In the Phoenix area, we only had one game store participating in Free RPG Day. That store is Imperial Outpost Games (their website is still under construction.)
Here's the swag I was able to get --
Raggi did a very creative job with his "Doom Cave" adventure. I like his attitude. I wish I could pull that off myself sometimes. :)
Lots of things to like in this adventure.
The DCC Adventure has cool maps. I only skimmed it. I had to finish my "honey do's" and choices have to be made. :)
And a cool Fudge die.
To thank them for their participation, I made a purchase of a couple of larger Bones figures. An eldritch horror and a faceless monster? They're cool.
Thank you Imperial Outpost. I'll be back!

The Dwarves Have Been Busy!
Received my Dwarven Forge Game Tiles!
Here are some pics of the Chamber of Sorrows!
I'm very happy with the Tiles. I dropped several during unpacking (I'm clumsy) and nothing at all happened to them. I plan on beating these up through heavy use, so I'm extremely excited about the durability.
I ordered painted sets and from the sheer volume I received (2 heavy boxes containing 5 sets plus extras) I'm glad I spent the money. This would be weeks and weeks of painting.
I'm overloaded with Bones as it is!!! :)

[Bones] Gorsen, Cleric of Lathander
Now that CotMA is wrapped up, I'm playing rather than DMing. :)
Here's the mini I painted for my PC --
I'm not a great painter, but he'll do. :)
PS: I just made 2nd level!

One Bone, One Wizard
In my CotMA game, there's a recurring undead villain named Corvus the Black. I've been using a generic "Shade Knight" to represent him --
But no longer! Check out the guy on the left!
Corvus the Black and a Chaos Wizard |
Of course, who can't use a Chaos Mage when they are running a campaign? The guy on the right is a Games Workshop plastic from a long time ago. He's been rattling around but now he's done. I think he turned out nicely. The bronze is a new paint I bought this weekend and I like it. Did a red wash over the metallic on his staff. His hands seem to be freakishly big, however. :)

More Minis, One More Bone...
I'm finding myself painting a lot these days. Partly because I have HUNDREDS of minis to paint and partly because I find it relaxing... I have a considerable amount of stress in my job these days. Painting also has less calories than eating, which is what I tend to do if I sit on the couch...
So, here are some pics of the latest minis I've finished. I've never claimed to be a great painter, but I think my work is OK and certainly not terrible. You may have a different opinion. :) If so, well, remember the thing I said about my stress at work... :P

The one in the middle is a Bone(s)
Ack these are blurry. :(
This Saurian is actually "Rex" a lizardman played by Matt in a Savage Worlds game from long, long ago... I finally got him finished. I had to build out the front of his base with some putty so that he wouldn't fall over.
My name is "Tim."
This is the "Prodigal Sorcerer" from the Magic: The Gathering miniatures line. I've had him in my box for years and years. He was primered, but never really painted. Well, he's done now.
I wanted a "blue" theme to him since he's a big part of blue within the M:tG universe. Just couldn't bring myself to paint his clothes like that...

[Bones] More Progress...
Here are a few more old Grenadier hirelings/henchmen... Just love these guys. Such character. :)
Nice to have a few non-combatant hirelings...
Here's a Chronoscope (?) Bones. I'm planning to use her as Sgt. Telion in my WH40k Banecorp Space Marine Army.
I think she turned out pretty well.

[Bones] More Progress...
Here are some more minis from this weekend's painting spree...
An "eyebeast" I think. I like the way he turned out.
I make the bases larger with Sculpey and a 1" washer. Then I blend the crack (a bit) with Squadron White Putty. I've not tested the bases for durability. I suspect they are a bit fragile, but I typically am careful with my stuff. :)
A couple old Grenadier "Henchmen." I like to paint these guys up a little gaudy. I think the wash turned out well.

[Bones] Progress So Far...
Here are the first two Bones I've painted...
This is the "Iron Golem" from the set. I painted him in gold to represent an adamantine golem that exists in my Queston campaign. The golem is called Lomax and serves the Fyrking as the leader of the Golden Fyrguard. I suppose he's more like a warforged than a golem, but there weren't warforged back in the day.
Here's a crypt. Who doesn't need a nice crypt during the odd dungeon crawl?

My House is Filled with BONES!
Just a short post to say that my Reaper Bones arrived. Wow. I will never need to buy another mini for the rest of my life. :)
Yeah right...
Yeah right...
