iman and Iffah aku kirimkan kat my brother Harun yang nak balik ke KL malam tadi. Dah janji nak jumpa Harun kat simpang nak masuk Ajil. So tadi, at about 9pm, we picked up the girls kat Ajil, which is quite a distant from Kuala Terengganu. Takpe la, kesian kat the girls, rindu sangat kat their grandparents.
Since I forgot to bring my camera along, I dont have any photos to upload, sedih betul.....
We had this for breakfast on Saturday morning
Heat oil in a small pan. Add onions and cook one minute, add tomatoes, cumin, salt and pepper and cook another few minutes. Set aside and keep warm.
In another medium non-stick pan, add a bit of oil, heat the tortillas for a few minutes on both sides until tortillas gets crispy and pockets or air bubbles start to form inside. Set aside.
In the same pan, add a bit of oil and add eggs, salt and pepper. Cover and cook until sunny-side up or to your liking.
To serve, place a tortilla on each plate, top with egg, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese and cilantro.

Huevos Rancheros
Adapated from Skinnytaste
- 1/2 tsp oil
- 1/2 onion, minced
- 1 medium tomato, minced
- 2 tbsp chopped green chiles (I didnt use any)
- oil spray
- salt and pepper
- pinch cumin (optional)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 oz shredded cheese (I omitted this)
- 2 tsp chopped cilantro (no cilantro in my kitchen, thus I didnt use any)
- 2 corn tortillas (I used garlic tortillas)

Nasi Himpit with Sambal Ikan
What do you do with leftovers sambal ikan from nasi kerabu? My mum akan tambah extra nisang, serai and goreng balik. Sedap!! That's what I did last week masa buat nasi kerabu. Malas nak masak breakfast for the girls, aku modify the sambal ikan.
Masa kecik2 dulu, mok selalu buat sendiri nasi himpit. Dia masak nasi lembik dalam periuk, then tekan dengan benda berat overnight. I miss those nasi himpit. Texture nasi himpit tu lain dari sekarang.
Nasi Himpit & Sambal Ikan. For orang pantai timur, this is how we eat our nasi himpit.
For Sambal Ikan
1 biji kelapa – goreng hingga kekuningan
6 ekor ikan sardine – rebus, buang tulang dan tumbuk lumat
Bahan blend
10 ulas bwg merah
5 batang serai
nisang
Salt & sugar
Cara2
1. 1. Kelapa yang dah digoreng, di tumbuk lumat dan digaul dengan ikan dan bahan blend.
2. 2. Kemudian, goreng balik for 5-10 minutes before dihidangkan
