The Fullness Of His Grace

I had so much fun this weekend with my friends at the scrapbook store.  We spent 3 days and two nights visiting and creating.  We also made some great new friends who were sharing the cottage with us.

I have one more card to post today.  Our Daily Bread Designs has a sketch challenge and I found some lovely paper from Fab Scraps that I thought would be perfect.  One side was floral and the other side with a simple pattern.  I used both sides, layered on distressed and inked pieces of two colors of Bazill.  I stamped the verse from ODBD’s Scripture Series 2 on cream cardstock and die cut it with Spellbinders’ circle die.  I layered this on a lacy die cut created with the Crocheted Circle stamp and the coordinating Crocheted Circle Die  from ODBD.

I distressed and inked all the layer edges and colored the seam binding ribbon with Distress Ink.  The little flowers are from Petaloo.  I added a lacy border and greenery using Cheery Lynn Designs Dancing Doily Lace Border and Japanese Garden Lace Oval dies.

Hope you have a wonderful week.

E. Marie

Tissue Paper Background Technique

I was able to play with my friend, April, awhile back and she showed me how to make this great background called Tissue Paper Background.  It uses tissue paper and glue to create a background with lots of texture.  Then you can add the colors you want.  It is so easy and fun.

For my card I used a variety of distress stains and was a bit more controlled with the coloring to give the look of grass and sky.  After it dried I lightly tapped my VersaMark pad over it and add Sparkle Embossing Powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle.  I want a very light sparkle so I used a paint brush to remove some of the EP before heat setting.

The image and sentiment are from SNS’s new Bicycles set.  I colored the image with alcohol markers, cut it out with a Spellbinders’ label die, and sponged ink around the edges.  Then I added Sparkle N Soft to the flowers.  The sentiment is embossed with Belgian Cream EP on a Spellbinders’ Back To Basics Tag.  I used distress ink to color my seam binding ribbon for my bow.

You will love this technique and can see April’s tutorial here.

Thanks for stopping by!!
