"My customer commissioned me to make a leafy cape for her costume. The long pointed hood has leafy details along the neckline. The sparkling branch wings sprout out from the back of her corset. Little bits of moss grow in her branches for a extra organic touch."

Accessories: Asgardian Hats and Scarves
"These are the first two in my Avengers series of hats and scarve that I hope to finish by next year. I don't have much for spare time these days so I work on and off on these when I get the time."
Accessory: Ewok Hood

Chelsea Bloxsom is an artist I've featured quite a few times on the Geek Art Gallery for her adorable handmade plushies, but this may be her best work ever. Not only is the hood completely adorkable, that expression is hilarious.
"Made an Ewok hood for my best friend to wear to a Halloween party. I love it! I love Ewoks!"

Accessory: Brass BearTrap Epaulettes
Brass BearTrap Epaulettes by Binkaminka
While I can't think of any character for which these would be cannon, I think these would make for an awesome original steampunk costume design.
"Pair of brass epaulettes with handmade shaped metal plates. Metal parts are hammered, drilled, sawed and carved by my husband Martin. Highly detailed to look like bear trap and it actually can be fixed in different positions. Lined with black felt and velvet. Carefully shaped to fit shoulders. Single brooch pin inside each shoulder part. Yellow metal chains. OOAK. Very strong looking pair suitable for both women and men. Great stage, performance, modeling and conversation piece."

Accessory: Fourth Doctor Scarf
"28’ 1”, not including tassels. 100% wool, handknitted. Like. A. Boss.
I’m really burned out on the Doctor Who Scarf thing now, but I’m sure eventually I’ll make another one of these and sell it. But before I do that, my next replica will be the S18 scarf - completely different. But before that I have a couple other projects and things. :)
I love my scarf."

Accessory: Dragon Slayer Armor
"All pieces are crafted from 8oz Hardened Veg Tan Leather and 5oz Oiled Leather.
Each piece can be unattached and swapped out with other armor pieces that I craft by tying them in place. Since each portion is separate and connected with softer leather, this allows for fluid movement and comfort for extended use.
This so far is the upper portion, I do plan to finish the set at a later date, but for now here it is.
For those of you who requested, you can find this set or individual pieces for sale/commission at my etsy site under the Armor section."

Accessory: Ichabod

"Ichabod" Plague Doctor mask by Tom Banwell
I've always found plague masks fascinating. On one hand, they have a grounding in actual history; one the other hand, they look like something out of a fantasy novel. They were worn by physicians attending plague victims, which ought to make them a sign of peaceful intentions, and yet, there is something singularly terrifying about the faceless, avian aspect of a person wearing one.
Few people on the net do plague masks as well as leather worker Tom Banwell. Here's an example of one he did last year that I think represents his best work. If you like it, make sure you sure on over to his blog to check out the rest of his work.

You want your costume to get noticed? These are the way to go!! They are made to fit a wide range of people but if you have really large or small hands, let me know and we can resize them accordingly. They are surprisingly comfortable articulate with your wrist for ease of movement.
We create leather armor. Everything that we sell is 100% handmade from beginning to end by my husband (male armor) and myself (female armor).

Accessory: Crocheted Spock Ears
From Shove Mink of Croshame comes the easy-to-make slip-on Star Trek-inspired Crocheted Spock Ears. She’s even included a pattern for them which she estimates will take half hour to produce.
While we might not be traversing far-off galaxies, transporting ourselves onto to Klingon spaceships, or shuffling off to the holodeck for exasperating Sherlock Holmes RPGs, many of the objects people use today – cell phones, video conferencing, GPS devices, stun guns — were predicted by Star Trek many decades ago.
Well, Christmas has come and gone and you’ve already gotten all the fancy stun guns and tricorders and communicators your heart could desire, so why not try out some of that fabulous Star Trek fashion sense with my pattern for crocheted Spock Ears?

Accessory: Jordan Last Shot 14 Gas Mask
"My work is an outlet for me. A chance to reflect on the world around me. I’m often asked about my politics, what these masks mean, “what’s the point?” or “why would you?”. The art world wants to promote artists who further their politics, unfortunately independent thinkers don’t quite fit that mold sometimes. I don’t want my work to be a reflection of my personal politics, they’re there but I’d prefer to speak through my work rather than preach through it. The important things are 1) exploring creativity and imagination 2) making something manufactured in limited quantities into something one of a kind and handcrafted and 3) working with materials that I’m passionate about. Love it, hate it, misunderstand it or just plain get it… it’s art so it’s up to you to find your own understanding of it."

Hello Kitty Proton Pack
Spotted at this year’s New York Comic Con, this guy opted for sporting Ghostbusters costume with a twist - a Hello Kitty-themed Ghostbusters proton pack that reportedly took six months to build. It features LED lights, rainbow strapping, and the ability to vanquish evil spirits with a stream of super-cuddly protons. See more shots at DVice.
