Just Us Girls

Couldn't resist playing along with the Just Us Girls challenge where it's mood board week. I was drawn to the vivid happy colors and created this "hello" card.  I started with the plaid background using a Watercolor Plaid stencil collection from Papertrey Ink.  Stamps and dies are from The Greetery and are some of my favorites! I realized I "needed" the sentiment dies to be able to pop it up so I ordered that option for the next time.

STAMPS: Arched Sentiments, Floral Arches (The Greetery).
INK: Orange Zest, Canyon Clay, Terracotta Tile, Ocean Tides, Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Summer Sunrise, Bright Buttercup, Honey Nut (Papertrey Ink); Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Stamper's Select White (PTI); Turquoise (?).
DIES: Floral Arches (The Greetery); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Floral Arches stencils (The Greetery); Watercolor Plaid stencils (Papertrey Ink).

That's a wrap for today! More cold wind but the sun is out and I'm anxiously waiting for the temperature to get above freezing.  ~Wanda

I have not ventured anywhere outdoors all week long and I'm starting  to get "cabin fever"! Thankfully, stamping is a perfect hobby for this chilly time of year!  ~Wanda

Warm Winter Wishes

This was a timely card to create after a huge winter storm warning starting last evening! We didn't get near as much ice and snow as predicted which is fine with me! I'm playing along with three challenges:

1. Just Us Girls #756 - Anything Goes/Die Week

3. Inspired By #317...Tea Time

I used the newly released Build-A-Snowflake die set from Papertrey Ink and tweaked the sketch a bit to add the sentiment at the bottom.
I was very much inspired by the cable knit mittens rather than the tea theme in the Inspired By photo, so I stenciled the background using the Simple Stitch Crochet Small stencil set by PTI.
STAMPS: Trees 'N Patterns (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Slumber, Blue Jay, Saphire (Pinkfresh Studio).
PAPER: Stampers Select White, Vellum (PTI); Silver glitter.
DIES: Build-A-Snowflake (PTI); Stitched Banner Flags and Stitched Rectangles STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things); Nested Circles (Art Impressions).
OTHER: Jewel brad.
That's a wrap for today! Now to get some details done with transferring things to a new car I bought last week! After driving a white Honda CRV for 11 years, I decided to go with a 2025 RED CRV ExL!  We have long been Honda fans so if it ain't broke, don't fix it - haha! Thanks for stopping by and commenting!  ~Wanda

Poinsettia in Pink

Happy Saturday friends! Getting this post up before the huge game at noon between Ohio State and Indiana! I was born and raised in Ohio so I'm always a Buckeye fan - lol! I brought out an old stamp/die set from Altenew and am using the current sketch at Try A Sketch On Tuesday.

I was also inspired by the mood   board for Just Us Girls challenge: pink and brown, snowflakes, greenery, etc.

I white embossed all the images then watercolored and die cut from Ranger's water color paper.  The background panel was a stenciled piece I had in my leftover pile.

STAMPS: Poinsettia & Pine, Holiday Wishes (Altenew).
INK: Lovely Lady (PTI); Frayed Burlap, Gathered Twigs, Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber, Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo, Mowed Lawn, Pine Needles, Evergreen Bough distress inks by Ranger; Versafine Clair Nocturne.
PAPER: Stampers Select White (Papertrey Ink); Water Color (Ranger).
DIES: Poinsettia & Pine (Altenew); Love to Layer: Squares (PTI); Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-Namics (My Favorite Things).
OTHER: Washi tape; Moonshine sequins, Snowflake stencil (PTI); Alabaster embossing powder (Brutus Monroe).

Thanks so much for stopping by! Game is on!  ~Wanda

Just Us Girls

I was on a roll playing with the new build an angel dies from the last release at Papertrey Ink! This one uses the colors - gold, white, blue - for the current Just Us Girls challenge.

I had the silver foiled snowflake base layer in my leftover pile which made this a fairly quick and easy card to complete.

The sentiment was white embossed onto navy paper. Here's what else I used:

STAMPS: Angelic Sentiments (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Versamark.
PAPER: Navy blue (? source  - in my scrap pile), Stampers Select White (PTI); Metallic gold & silver.
DIES: Build-an-Angel, Love to Layer: Scalloped Circles (Papertrey Ink).
OTHER: Fanciful Snowflake Background hot foil plate (PTI); Silver foil; Brutus Monroe Alabaster embossing powder.

That's a wrap for today. Thanks for stopping by!  ~Wanda

Celebrate!

Another birthday card added to my stash! I'm playing along with the Seize the Birthday challenge to use the word "celebrate" and with Just Us Girls where anything goes with stencil week.  I had never used the freebie stamp/stencil/die gift that came with an order from The Greetery when they celebrated their 4th anniversary.

This is a one layer card with the sentiment stamped with Versafine Claire Nocturne pigment ink and clear embossed on vellum.  I first die cut the row of candles then used the candle stencils with dye inks from Pinkfresh Studio (Ballet Slipper, Bubble Gum, Mint, Meadow, Lemon Whip, Sweet Mustard, Marigold).

STAMPS: Make A Wish, Freebie "Celebrate" (The Greetery).
PAPER: Stamper's Select White (Papertrey Ink); Vellum.
DIES: All Aglow (The Greetery).
OTHER: All Aglow stencils (The Greetery).

We are still on flood watch here in VA with many closed roads in our county. And...today it's still raining though we don't have the high winds anymore. We lost a huge old oak tree that fell beside our garage. We are so blessed that the good Lord had it fall where it didn't fall on our building or on the neighbor's house. PTL he had it fall in a perfect spot!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting! Have a great day!  ~Wanda

Just Us Girls Challenge

Hope you are having a relaxing Sunday! We had take out pizza for lunch today so no dishes to wash...yay! No big plans for our Labor Day weekend so maybe more time to get inky. I checked out some fave challenge sites and found Just Us Girls are having CASE a DT week. As soon as I

saw Carol McFarland's adorable postage collage card -->, I knew I wanted to try my hand at that style. I loved her pale blue background and just varied the other colors to shades of coral and green.  I also opted to try using a large image for the focal point instead of multiple small images.

STAMPS: Lush Bloom (Papertrey Ink); Postage Collage (Waffle Flower).
INK: Sweet Blush, Pale Peony, Berry Sorbet, Spring Rain, New Leaf Ripe Avocado, True Black (Papertrey Ink).
PAPER: Sweet Blush, Stamper's Select White (PTI).
DIES: Postage Collage (Waffle Flower).
OTHER: Postage Collage Blocks stencil (Waffle Flower).

That's it for now. Thanks so much for stopping by!  ~Wanda

Anniversary Greeting

I had this background panel leftover from a previous project and thought it would work to include the sketch by Narelle for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge plus it fits for the Just Us Girls challenge where it's word week ("frame"). I'm loving the new large sentiment series by Papertrey Ink! The first set was released in July and centers around the word "celebrate".

I used the Tim Holtz "Bouquet" layering stencil with three different inks. The frame die is one that was never opened and was a "freebie" from My Favorite Things with a $60 order. It worked well for a mini slimline card.

STAMPS: This is Big Sentiments: Celebrate (Papertrey Ink).
INK: Sunkissed, Sky Blue, Rocky Slope (Pinkfresh Studio); Versafine Clair Nocturne pigment black.
PAPER: Stamper's Select White, Spring Rain, True Black (Papertrey Ink).
DIES: Freew60 (MFT); This is Big Sentiments: Celebrate (PTI).

 Thanks for stopping by!  ~Wanda
