Happy Anniversary to Newton's Nook Designs!

I'm so excited to be celebrating with Newton's Nook Designs today! Can you believe it's been two years of inky paws already?  Two years and their designs are only getting cuter!  I love Newton and all his little pals! :)

I got to play with their new Summer Scoops Stamp Set- it's so cute!  Here is what I made with it:

I love this little image- it reminds me of Rita's Ice!  Have you ever had one?  I love them!  I stamped the image and then used a cool technique to stamp the mirror image of it.  It is an easy technique.  You just need a pretty solid acrylic stamp that is bigger than the image.  Using Memento ink, stamp the image onto the back of the acrylic stamp and then stamp that image onto your paper.

I colored them both in using Copic markers in the colors I pulled from this adorable patterned paper by Doodlebug Designs.  It is so bright and summery!  I put my card together, popping up the middle panel of patterned paper.  I stamped the sentiment onto an oval and then added the colored images.  I added them with more dimensional foam adhesive and finished it off with a couple of cute sequins.

Now that you've seen what I made, check out the rest of the hop and win some prizes!!

Frozen Friends Thank You Card

Hi!  I have a cute little card to share with you today using the adorable Flaky Friends set by Newton's Nook Designs:

With Christmas just past, I was in need of a few thank you cards to send out!  I created a simple layout that I could easily make multiples of.  I also chose an image that was easy to color- for me, that's snowmen!  They only need a few colors :)

I punched the circles first and stamped the little snow dog.  I colored him in and then used the thanks banner image from winged wishes across the top.  I colored it in too!  I chose a couple of winter patterned papers for my background and added a strip of glitter cardstock over the seam. I added a bit of twine and then placed my circle using foam adhesive for dimension.

I ended up creating a bunch of these and they were so quick!

So- I was trying to go all business as usual for this post but now that I'm at the end it's a little harder... this is my last post as part of Newton's Nook Designs Design Team :(  I have enjoyed being on this team so much- I love the people and the adorable designs!  I am sad I can't continue on with them but I know I will have so much on my plate in 2015- it is just my time to say goodbye.  Luckily we can still be friends! :)  Thanks so much Jen!!

Golden Peace on Earth Card

Good morning!  I have a pretty card to share with you today done in white and gold:

I've combined some pretty stamps from Newton's Nook Designs with patterned paper from Teresa Collins.  I stamped the snowflakes from the Beautiful Blizzard set with gold Delacata ink- everything is so sparkly in real life!

The sentiment is from the Holiday Wishes set.  I stamped it onto the raised white panel with Versafine ink.  I embellished with more gold- sequins and thread- and just a pop of turquoise with solid baker's twine from SRM.

This one was so fun to stamp! I love the gold and the sparkle!

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop

I'm excited to be hopping along with Newton's Nook Designs today!  We are celebrating the holidays with the Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop!  I pulled out one of my favorite Newton stamps from the Newton's Curious Christmas set and made this card:

I started with a gray card base and added the snowflake patterned paper to the center.  I cut snow mounds out of white paper next, edging them with Copic markers.  I stamped Newton and his snowman onto white paper and drew another mound under them.  I colored them in using Copic markers and then cut around the image and along my mound line.  After erasing any trace of the line, I shaded it all with more Copic markers.

I stamped the sentiment onto the shortest snow mound and added a few sequins for accent.  Then I layered all of the mounds onto my card front.  I used dimensional foam adhesive to adhere some of the layers- I love how it pops!

A Crabby Christmas Card for the Inky Paws Challenge

Hi!  Happy Friday!  I’ve just packed all my crafty goodies up and am heading down to Richmond for a scrappy retreat with Doodle Crew Retreats!!  I’m so excited!  I look forward to these retreats all year and this time I really feel like I deserve a weekend away. Lol!  These last couple months have had me going in overtime!

Today I’m playing along with this month’s Inky PawsChallenge!  I chose one of my favorite stamp sets from last year- SEA-sons Greetings:

I just love that little crab!  I stamped the Joy and the crab onto watercolor paper and  diecut it into the banner shape.  I also stamped the crab again so that I could paper piece him over later.  I colored them with the residual inks from my ink pads and a water brush.  When the crab was dry, I cut around him carefully and added him on top of the other one.

The papers are from the Echo Park Christmas Cheer 6x6 paper pad.  I cut them into banner shapes to go along with the diecut banner.  I also added a bit of twine for embellishment.

I hope you have a chance to play along with us this month!  Don’t forget to pop over to the Newton’s Nook Designs Blog to see what the rest of the team has made!

Newton's Nook Designs November Release- Beautiful Blizzard

Welcome to the second day of Newton's Nook Designs November release!  Today's set, Beautiful Blizzard is so pretty!  It was inspired by paper quilled snowflakes- isn't that cool?  Here is what I made with it:

I wanted to keep my design simple to show off all of those beautiful snowflakes!  I chose shades of blue to stamp them with.  I stamped them all over a panel of white cardstock and then cut the edges off, stopping at the snowflakes and fussy cutting around the edges that stuck out.  I used a pencil and ruler to do this :)

The sentiment is stamped on a small vellum tag.  I embellished with papers and glittery epoxy dots by Doodlebug Designs.  I also added some pretty opalescent threat behind the sentiment tag.  Don't you love the cute sentiment?

Newton's Nook Designs November Release: Winter Tails

Good morning!  I'm excited to be joining in with Newton's Nook Designs for their November release today!  They have some cool winter sets out this month- so fun!  Today's set is all about the SNOW!!  Winter Tails has cute little critters up to their ears with snow!  Here is what I was inspired to make with it:

The winter after we moved to Woodbridge was pretty cold and brought the most snow we had ever seen outside of the mountains!  We were excited about it all-- except for the shoveling!  lol!  I knew the stamps in the Winter Tails set would be a perfect compliment to the photos from this event!

I stamped the cute critters out on white cardstock and then used the snowy border stamp to make their snow drifts longer.  I colored them lightly with Copic markers and added some glitter with my Wink of Stella pen as well.  I fussy cut around the top of each animal, leaving the snow drifts below solid.

I created a long snowbank along the bottom as well by stamping the border stamp over and over.  I added the sign, sentiment, and snowman parts as well- aren't they fun!!

The title was made with stickers but I stamped the tiny snowflakes from the set around it with Versamark and heat embossed them with white powder.  I also used one of my favorite winter time products, Chunky White Embossing Enamel by Stampendous! to create the snow :)

It's not often that I have time to scrapbook these days but I still love it!   The papers are by Doodlebug Designs.  The stickers are by Echo Park, Bella Blvd, and American Crafts.

Snowy Greetings Card

Good morning!  I'm so happy it's Thursday- it means tomorrow is Friday and I've got some fun crafty shopping planned!  I can't wait!  :)  It also means that it's my day to share a card on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!  I used the new Flaky Friends set to create this one:

I started with a piece of white cardstock and drew a hill with my pencil so I could place my snowmen in sort of a curved line.  I stamped them all out and erased the line.  I colored them all using Copic markers, adding just a bit of glitter to each one for some fun sparkle!

When I was finished coloring, I pieced the hats and scarves on over the snowmen.  Then I fussy cut around each of them, only going to where the pencil line connected them all so that the hill below them was intact.

I used some fun patterned papers from Lawn Fawn and Doodlebug to really make these cute snowmen stand out.  I also stamped my greeting onto a banner and added it to the bottom of the card.  The sequin snowflakes are from Stampin' Up!  They are so cute!!

I made a snowman for each person in my family- isn't that fun?  I love that they included a cat and dog in the set- I can include Morris, too!  :)

Hope you have a great day!  Thanks for popping by!

Hello Sweater Weather!

Hi!  I am playing along with the newest Inky Paws Challenge today! I loved the inspiration photo and based my patterned paper choice on the peppermints.  :)  I also added a little sparkle!  Here is what I made:

Did I surprise you by not making a holiday card?  Hee Hee!  I almost did but I when I pulled out my newest Newton's Nook Designs stamps, the sweater weather sentiment from the Holiday Hounds set really caught my eye!  I had this idea and pulled out the Basket of Wishes stamp set to create the card.

The image has been watercolored- I chose colors that I thought complimented the patterned papers I had already pulled out (Mon Ami by Basic Gray).  I stamped the sweater weather sentiment and then decided to add the hello from the Winged Wishes set.  I tried to make it look like it was written with a bit of yarn- did you get that?

I chose a bit of warm gold glitter paper as my sparkle- it's the perfect compliment to this fun image, isn't it?  Seeing all that yarn is making me want to crochet something!  Maybe I'll pull out my yarn later too!

Don't forget to pop over to the Newton's Nook Designs Blog to see what everyone created for the challenge!  I hope you'll get a chance to play along as well!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release- Christmas Delivery

Hello!  It's our final day hopping with the Newton's Nook Designs holiday release- wasn't it a fun week?  Today's card features another cute set, Christmas Delivery:

I started with a bright red card base.  I stamped holly in red randomly over the left side of the card.  I added the sentiment and also splattered the base with red mist.  When it was dry, I embossed it using a large polka-dot embossing folder.
The image was stamped onto white cardstock and colored using my Prismacolor colored pencils.  I fussy cut around it and then added it, along with a few strips of patterned paper to the card front.  I added some mini staples and twine to finish it off.

Newton's Nook Designs Holiday Release- Newton's Curious Christmas

Good morning!  Are you ready for another super cute set from the Newton's Nook Designs holiday release?  Today's set is Newton's Curious Christmas- featuring Newton!!  It's a must have for all of his fans:

I chose the Newton in the tree image for my card, stamping in onto a white card base.  I colored it with my Prismacolor colored pencils.  I tried stripes this time so he'd look like my kitty Momo. :)  I added the stars around him with yellow ink and the sentiment off to the left.  Isn't it a fun one?

The papers are from the Echo Park Christmas Cheer 6x6 pad- I am loving it this season!

Flaky Friends is such a fun set!  It comes with three different sized snowmen that you can decorate with hats, scarves, and other things to give each one their own personality.  There are also doggie and kitty snowmen!

I kept my card simple, stamping out the snowmen and snow doggie onto white cardstock.  I colored them with colored pencils and added the sentiment to the top.  I also decorated each image with a bit of glitter!  It sparkles so nicely under the light!

I stamped the doxie on to white cardstock and colored it using my Primacolor color pencils.  I am really having fun with them this week!  I fussy cut around him and added him to the tag.  I stamped a few light snowflakes around him and the sentiment below so that it looked like he was jumping over it.  I added the tag to the card base, adding a brad and some twine for embellishment.  The papers, tag, and brad are all by Teresa Collins Designs.
