Atomic Wonder Woman

Photographed by Adam Patrick Murray

This is the single most epic Wonder Woman cosplay I've ever seen.  Meagan Marie never fails to impress, but this time, she's outdone herself.  Completely amazing!
"Ready, set, ATOMIC! I instantly fell in love with Atomic Wonder Woman’s design when this statue was revealed. Although a few people didn’t recognize who I was without help from the belt buckle, this costume was received really well at SDCC. And it was super comfortable!

I’ll do a comprehensive blog with construction notes at a later date, but the majority of the armor is made from Worbla and EVA foam. The concrete is expandable insulation foam coated with textured spray paint. You can check out some of my progress photos here!

Overall I’m really happy with how this costume turned out. I’m going to make a few small adjustments before I wear it again, like taking in the top so it fits better."

Weapons: Torgue Shotgun

Torgue Shotgun

"This is a Torgue Shotgun I made for my Borderlands Killer Marauder costume for Dragon*Con 2013. It's made of EVA and craft foam, styrene, hot glue, super glue, Krylon Fusion and acrylic paints, a little pvc and some love."

Weapons: Mjolnir

"I wanted Thor's hammer (Mjolnir), but I wasn't going to accept any old boring plastic prop. I needed something with a little more POP.

I worked with Staci Elaan to build this hammer that has a solid state tesla coil inside. When you push the button, 80,000 volts of electricity arc from the top.

It will light up any flourescent bulbs around, scare children, and leave the smell of ozone behind. It is super fun!

You can read TONS of details here: http://wp.me/pk3lN-psO

Watch the build video here."

Weapons: Plasma Cutter

Weapons: Gravity Gun

Gravity Gun (from Half-Life 2)

Sure, you could just buy a Gravity Gun online, but wheres the fun in that?  Michelle Sleeper walks through how to create one from scratch on her blog. It looks like more work than I would ever put into a costume, but I'm sure there are many of you out there for whom the challenge would be the point for the project.

Tony's back and listening to your requests! This week he's building Sora's Keyblade: The Kingdom Key from "Kingdom Hearts""

Weapons: Terran Marine Rifle

This is Lee Houlgate, a cosplayer and cosplay constructor living in the UK, he wants to build the awesomest StarCraft marine mech suit cosplay known to man. The suit itself will be an impressive 8' feet tall and for some perspective, the gun alone is 5' feet in length.

He plans on having this steel / aluminium suit built to the hilt with robotics that increases his strength, NERF gun weaponry (for blasting), and all the gadgets and gizmos any space marine would have or ever need. If you are interested in helping him out, check out his kickstarter project to learn more.

Weapons: Mass Effect 3 M-25 Hornet SMG

Mass Effect 3 M-25 Hornet SMG by Zander Brandt of ZProps

Built from wood but weathered to look like it's been to Earth and back, Brandt's Hornet is based on the actual dimensions provided by BioWare artist Brian Sum, and it's magazine is actually detachable. Brandt took the piece to Comic-Con, where it was used in a photo shoot by Rana McAnear, the actress who voices Samara in the game.  Make sure to follow the link to check out the build blog.

Weapons: Skyrim Axe

Steel Axe (from Skyrim) by Volpin Props
"There are all sorts of intricate and complicated weapons in Skyrim, but the Steel weapons - low level though they may be - possessed a very cool concentric circle pattern to them that I thought looked particularly awesome. When a client asked me if I had any interest in making the one-handed axe, I jumped on the project."

Weapons: Spider Splicer Hooks

Available for puchase from The Seventh Courier for US$80

Jace made these replica hooks modeled after the ones used by the Spider Splicer enemies from Bioshock.  They’re perfect for fans trying to cosplay or for someone looking for a unique replica from their favorite video game.

The replicas are made from wood and imitation leather and painted to create the weathered and rusty look.  They are handmade to size when you order so they’re custom too which makes them even more awesome.
