Trick or Treat Card

Hi!  Hope your day is going well!  I'm hanging out at home today with a sick little girl- no fun!  Luckily I'm feeling fine.  :)  I craft in our family so we are having some movie crafty time- she's already feeling better, too!

Since I had time, I thought it would be fun to play along with a couple of linky parties today!  I created this Halloween card using some of my never-seen-ink-stamps and some goodies from SRM:

The stamps are from the Trick or Treat mini set by Lawn Fawn.  I stamped the candy corn onto watercolor paper and painted them using my ink pads.  I let them dry and cut them out.  I splattered the kraft card base with orange ink and then stamped the bat with Staz On.  I watercolored him using gray ink.

I added the black sticker stitch next and then the sentiment sticker on a strip of orange cardstock.  After they were adhered to the card, I added the pretty purple twine, finishing it in a bow.  I added the candy corn next, using foam adhesive to pop them up.  Lastly, I added a folded doily underneath the sentiment strip and a few silver sequins to accent it all.

Did you know SRM is hosting linky party over at the Paper Issue blog?  There are plenty of options to play along so pop over and check it out!  If you happen to use your SRM products, you may as well link up to the current SRM Challenge as well!

I'm also going to link it up to the current Lawnscaping Challenge:

Is it bad that I'm happy about having a lazy sick day today?  It was nice- especially after the busy weekend- but I do hope my poor girl is better tomorrow...

Thanks for popping by today!

A Spooky Watercolored Kitty Card

Good morning!  Hope your day is off to a great start!  I can't believe it's already Thursday- not that I'm complaining!  I'm looking forward to this weekend! :)

Today I have a Newton's Nook Designs card to share featuring the adorable Newton's Perfect Pumpkin set:

I decided to have a little fun with this cute image, stamping him onto a circle of watercolor paper with Jet Black StazOn ink.  I watercolored him using Q-tips!  I love how easy this is and how cool it always turns out!

I paired the watercolored image with papers from Bella Blvd. and the vellum from Doodlebug Designs.  The spiderwebs stamped on my card base and the sentiment are also from the stamp set.

Well, I hope you have a great day!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Newton's Nook Designs September Release- Spooky Street

Hi!  I'm popping in today with another card for Newton's Nook Designs!  We are in day three of the September Release- hasn't this been a fun one?  :)  Today's card features the new Spooky Street stamp set:

Spooky Street features some great full image stamps that are slightly distressed for a unique look.  I've used the haunted house for my focal point, stamping it with Jet Black Staz On ink on vellum.  I added a mix of halloweeny sequins under the vellum and then sewed it to the center of the turquoise stars paper (Stampin' Up!).  The sequins are loose and move around when you shake it!

I added the strip of purple polka-dotted paper (Bella Blvd.) over the top and wrapped a bit of black and white twine around it.  I punched the tickets out and stamped the tombstones and sentiment over the gray and splattered a bit of white mist over it.  I adhered the tickets with foam dimensional adhesive.

This one was so fun!!  I love shaker cards :)

Newton's Nook Designs September Release- Perfect Pumpkin

It's release week for Newton's Nook Designs!  They have 4 new sets this month and boy are they fun!  We are featuring Perfect Pumpkin today- an adorable mini set that includes cute little Newton dressed up as a witch:

I colored the kitty with a mix of Copics and Prismacolor pencils.  I also paper pieced the little hat with polka-dot patterned paper.

The papers are from Stampin' Up!'s Motley Monsters collection.  I thought the colors were so pretty together and don't they compliment this cute image well!  :)

Costume Party Layout

Hi there!  Hope you are having a great Friday!  I'm heading out to my favorite lss to crop today- I'm looking forward to some crafty down time with my friends!

I thought I'd pop on and share a layout I created this week using Newton's Nook Designs Boo Crew set.  I had so much fun with this one:

The kids were so excited on the day we had our Halloween party last year.  They loved getting dressed up more than anything and I'm so glad I got these photos to remember!

I picked out a few goodies from Teresa Collins Designs Masquerade Party Line to use with my photos.  I also stamped the adorable mummy bear, ghost kitty, and princess puppy to go along with it all.

I used my colored pencils to color my images and seriously fell in love with them again!  I love how blendable they are with Gamsol and I'm trading in my Copics! lol!  I forgot how much I liked them!

My favorite image is this cute little pup!  We had a pup at our costume party that looked just like this princess and I sooo wish I had a picture of him!  He was dressed as a hot dog! :)

I love mixing my favorite stamps into my scrapbook layouts!  The images from Boo Crew were really a perfect match for these photos!

Well, thanks for stopping by!  Maybe I'll pop in and share what I make today at the crop later this weekend! :)

Newton's Nook Designs September Release- Boo Crew!

Yay!  It's release day for Newton's Nook Designs!  The September releases are so fun!  Today we are featuring the new Boo Crew set!  Here is what I made:

I created my card base out of black cardstock and added the chevron patterned paper by Bella Blvd to the top portion.  I cut a panel of white cardstock and added a strip of purple polka-dotted paper to the bottom.  I matted the panel with orange cardstock and then stamped the cute bear and 'boo' sentiment.  I colored the bear with my Copic markers.

Once he was all colored, I added the yellow banner with the second sentiment stamped on it.  I added a button with a twine bow to finish off the look and added my panel to my card front using dimensionals.

He has some really cute friends in this set- a little owl, a funny dog, and of course, Newton!  They make me smile! I know you'll love them, too!  Newton's Nook Designs is kindly giving away two sets of Boo Crew- here are the details:

Halloween Invites

Good Morning!

Hope you had a great weekend!  It's a little quiet around here since the girls are back in school today!!  They were so excited to be starting 3rd and 1st grade this year!

I can't wait until they are home so I can hear all about their day!  I am relishing the quiet though- don't get me wrong! :)  Hee!

I also wanted to share a couple of invitations I created for the Teresa Collins Designs team blog today!  I created them with the new Masquerade Party collection.  My first card is an interactive invite that features lots of their new products:

After adding the orange chevron print (Webs) to my black card front, I added one of the fun printed Treat Bags to the left hand side.  It's so pretty on its own but since I was using this as an invite, I grabbed the Masquerade Party stamps and stamped  the word Party under the printed word Halloween with a black ink.  I also stamped the You're Invited banner onto natural white cardstock and cut it out.  I added it to the top of the bag using dimensional adhesive.  Next I added a small bit of the striped Border Strip to the bottom and the 31 Die Cut circle to the top.  I added two purple Enamel Dots to each side of the circle at the top.

Since I was using one of the Treat Bags, I thought it would be fun to put my party information inside it.  I cut out one of the invite cards (Invitations) and trimmed it down to fit the bag.  I rounded the corners and stapled a bit of ribbon and twine to the top.

Interactive cards are so fun!  With all the information on the outside, there is still room to write a quick note on the inside, as well.

My next card is also a party invitation.  And, like the last, this one also features one of the great invitation cards:

For this card, I created a white card base and covered it with the bats patterned paper (Bats).  I added a strip of the words patterned paper (Bats) to the center, matting it with a piece of purple cardstock that I punched a scallop edge along.

I cut out a journaling card next and wrapped a bit of purple twine around it.  I added one of the orange Decorative Brads to where the knot was and left the strings hanging from it.  I added it to the card front using dimensional foam dots.  Lastly, I added the Oct 31 Die Cut to the top left corner.  To finish this look, I'll just have to add my party information!

The Invitations cards are so great!  They are so easy to use- all you need to do is cut them out and add your party information to them.  They come twelve to the sheet, too so you can invite all your friends! :)

I had so much fun creating these cards!  The Masquerade Party collection is a perfect mix of graphic and elegance- I love it!

Well, I hope your day is going as well as mine!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Spooky Layout with Inspired Blueprints

Hello!  I don't usually post on weekends but I see that the latest Inspired Blueprints sketch is live!  Sketch #96 was so fun and I really enjoyed working with it!  I chose to scrap a photo from last Halloween of Natalie in her costume- I know!  A little out of season! Hee!  Here is my layout:

Natalie loved her costume last year! She knew exactly what she wanted to be- a Halloween Butterfly Fairy! :) We made the ruffly tutu and found the wings at a second hand store. I painted her face and added a little color to her hair to finish off the look. She must have felt like a real fairy because she flitted all over the place that day! What fun memories!

I have a few bits and pieces of Halloween supplies in my stash from the last few years of teaching classes at Scrapdoodles. I think the orange is from Teresa Collins Designs and the starry black background is from October Afternoon. The silver glitter paper and newsprint is by Stampin' Up! The jewels are by Prima and the medallions are by Jolee's Boutique. October Afternoon also made the label sticker and black washi tape. I cut the title out with my Cameo.

To create the cloudy look to the background, I sponged some white pigment ink around and rubbed it in good. I was really going a dirty chalkboard look but with all the stars in the background, it turned into clouds instead! :)

The team really did great with this sketch! Be sure to pop over to the Inspired Blueprints blog and check out their work along with the original sketch! Don't forget to add your take on the sketch to their online gallery as well!

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Summer Stories for Halloween...

Hello!

Sketch #94 is live over at Inspired Blueprints and I thought I'd share my layout here, too!  I used Teresa Collins Summer Stories Collection to document my daughter Zoey's Halloween costume from last year:

Zoey loved her costume so much!  She was very proud of the gold sequins- I thought this gold glitter accented paper would be perfect to show them off!  I cut my main title with my Cameo and used sticker letters from the He Said She Said line for the secondary title.

I embellished with the Summer Stories clear stamp set, sticker sheet, and decorative brads.  I used the black enamel dots from the Stationery Noted line as well.

Sketch #94 was a lot of fun to work with!  Check it out on the Inspired Blueprints Blog, along with the rest of the team's layouts!

Hope you are having a great Friday!  Thanks for taking the time to stop by!

Boo Card

Hello there!  I hope you are enjoying a beautiful fall day like I am- it really is beautiful in Virginia this time of year.

Today I have a fun Halloween card to share with you today.  I used a fun set from Hero Arts:

Goodies:

Stamps: Girl with Balloon set and Houndstooth background stamp by Hero Arts
Ink: black Memento ink; Old Olive, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie More Mustard, Going Gray inks from Stampin' Up!; skin colored Copic marker
Paper: Confetti White, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry cardstock by Stampin' Up!; Enchantments from Monster Mash line by Imaginisce; Brights DSP pack by Stampin' Up!

I am not the world's best colorer when it comes to using markers... I know that, and it's OK.  I added some paper piecing to make it look a little better and I do like how she turned out, even if she doesn't have glistening hair.  :)

I don't do many Halloween cards but this year I wanted to send out some pictures of my girls in their costumes to their grandparents.  I'm glad I had a need to buy this cute stamp set!  Hee!

Well, thanks for looking at my card today!  See you next time!

Haunted Houses

Hello!

I finished up a fun project over the weekend that I am so excited to share! They turned out really cute:

Fun, right? I don't usually do too much Halloween decorating but I've been wanting to make these houses since summer time. They were inspired by a set of houses the Stampin' Up! convention attendees had a chance to make and I saw them online. I loved them and knew I had to make a Halloween set and hopefully a Christmas set, too! Here are some more detailed pictures:

I used a mix of My Minds Eye's Mischievous line and Echo Park's Apothecary line for the most part with some other bits and bobs thrown it, too. I stained the wood with Ranger's Distress Stains- don't they look cool? I love it!

These were really fun to work on and I decided to teach a class on it down at Scrapdoodles on October 8th. If you are interested in the details, please check out their blog for more information.

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my houses today!
