Alpaca My Scarf

A fun card for the Simon Says Wednesday challenge which is to create your own background. I'm also using Chrissy Larson's clean and simple layout for the current CAS(E) This Sketch challenge

SSSWC is sponsored by Lawn Fawn, so I chose their fun little Winter Alpaca set to ink up and color with Copics.  I used Iced Aqua cardstock by Reverse Confetti for the card base and background ink.  This brings back great memories of the year I purchased this stamp set after our daughter traveled to Peru and had some funny alpaca stories!

DIES: Noted: Scalloped A2 Vertical die by PTI; Stitched Rectangle STAX by MFT; Winter Alpaca by Lawn Fawn.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/

Hello everyone and welcome to another Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge! This week the challenge is to POP IT UP.  The design team members are showcasing Lawn Fawn products in our creations.  It's not mandatory, but if you have them, we'd love to see you use them!  As always, Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a $50 voucher to shop at their fabulous store!

I chose to use Lawn Fawn's Critters From the Past stamp set with matching dies.  It was perfect for another birthday coming up this month - a 3 year old granddaughter who is a huge dinosaur fan!  My pop up element was to use Reverse Confetti's Pop Up Circle die.   You can find the tutorial on using this die on Jen Del Muro's post HERE (FYI...you'll need to scroll down pretty far to get to the directions).  I love that the card will still fit into an A2-sized envelope.

The images were colored with Copics before die cutting.   Such a fun scene to create and I'm so anxious to see Miss Quinn's face when she opens her card!

Happy 1st Birthday

It's our grandson's 1st birthday today and I had a ball creating his birthday card using Lawn Fawn's Critters From the Past stamp
set and matching dies! He and his big sister are both into dinosaurs, so this was a no brainer when it came to card ideas.  I colored with Copics after stamping with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on X-Press It Blending Card (my favorite with Copics!).  The die cut images were then popped over some rolling hills and ombre paper for the sky in the background.  I love personalizing cards, so had to include his name with MFT's Stitched Banner Alphabet Die-Namics!  The inside of the card uses SU's Number of Years stamp set and says Look who is turning 1.  Yes, I forgot to get a photo of the inside, so...insert sad face here!

I can't close without posting a couple of recent photos of the birthday boy! He's adorable and very laid back... a shy guy - tucking his head and turning away when he first meets you!  He loves to smile and has a very unique crawl that gets him everywhere!

Alpaca My Scarf!

This mini Lawn Fawn stamp set was a must have for two reasons! First, I love puns and second, my daughter visited Peru last summer and has fun stories of getting up close and personal to some llamas and alpacas.  When I saw the CAS Challenge on SCS this morning, I knew I wanted to ink up this fun alpaca and include it on a tag.  The scarf - made in India - was a purchase during a fun sale while on a cruise ship last year. Everything in the sale was $10, so I immediately headed to the scarves - knowing they would be great gifts and lightweight to pack!

On to the tag creation...I smooshed my 2 favorite distress inks (Peacock Feathers and Twisted Citron) on some TH watercolor paper.  I then dropped some water over the paper (by tapping a paint brush) after I dried the inks with my heat gun.  The droplets lightly "bleached" out a splatter effect.  The image was stamped on X-Press It Blending Card, colored with Copics, then die cut.  The white banner was cut using MFT's Stitched Fishtail Flags STAX Die-Namics.  The tag itself is one of my favorite die cuts by Reverse Confetti.

Copics:  BG32, BG15, E000, E01, E40, E42.

OILY DIY RECIPE FOR THE DAY:  Make your own ALL PURPOSE CLEANER and you'll be living much healthier without the toxic chemicals found in so many ready made products!
   You will need:
Large glass spray bottle
1-2 Tablespoons liquid castille soap
Filtered water
15-20 drops essential oils (try 10 drops lemon and 7 drops thieves)
Place soap and oils into your spray bottle and swirl to mix.  Slowly add water to the top of the bottle and give it a shake!  Use to spray counters, sinks, bathrooms, etc.  Other oil options would be thieves and orange, purification, citrus fresh or eucalyptus.
