Inspired Blueprints 113- A Christmas Layout

Hi!

Inspired Blueprints sketch #113 is up!  As always, I had so much fun with the sketch!  I chose an older photo of my youngest during her first Christmas- boy does it bring back some good memories!  Here is my layout:

Natalie Christmas Layout 2

I used Teresa Collins Designs Santa's List collection for this one.  I was saving these papers for a special project and I'm so glad I brought them out for this one!  The photo is one of my favorites- we have it printed and hanging in our living room at Christmastime but I've never scrapped it!

Nats First Christmas Layout 3

I have to admit, I went a little heavy on the patterned paper here!  I love all the prints though and although it looks busy here, it is better in real life.  :)

Be sure to pop over to the Inspired Blueprints blog to see the original sketch and to see what the rest of the team members created- they are such a talented bunch!

Thanks for popping by today!

Summer Days Layout

Happy Monday!

Hope you had a great weekend!  I had a fun one- spent time cropping with friends on Friday and on Saturday, I taught two classes at Scrapdoodles.  I haven't taught in soooo long and I was a little nervous to jump back in.  I enjoyed it so much and left inspired to add some more classes to my schedule!  I forgot how fun it is! :)  After my classes I cropped with another group of friends and then spent the day with my family on Sunday.  It was great!!  Seriously a fun weekend.

Anyways, enough about my weekend, right?  I bet you want to see a project!  Today I'm sharing a layout- this one features my favorite picture of Natalie from our summer break:

The picture was taken in my Dad's newest truck- an old Chevy pickup.  Natalie got to go on a ride with him which was a pretty big deal to her!  She loved it and so did her Papa! :)  Since it was such a fun memory, I went for one oversized photo for this layout.

The Summer Stories collection by Teresa Collins Designs was perfect for this picture!  The colors went with the photo so well and I love the designs.  The sequins are still my favorite, hee!

Peeking at this layout is making me want to print some more photos from our summer vacation.  We had such a great time in Washington state and there are so many good memories I don't want to forget!

Well, hope you have a great day!  Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my page today!

Smile Today Layout

Hello!  How's your weekend going?  I'm having a busy one but it has been so fun!  My husband and I were treated to a night out at the Kennedy Center last night- including babysitting!  We saw Cirque de la Simphonie which was a wonderful show!  The cirque acts made it so fun to watch- it's amazing what people can do with their bodies!  It was my first time seeing the National Symphony Orchestra and I really enjoyed it!  My husband and I don't take many dates so this was a real treat.

I thought I'd pop on today and share a layout I created using the latest Inspired Blueprints sketch as my inspiration.  I love how this one turned out:

The photo is of the girls on the first day of school!  They were so excited and couldn't stop smiling!

I used the papers and sticker sheets from the Vintage Bliss collection by Simple Stories.  I love the colors in this line!  I created a border around my page with word stickers and created my title cluster with a circle cut from the wood plank paper and stickers.  I powdered and popped up the flowers to add a little depth.

The original sketch had banner flags down the left side.  I switched them out for round tags strung onto a piece of twine.  I love how this element turned out:

This sketch was fun to play along with and I hope you get a chance to use it, too!  Pop over to the Inspired Blueprints blog to see the original sketch as well as what the other team members did with it!

Well, I'm off to enjoy my Sunday!  The girls have declared it a jammie day but I'm going to try and talk them into visiting our local state park instead- it's just beautiful outside!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Summer Layout

Hi There!  I have a fun sumer layout for you today thanks to a new sketch over at Inspired Blueprints!  This layout was inspired by #102, a great 1-photo sketch:

I used a few different lines for this one but most of the papers come from the Lakeside line by Pebbles, Inc.  It is a favorite of mine this year!  They were perfect for this photo of my Natalie in the pool earlier this year!

I embellished my page with this fun banner cluster- the cork is from Studio Calico, the button is from October Afternoon, and the epoxy dots are from Teresa Collins Designs.

I also added a little stamping to my page- this little turtle is from the Lawn Fawn Critters in the Sea set.  I colored him with Copics.

One more embellishment cluster- the little tag is from Simple Stories.

I truly enjoyed working with this sketch!  To check out the original blueprint and see what the other design team members created, pop on over to the Inspired Blueprints Blog!  They are such a creative bunch! :)

Well, I hope you are enjoying your day!

A Spooky Layout with Inspired Blueprints

Hello!  I don't usually post on weekends but I see that the latest Inspired Blueprints sketch is live!  Sketch #96 was so fun and I really enjoyed working with it!  I chose to scrap a photo from last Halloween of Natalie in her costume- I know!  A little out of season! Hee!  Here is my layout:

Natalie loved her costume last year! She knew exactly what she wanted to be- a Halloween Butterfly Fairy! :) We made the ruffly tutu and found the wings at a second hand store. I painted her face and added a little color to her hair to finish off the look. She must have felt like a real fairy because she flitted all over the place that day! What fun memories!

I have a few bits and pieces of Halloween supplies in my stash from the last few years of teaching classes at Scrapdoodles. I think the orange is from Teresa Collins Designs and the starry black background is from October Afternoon. The silver glitter paper and newsprint is by Stampin' Up! The jewels are by Prima and the medallions are by Jolee's Boutique. October Afternoon also made the label sticker and black washi tape. I cut the title out with my Cameo.

To create the cloudy look to the background, I sponged some white pigment ink around and rubbed it in good. I was really going a dirty chalkboard look but with all the stars in the background, it turned into clouds instead! :)

The team really did great with this sketch! Be sure to pop over to the Inspired Blueprints blog and check out their work along with the original sketch! Don't forget to add your take on the sketch to their online gallery as well!

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Summer Stories for Halloween...

Hello!

Sketch #94 is live over at Inspired Blueprints and I thought I'd share my layout here, too!  I used Teresa Collins Summer Stories Collection to document my daughter Zoey's Halloween costume from last year:

Zoey loved her costume so much!  She was very proud of the gold sequins- I thought this gold glitter accented paper would be perfect to show them off!  I cut my main title with my Cameo and used sticker letters from the He Said She Said line for the secondary title.

I embellished with the Summer Stories clear stamp set, sticker sheet, and decorative brads.  I used the black enamel dots from the Stationery Noted line as well.

Sketch #94 was a lot of fun to work with!  Check it out on the Inspired Blueprints Blog, along with the rest of the team's layouts!

Hope you are having a great Friday!  Thanks for taking the time to stop by!

A Couple of Disney Layouts

Well, I said I'd be back today and I am! :)  Inspired Blueprints let a bunch of sketches go live last week so I've got two layouts based on two different sketches to share with you!  Both are for my Disney album and happen to feature fun pictures of my sister!  Hee!  I'm sure she'll love that I blogged these!

Here is the first one based on Inspired Blueprints #90:

I created a background using my collection of washi tapes in a criss-cross pattern.  I painted a thin layer of gesso over the top of them to tone them down a bit and then added my pictures, title, and banner.  It's fun and different then my regular scrapping!

The second one is based off of Inspired Blueprints #92:

I love this picture of my sister!  Hee!  She is always up for the goofy things I ask her to do!  We were waiting for the late Main Street parade to start when I took this one!  To showcase this silly picture of my sister, I used the new 24-7 line by Simple Stories. The patterns are all from the 6x6 pad and I used them in place of the pictures in the original sketch.  I embellished the page with a few epoxy dots from My Minds Eye and the stickers and alphabets from the 24-7 collection.

I'm so glad I finally got to share these with you!  If you get a chance, stop by Inspired Blueprints to see all the great sketches that went live last week!  The design team has lots to share!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

My Girls Layout for Inspired Blueprints #82

Good morning!

Today I have a layout to share using the newest Inspired Blueprints sketch, #82.  I've used it to scrap my most favorite picture of my two girls:

Since the pattern in the background was so bold, I decided to go for a cleaner style with this layout.  I've used the pretty 5th & Frolic line by Dear Lizzy for American Crafts- all of the papers and most of the embellishments are from this line. I loved the patterns in this line so much and I couldn't pass up the feathers or the sequins!  Hee!  They are so pretty!

The doily stamp is by Stampin' Up! and was stamped with Versamark and embossed using white embossing powder.  It looks so crisp against the yellow.

This sketch was so fun to work with- I am thankful for such wonderful inspiration!  I hope you have time to play along with us this week and don't forget to check out the rest of the design team's work as well- there are some beautiful takes on the sketch!

Growing Our Roots Page

Hello there!

I am in the middle of a great afternoon of hanging out with three cute kiddos!  They had a half day at school and came home in great moods!  Right now, we are taking a break from the fun for homework... even on half days we can't skip that! :)

I thought I'd pop on while everyone is quite and busy and share a quick page I made recently:

It really was quick to put together, too!  I used the Everyday Eclectic collection by Echo Park again for this one- the soft colors and trendy patterns went perfectly with this Instagram photo of my sister and brother-in-law.  They bought a house over the summer and lucky for me it is pretty close to where I live!

This page was made by cutting rectangles of patterned papers out and layering them onto my background cardstock.  I added the photo, title block, my hand journaling and lastly, a few denim covered brads for embellishment.  It didn't take a whole lot of time and the the photo stands out.

Well, looks like homework didn't take very long! :)  Off to do a little bike riding before the winter cold comes back to our neighborhood... we are having another unseasonably warm day and I love it!

Inspired Blueprints and our Christmas Photo

Hello!

I thought I'd pop on and share that I'm featured on Inspired Blueprints today!  I shared a little bit about myself as well as a layout I made that was inspired by my favorite Inspired Blueprint, #74:

For my first layout as a design team member, I decided to scrap my recent favorite photo- our family Christmas portrait!  We try to take one every year to use for our Christmas cards and this one is especially memorable because we took it on our favorite local hiking trail- one of our favorite places!

I used such a mix of products on this layout- I had made myself a little Christmas kit in order to make a December Daily that never happened.  I had plenty of fun goodies to mix and match together!  I see Echo Park, American Crafts, Pink Paislee, Crate Paper, October Afternoon, We R Memory Keepers and Jenni Bowlin Designs in the papers and embellishments.

I've been reading about the other design team members for the last week or so and it is so fun getting to know everyone!  If you'd like to read my Q &A, please pop over to the Inspired Blueprints blog!

Hope you are having a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by!
