This was another SUPER busy month as I had to get my son moved back to his dorm but I still was able to achieve all my goals this month!  My first month I have achieved them all!! YAY! Feels good to make a dent in my stash! My bashket needed replenishing as I have really been making a dent in all the stuff in it and also in a small box I have thrown stuff into that I don't know where to put it as it doesn't fit any of my categories I have organized my stuff into!  I replenish my basket items from this small box. I hope to be able to show you an empty box/basket soon!!  Here is a look at 2 of the 4 lists I made for the Lister's Gotta List challenges at Camp Reset last month:

Time to set new goals for the new month!
Here are my September monthly goals:
1) Use 8 pattern papers from my 100 paper pile
2) Use 10 Bashket items
3) Complete 2 tips ins for my bible
4) Participate in 3 online challenges
5) Design a card class and host it at my house & online
6) Refresh my 100 paper pile and add in some Fall papers.

8) Get a Bingo on my Crafty Club Bingo card! (challenge here)
Here is a recap of my 100 paper challenge year so far:
 Tally so far is:
January: Embellishments = 10  Papers = 5
February: Embellishments 5 Papers = 6
March: Embellishments = 7  Papers = 4
April: Embellishments = 6 Papers 4
May: Embellishments = 10 Papers = 5
June: Embellishments = 10 Papers = 7
July: Embellishments = 10  Papers = 7
August: Embellishments = 10  Papers = 7
To learn more about my 100 paper challenge you can visit this blog post.  Have you been focusing on stash bashing this year?  If so, leave me a comment so we can commiserate!  I did allow myself 2 crafty purchases in the past week, one for meeting my goals for July and one for meeting my goals for August!  Otherwise I have enjoyed shopping my stash.  I am happy to report one of my purchases was an Elle's Studio kit, so no paper. Not so with my second purchase which was 3 paper packs from Close to My Heart. However, you will be glad to know these 3 packs have less sheets of paper then the amount (45 pieces of paper) that I have bashed so far this year!! So I feel good about it all in all (although while I WANT new papers I surely do not NEED them!)⇢⇢😅  I am not sure what I will end up with this next month if I meet my goals but I have a feeling it may be more paper!! Happy stash bashing friends!

I also want a few Pink Fresh embellishments!  If I hit my goal this month I am thinking of purchasing one of these things! I had almost talked myself into the Pink Fresh warehouse sale box (and cheating on my no buy rule) but when I went to order it, it was sold out!! Folks, that was divine intervention 😇!  Now I feel glad I didn't cheat! I will check in at the end of June for another update!  Wish me well!  Happy stash bashing friends!

April 100 Patterned Paper Update!

Wow!  I am so amazed we are almost to another month!  I am still struggling to keep myself accountable  this year on limiting my spending on crafty purchases and on using up my stash!  To learn more about my 100 patterned paper challenge you can read THIS POST.  I have missed my March update and am just eeking it out for my April update! So excited to say that I can tell a difference each month, I didn't buy any new papers in April, which is a big improvement!  I did fairly well on using up some embellishments but not on using up papers and am still behind on my goals!  Here is a picture of my BASHKET- my basket filled with older embellishments to bash for the upcoming month!
I decided to remind myself with before and afters each month, I am updating this basket each month so I don't get burnt out on all the stuff in it!  This was reset today for May!  My goal is to use up 10 items from this basket in May!
For April I was able to use up a measly 4 papers from my 100 paper stash...most of the papers I used were from my scrap bag...in fact I made a HUGE dent in my scrap bag this month, so much so that it is pretty empty!!!  My plan is to count a paper as used if the scraps left will fit in my bag, if they won't I can't count it as used...so I have about 4 papers that were still over 8 inches long so they didn't fit in my scraps bag, but they are on my desk ready to be used up, hopefully in May!
My goal for May it to use up 10 pieces of patterned paper!!
So there it is my update for April...Tally so far is:
January: Embellishments = 10  Papers = 5
February: Embellishments = 5 Papers = 6
March: Embellishments = 7  Papers = 4
April: Embellishments = 6 Papers = 4
Paper total = 19 which is about 14 papers behind schedule!  YIKES!  Gotta really get a move on!
I'm almost scared to set a reward goal but yet I sure do like scrappy shopping and feel kind of proud to have not bought a thing in April!  I was SO TEMPTED, I filled up my online carts with TONS of stuff but never clicked purchase 😀
My May reward if I hit my goal will be: My choice of a paper collection!  There are so many I want it may take me a while to decide on which one!  Any suggestions of collections you have recently purchased and loved or are drooling over?
Wish me luck!  🤞

100 Patterned Paper challenge update

Today's the day to share an update on how my 100 paper challenge is progressing!  Well, let's say not the progress I was hoping for but I am still hanging in there! I started on January 1st and usually when I start something I start strong and then start to lose momentum...this time I'm the opposite, my February was better then my January but yet still not so great- maybe this is a good sign I will finish strong!!! 🤞 If you are joining me mid challenge you can see my first post HERE. I started out with 100 papers.  In January I used up FIVE pieces.  In February I used up 6 papers and ONE collection kit!! Yay!  So while better then January not where I wanted to be, my goal was 8 papers....so I did not meet my goal and don't get my cute traveler's notebook I was wanting...but that will give me even more reason to work harder this month! Today I changed out my papers from "love" and "Winter" themed papers to "Spring" papers.  That was sure fun!  I did leave several collections in the stack as they were very versatile and I know I can use them all year round!  So the new collections I added were: Echo Park Sweet Day, Pebbles Seen & Noted, Echo Park Spring, Pebbles Girl Squad, Echo Park Sunny Days Ahead, Simple Stories Posh, and Fancy Pants Happy Place.  These are all fun lines so I am excited to dig into them!
In January I used 10 things from my bashket of old stash and for February my goal was 11 items but I only used 5 items...so not as good as January😕  I have restocked my bashket as of today and included some goodies that go well with my papers so I should be able to use up some of these things this month...this month I have included 11 items to use in my bashket, they are: 1) coffee die cut 2) large kraft speech bubble die cut 3) PL quote card 4) PL hello lovely card 5) Dreamer tag 6) Sunny Thought stamp set 7) Mason jar/flower sticker 8) quote tag- Spring 9) Dinosaur tag 10) Sweetest thing words stickers and 11) Jillibean Soup journaling spots (2).  One thing I am doing better at so far is keeping track of what I am using up, which is helping me stay on track and keeping me from spending more and buying more! I sure don't need a darn thing...but I sure want a lot of things! 😳
Now for next month: GOALS FOR MARCH:
1) Use 10 papers from my 100 paper stack
2) Use 8 items in my bashket
REWARD: Simple Stories I Am collection kit!!!  Love this line!
Have you been doing this challenge? If so share here and let me know how you are doing, I'd love to get some encouragement and motivation from my scrappy friends!!

100 Paper challenge!!

This is a post I intended to do the first of the year, but as often is the case even the best laid plans will get way laid at times when life gets in the way!! Such was the case here!  I had planned to do a monthly update and start the challenge on January 1st but here I am just now posting about my fun challenge!  But better late then never!  I originally learned about this challenge 2 years ago from my crafty friend Lori but while I did take part in this challenge in 2016 I didn't do a very good job of keeping track of my papers so I am not exactly sure how many papers I ended up using (my last count was 39 but I know I did use more then that) but nonetheless this challenge was really an epic fail between me not keeping track and not being intentional about using my papers!  This year I am kicking it up a notch and starting the challenge anew!!!  One thing I realized was I didn't have the right tools or organizational structure to really track my progress or keep my papers at my fingertips!  The other issue was I got tired of the same 100 papers (lol) and since I am for the most part a seasonal scrapper (I scrap Summer pages in Summer and Christmas layouts at Christmas time) I decided to allow myself to change up my papers as the seasons change.  Hey, it's my challenge so I can make up the rules I want!!!  So with all this said here is what I have come up with:  I have purchased a Totally Tiffany cart to hold my 100 papers for this challenge:
I have picked the following collections to start my challenge with: Simple Stories Winter Wonderland. American Crafts Sweater Weather, Echo Park Winter Park, Echo Park Wintertime, Fancy Pants Frosted, Simple Stories Love & Adore, Echo Park Head Over Heels, Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine, Jillibean Soup Healthy Hello, Carta Bella It's a Celebration, Simple Stories Happy Days, CTMH Whimsy, CTMH Fundamentals Basics, & Crate Paper Wedding Line (not sure of name).  This is a grand total of 138 papers!!  As you can see many of these are Winter or Love themed for January and February, starting in March I will revamp my paper choices and remove those Winter/Love lines I didn't use and add some Spring papers to take their place.  Almost all of the papers I added are more then 3 years old, but some are more current and ones I want to use up due to storage issues (not enough room in that manufacturers Iris container any more lol!).   I have started a Carpe Diem planner this year and I have made this insert to keep track of the papers as I use them:
My goal is to use 100 papers in ONE YEAR, so that is about 8-9 papers a month!  Of course some months I will use more then others so the plan is it evens out!
Now for embellishments- I have a lot of older embellishments to use up as well (don't we all?) and I have organized them in the bins/drawers on the opposite side of my cart:

Here is the close up of the cart bin I am using for my Winter/Love season:
I have all the basics like cork hearts and washi tape to fit my themes PLUS I have sorted embellishments that go with the various lines into the bins so I can easily locate them as I work.  I have also selected a few stamp sets I want to use either more or for the first time and that fit my themes/paper lines.  I hope to "bash" 15 items out of this bin each month!  Here is my insert for my planner to help me track this goal:
So far I was able to use up about 5 papers in January which was not a very good start! I did end up bashing 10 items from my cart in January which was a better start but still I didn't hit my goal!  So it's a new month and I am hopeful to come closer to my goal each month!!  You can see my original post about starting this challenge in 2016 HERE!  Now all goals are easier to achieve if you allow yourself a reward for working hard to achieve that goal! So each month I will be posting about my progress and picking a reward for meeting mini goals along the way to help me be successful in achieving my MAIN OVERALL GOAL: To use up 100 patterned papers!!!!  So I will start now February 10th and do my first update on February 28th then starting with an update on the last day of each month to track my progress for the month.  My goal for this month is to use 8 papers and 11 embellishments in my bin!!!! Which is an increase from January.  My reward for this month will be: A Simple Stories traveler's notebook cover from their new releases. You can see the new releases HERE...now to just decide which one I want, they are all so cute!  So who is going to join me in this fun challenge?  Comment below if you would like to join me and we can keep each accountable and motivate each other! Happy crafting!

Flashback Friday!

We are celebrating World Card Making Day ALL MONTH long at Sketch N Scrap!  Here is this week's Flashback Friday sketch by me:

I loved this sketch so much I made 2 different versions of cards using it.
Version #1:

Version #2:

Supplies Used: Cardstock: Stampin' Up Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie & Gable Green; Patterned Paper: Pebbles Inc., Sticker: Pebbles, Inc.; Stamps: Stampin' Up; Ink: Stampin' Up Basic Black

These papers and stickers are part of my 100 patterned papers challenge! I am SLOWLY using up the papers in my stack!  I have always loved these papers but just never had the right project/layout for them, so I designed a sketch to help me use them up!  I only have scraps left now!  I just love these bright cheery colors and the use of the quote with a sentiment is such a nice look!  We still have one more sketch in honor of our World Card Making Day celebration all month long, so check back for the final sketch next Friday.  This month seems to have flown by, I have thoroughly enjoyed making so many cards and now my stash is a lot bigger so no more last minute card making for me for awhile. All my friends/family will hopefully get their birthday cards on time!   Make sure and check out all the wonderful inspiration on the Sketch N Scrap blog by our wonderful DT and our guest designer, we hope you will join us and play along with one or more of our sketches this month!  Happy creating,!

Sketch N Scrap Card #84

I am having such a great time making cards this month!!!  We have a really fun sketch for you today as our last sketch of the month (gosh, where did you go October?!) at Sketch N Scrap.  This amazing sketch is by Heather:
And here is my take on the sketch:

Supplies Used:  Cardstock: Stampin' Up Very Vanilla & Rose Red; Patterned Paper: American Crafts;
Sticker: Amy Tangerine American Crafts; Ink: Stampin' Up Soft Suede; Stamps: Stampin' Up Gorgeous Grunge

I love how this card turned out! I had already made all the Halloween cards I needed for this year so decided to just do an everyday "how ya doing" type card.  Sometimes it's fun to surprise a friend with a just because type of note/letter!  I have had this sticker for years just sitting around and same with the papers so it was nice to use them up!  I was a bit unsure if I like the stamping or not but decided it's suppose to look random and grungy (which isn't my usual style) and I just glued it down and went with it!  Sometimes I think I am to picky and judgmental about how things turn out...so I just decided it might grow on me a bit after soaking in the grungy look and come to find out it did and now I really like it lol!  So don't be to shocked to see more of this style card in the future!  Make sure and head over to the Sketch N Scrap blog to check out all the inspiration from the design team this go round, there is PLENTY!  I will be back tomorrow with our Flashback Friday sketch as we celebrate World Card Making Day all month long this month, so tune back in for even more card fun tomorrow!  You still have until October 31st to play along with us at Sketch N Scrap, so make sure and join in the fun!  I can't wait to see what you create!

Card sketch #81

Happy labor Day!  I hope your September is off to a great start!  I know many of you may have a long weekend which hopefully equates to more scrappy time!  I'm working today but I still managed to squeeze in some scrappy time this weekend!  We have our first card sketch of the month up at Sketch N Scrap today!  Here it is:

And here is my take on the sketch:
Supplies Used: Cardstock: Stampin' Up; Patterned Paper: Echo Park; Sticker: (bird) Echo Park; Ink: Stampin' Up Soft Sky; Stamps: Stampin' Up- Gorgeous Grunge for ink splatters; sentiment: Stampin' Up- rub on
I love the way this card turned out!  I needed a quick thank you card for a friend and I know she will love it, as she likes birds!  I am slowly working my way through my 100 paper challenge papers!  To learn more about this fun challenge I am doing after being inspired by my scrappy pal Lori go HERE.  Another 3 papers down!  I have to say these papers were not full ones, but were over 1/2 and so I was able to use most of them up by making 3 of the same card!  I didn't have a 3 bird stickers though so I used a punch for the other two (owl punch by Stampin' Up) but I realized I hadn't taken a picture of them prior to mailing them .....so I may have enough scraps to recreate one more card using the owl punch to show you soon!  I hope you will find time to play along with us at Sketch N Scrap this month, this card sketch is very versatile, you can substitute any shape for the circles or even use doilies, I think that would be cute!  Make sure and hop on over to the Sketch N Scrap blog to see all the fun examples by our DT.  Happy crafting!

100 paper challenge!

Hi my name is Lisa and I am addicted to patterned paper!  I have been a bit afraid to admit to this even though I have known it for awhile now, but then my friend Lori posted about it on her blog and I decided to go "public" with my addiction lol! So here I am publicly sharing some of my stash and joining in Lori's 100 paper challenge!!!   Here is my stack of 100 papers....I think I should have photographed it with a ruler, it's about 4 inches thick!!!!

Here they are more spread out:

Many of these papers were in kits that were basically over half gone many with 1/2 sheets etc.  Those sheets I put in a big bag of scraps, keeping most of the scraps that I deemed large enough to use and the rest were tossed.  That eliminated almost an entire drawer of old kits that had sat there for over 3+ years waiting to be used! And you know what more space means....ROOM FOR MORE PAPER!!!  Even though these papers are older they are still ones I really like, they just don't have others from the same line to match them so I plan to make matches from my stash or those pictured here...I grouped them by color family to make that easier.  The manufacturers include: Jillibean Soup, Bella Blvd, Simple Stories, Fancy Pants, Basic Grey, Echo Park, Paper Trunk, Pink Paislee and Crate Paper.
Most I would say are over 4 years old! I hope you will feel inspired to join in the fun.  Lori found this challenge idea on a Facebook group she belongs to but I just am doing it for myself but would love company!  My goal is to use up all of these papers by January 31st 2017 and those not used up will be given away here on the blog!  So at least follow me so that in February you might end up having chance at some free paper (but I think many of you are thinking you don't need more right?) So feel free to comment below and let me know if you are joining in and leave me a link to your blog and I will follow you to keep up with your progress and encourage you along the way....make sure and do the same with me even if you don't join in...I need all the help I can get!  Then come February if successful I will reward myself with a few new paper lines I have saved in my journal to give me that extra bit of motivation I need to keep using up my stash! Happy creating friends!!!!
