Halloween Banner Class

Well, it's the last day of summer and I'm already thinking about the season ahead- fall!  Particularly, Halloween!  I love to decorate for Halloween and decided to add a banner for my mantel this year.  I was going for a simple and elegant look and love how it came out:

For this project, I used Teresa Collins Designs Masquerade Party collection.  It is perfect for the elegant feel I wanted!

Since this was such a fun project to put together, I've decided to offer it as a class or kit at Scrapdoodles later this month.  Here are the class details:

A Bright Chevron Card

Hello!

I though since there was nothing on TV tonight I'd pop on and blog another card I made last weekend at my crop. This one is full of color! I was inspired by a store customer who was trying to figure out how to create a chevron pattern in a simple way. I've seen it done a number of ways and explained it to her but of course, showing someone is always easier then explaining... lol! So I made a card. Here it is:

Goodies:

Stamps: Friendly Phrases- Stampin' Up!
Ink: Onyx Black Versafine
Paper: Very Vanilla cardstock- Stampin' Up!; patterns by Echo Park and Cosmo Cricket
Accessories: black thread- DMC

I think I'll add this card to my April Card Class line up down at Scrapdoodles. It was fun to make and a great way to use those scraps!

Did everyone enjoy the first day of spring? I spent the day with my littlest Natalie and enjoyed a free ice from Rita's, riding bikes up and down our street, and having bologna sandwiches for lunch. It was fun! I would really like to catch the cherry blossoms up in DC this week but with school and babysitting responsibilities, I'm afraid I am going to miss the beautiful trees this year. Their peak went by so fast this year! Not that I'm complaining about the weather... I'm loving all the sun! I guess it's an OK trade off, as long as the sun keeps shining!

Alright! Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Hope you have a great start to spring!

Well hello!

Hope your week is off to a great start! I'm spending the day with my four year old... playing outside in the sun right now! I'm so glad the winter hasn't been too hard on us this year!

Today I want to share the cards we will be making at my upcoming card class at Scrapdoodles. I haven't had a card class there since last spring and I am so excited to be starting it up again! Here is what we will be making in our March class:

A Little Copic Love

An Easy Marker Technique

A Stamped Tissue Paper Flower

Fun, right? And, if you aren't really a card maker, remember that these techniques can translate very well into scrapbook pages as well.

Favorite Photos of 2011 Mini Book Class

Hello!

How is your week going? Mine is going fast- I guess because of the 3-day weekend. I also joined the gym this week and have been spending my free time there. That's a big step for me! I don't think I've set foot in a gym for over 10 years. It feels great!

I wanted to pop on tonight and share some pictures of my next class project. I'll be teaching this little mini book at Scrapdoodles in Fredericksburg, VA on Saturday, January 28th.

I used Teresa Collins Designs Notations line to create this book. I wanted to use it to showcase my favorite family photos from 2011 but really, the Notations line is perfect for just about any theme.

You can see that each page is a little different. Little tags, tabs, and envelopes make this book a lot of fun!

I've added lots of little details here and there. I added color with a few of my favorite mists as well.

The kit comes with plenty of diecuts and letter stickers to decorate each page any way you'd like to.

I had lots of fun putting this little book together. I hope you can join me for class!

Here are the class details:
