Baked with Love!

Good morning!  I have my last post as a member of the Frosted Designs team up on the blog today. I have certainly enjoyed my time there but as they say all good things must come to an end! Here is the layout I made using the ever so versatile Simple Stories line Homespun!   This line is so versatile, you can use it for about any type of occasion!  From Spring to Summer to just every day moments!  It also has a baking or cooking theme to it, perfect for these photos:

I have been trying to use up a lot of the 3 x 4 and 4 x 6 cards that many collections come with and sometimes it is hard to know exactly what to do with them.  I have found that they are great go to embellishments, they are simple, inexpensive and they can really dress up your pages!  Here I embellished the "made with love" card by adding the "family recipes" sticker over the top of the apron.  I added pop dots under the sticker to give the card some dimension and used the card as a pocket for a family recipe.  Here is a close up:

These pictures of my friend's daughter with her late grandmother will be a treasured keepsake for her album for years to come!  How wonderful to have this family recipe preserved! The only thing that would have made it better would have been had the late grandmother written the recipe down in her own handwriting. Just something to keep in mind next time you pass along a recipe, remember generations to come will cherish your hand writing no matter how "plain" or not attractive you think it is!  I also as you can see here used a pre-made border that came in the collection, so to dress it up and give it a bit of dimension I added gems and pearls to the center of the flowers!  Using embellishments you have in your stash to dress up the pre-made borders or cards is a great way to not only use up your stash but add dimension to your layouts quickly and easily!   Make sure and  hop on over to the Frosted Designs store and check out all the fun goodies, including the new Heidi Swapp line Hello Today arriving soon!  Happy crafting!

Enabler alert!

The new Frosted Designs kit  Capture the Moment is here!  It is packed full of scrappy goodness!
The unique thing about the Frosted Designs kit is that they have a "messy" option and a "clean" option for the SAME price!  There is even an option to get both if you can't decide!  If you are just a basic clean scrapper as I am you would most likely pick the "clean" option but if you like to "mess" around with inks, mists, masking and other mixed media products then the "messy" option is for you!  Check it out HERE and make sure and tell Barb Lisa sent you!

Frosted Designs Springtime Challenge!!!

TGIF everyone!  It seems as if Spring has finally sprung in most places (FINALLY!) and today I have a challenge up on the Frosted Designs blog!!!  My Springtime challenge, is perfect for getting a jump start on last weekends Easter photos or any other crafty project and is guaranteed to put you in a Springtime mood! Think bright colors, blooming plants, warm weather, Springtime showers, baby animals... ..and maybe even a little Spring cleaning!  Goodness knows my crafty area can always stand a destash and cleaning!!!! My challenge is for you to incorporate at least three of the following words in some way shape or form into your project:

For example:  You could use the word Spring in your title, add some flowers to your project and use a green patterned paper on your project.  You can use the form of a word as well i.e. instead of eggs you can use egg or instead of plant you can use plants or planted.  You may use more then 3 of the words if you wish  but make sure and tell us what 3 (or more) words you used on your Spring project!!!!

Here is my example:
Supplies Used:  Simple Stories Homespun Collection kit;  Simple Stories Summer Fresh (fussy
cut title block upper left corner), Maya Road chipboard scallop circles, New Beginnings bakers
twine, Queen & Co candy dots, Bazzill die cut border

I loved these pictures I captured of the kids during our annual Easter Egg hunt in Granny and Papa's backyard last year!  I got some great ones this year as well, so look for those in some upcoming layouts!  For the design of this layout I used one of my old sketches from last October from Sketch N Scrap (notice I modified it to fit more photos as I just couldn't leave out any of these photos!!!)  Make sure and check out what the other DT members did with this challenge HERE and if you are so inclined make sure and play along with us for an AWESOME prize from our sponsor Xyron!!!  If you are in love with this collection like I was you can get it HERE and everything in the store is 25% off but hurry, sale ends TODAY!!!!

Best Friends

Good morning!  I hope everyone is enjoying a beautiful weekend where you are at!  It is my turn today as blog hostess at Frosted Designs! Today I am sharing a fun layout I created in which I made my own DIY  Project Life cards!
Here is the layout I created:

Here I am using my homemade "cards" on a traditional layout but you could always use them in the pocket style protectors as well.  For the top card I added a small doily and topped it off with one of the Elle's Studio Cameron Tidbits layered on a small banner.  Underneath I added my journaling, I couldn't find a paper with a small not so busy print, so I cut up the packaging for the Elle's Studio Everyday Moments Bits & Pieces and made little journaling banners.
I think rounding the corners of my home made cards add a special touch and more feminine feel.  For the other three cards I just added my wallet sized photos, but if you had less photos you could add extra embellishments instead.  I can't get enough of the Elle's Studio wood veneers!  Here is a quick tip for those die cut words: just use your glue dots or wet glue and adhere a small bit of your favorite patterned paper under the wood piece to make it really stand out against a plain background and make the words easier to be seen.

I have found the Elle's Studio embellishments are a great addition to your DIY Project Life Cards, make sure and pick some up in the store today!

His No.1 Fan!

Good morning!  I hope everyone is enjoying our fun filled Favorite Things blog hop!  Today I wanted to  share with you some more scrappy inspiration using the Elle's Studio Love You More collection pack:
I loved this picture I snapped on my cell phone of my son and my niece while at Fuddruckers celebrating her 6th birthday, but I was having a hard time coming up with a fun title for my layout.  I was looking at all the little cut out blocks on one of the papers when I saw the "No.1" and then the title came to me....No. #1 Fan!!!  Because this little gal is for sure my son's No. 1 fan! I decided to "fancy" up the title a bit by using a chevron envelope I received a gift card in on my birthday:
I mounted the No.1 cut out on a piece of pink paper included in the collection and then used another cut out for my "tag" to come out of the envelope, I included journaling inside the envelope by adding a piece of white cardstock under the "I think you are perfect" cut out and journaling my thoughts on it. I used a Studio Calico wood veneer heart to act as a sort of pull tab for my hidden journaling.  This collection is so versatile and the two cut out sheets are perfect embellishments to dress up your layouts in a fun yet inexpensive way!  If you are like me and can't cut a perfectly straight, here is a little tip...ink the edges of all your cut outs and the ink blurs any imperfections in your cutting technique!  Enjoy your weekend and have fun on the Frosted Designs Favorite Things Blog Hop!  Did you know that ALL Elle's Studio is on sale at the Frosted Designs store from now until Monday????  What a deal, you will not regret buying any of the Elle's Studio collection packs!  To get your 30% discount, just enter code PL30 at checkout!  To visit the store go HERE!

Frosted Designs Favorite Things Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends and welcome to the Frosted Designs "Favorite Things" Blog Hop!!! As most of you know, March is National Craft Month!!!  What better way to celebrate our favorite time of year than with a "favorite things" blog hop?!?  We are so excited about all the fabulous items in store that we wanted to share with you how we use them on our projects!  Our Design Team has put together some AMAZING projects just for your viewing pleasure :-)

If you've arrived here from Joni's blog, then you're in the right place!  If not, please start the hop at the Frosted Designs Blog here!
As you hop along, be sure to visit each Design Team Member's blog for wonderful inspiration and creative ideas on how we use our favorite products!!! While you're there, be sure to leave them some love!!!  Each member will have a "scrambled" word in their post... (*HINT* The word will be a Frosted Designs Product!!!).   Unscramble each one from the line-up below and send them to Brandimatos@gmail.com!   After you've completed your "hopping", come back to the Frosted Designs blog and tell us how much fun you had!!
I had a hard time deciding on what my "favorite thing" was from the Frosted Designs store, after all there are SOOO many awesome goodies to choose from!  But finally I settled on washi tape!!  I have TONS of washi tape and had not been really using it but more like accumulating  hoarding it!  So I decided to put my wonderful Trendy Tapes from the Frosted Designs store to good use!  Here are a few things I came up with:
Use your washi tape to decorate your embellishment storage!  I keep all my buttons and bling by color in these handy containers but I have to pull them out to see what color is what, not anymore! Now I can tell what color is in each container based on the color of washi tape around the container!

Use washi tape to decorate containers for small gifts!  Here is an extra embellishment container filled with swap items for a special friend!  To make the heart on the top of the container I placed strips of washi tape side by side on cardstock then punched it out with my heart punch.

Here is a plain jane metal container that I decorated for another scrappy friend! Inside a bunch of handmade envelopes, flowers and a gift card to her favorite scrapbook store!  And she can use the container later for storing her embellishments.

Use washi tape on your cards in place of paper!

Now, what would a blog hop be without some AWESOME prizes?!?  By sending in your "unscrambled FD products to Brandimatos@gmail.com, you will be entered into a drawing for the following prizes:

Joni's Punctuation challenge!

Have you seen the newest challenge up at Frosted Designs?  Your host for this challenge is Joni and she has challenged us to use punctuation somewhere on our project!  I know I have a TON of &'s just lying around and not being put to good use....so when I saw this challenge I immediately thought of my newest &amp, a wood veneer one by Elle's Studio and I knew it was perfect for this challenge!  Here is my layout for this challenge:
Supplies Used:  Elle's Studio Everyday Moments Paper collection Pack, Elle's Studio Love You More Paper collection pack; Background paper by MME's Cut & Paste line;  Wood veneers by Elle's Studio Everyday Moments collection and Dear Lizzy Polka Dot Party collection; Elle's Studio Love You More cutouts; doilies by Martha Stewart; flower by Maya Road; Letter Stickers by Jillibean Soup.

For this fun layout using pictures of my SIL and youngest nephew when he was just a baby (he's four now!) I used Sketch 259 by Kristine Davidson of Creative Scrappers.  It was a fun sketch and one a bit out of my comfort zone but I had fun with layering all the embellishments and the Love You More line by Elle's Studio is perfect for this!  As added incentive ALL Elle's Studio in the Frosted Designs store is on sale through March 3rd at 30% off!!!!!!!!!  Also included are Studio Calico, the new 7 Dots AND Simple Stories!!!!  You better RUN to stock up ladies, this is a GREAT deal!  Don't forget to go check out what the other DT members did with this challenge, lots of great inspiration to be found HERE!  Hope your weekend is filled with scrappy goodness and sunshine!

Elle's Studio goodness!

Happy weekend everyone!  It's my turn to host the blog over at Frosted Designs today. I thought I'd share a layout I made using some of my Elle's Studio goodies from the store!  I was going through a pile of old single photos that I hadn't yet scrapped as I find it extremely tough to scrapbook one photo.  When I stumbled upon this photo of my nephew at 3 years old I just knew I had to scrap it!  Here is my layout using a mix of Elle's Studio goodies available in the store:

Supplies Used: Patterned Paper:  Elle's Studio Cameron and Everyday Moments collection; wood:
Elle's Studio wood Everyday Moments collection; Embellishments: Elle's Studio Everyday Moments
Bits N Pieces and Cameron Snippets; chipboard: (glasses) unknown; punches: Stampin Up stars
and Border Punch Fiskars Upper Crest; Letters:  American Craft Thickers

Are you like me and find it hard to scrap single photo layouts? I find it extremely helpful when doing one photo layouts to add large embellishment clusters as a place filler to your layout (kind of like an extra photo).  The Elle's Studio Bits and Pieces, wood veneers and Snippets are perfect for this:

Don't have the "perfect" matching embellishment?  Use your punches, they are a great way to "make your own" embellishment from your patterned paper:

Don't you just love the beautiful colors found in these Elle's Studio lines?  I know you will find them as versatile as I have!  Check the great selection out at the Frosted Designs store.  Here are the products I used:

Frosted Designs Challenge!

Today I am sharing my first layout as a Frosted Designs' Design Team member! I am so excited to share my layout with and hope you will enjoy being inspired by all the other wonderful creations the design team came up with!  Frosted Designs is thrilled to be partnering with Stuck?!Sketches on this challenge! Barb thought it would be fun to combine the sketch at Stuck?!Sketches with a challenge from us so, we would like to see you use this sketch along with Ink, Paint or Mists. How fun is that?! You are welcome to use this sketch to create cards, canvas projects, off the page projects,  journal pages and layouts! Pretty much anything you create using this sketch can be linked up! Just remember to use paint, ink or mist!!
Here is the sketch:

And here is my take on it:
Products used from the Frosted Designs store:
American Crafts- Textured Cardstock White

For my ink I used a stamp pad to ink around the edges of my banner, tags and die cuts (I love this technique it really makes things pop!) and then I embossed my top tag with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and used my pink ink on a make up sponge to darken the tag and highlight the embossed numbers! Make sure an visit the Frosted Designs blog to see what other ladies came up with, I know you will be inspired!  And don't forget to visit the Frosted Designs store, you will LOVE LOVE LOVE the February kit:
So stop by and order yours today! I hope you have a scrappy first weekend of the New Year! Enjoy!
