They had a lot of fun!
We also had our family birthday party on his actual birthday. He loved the homemade gifts (zebra stilts, pencil holder, Camp Halfblood T-shirt), food gifts like chocolate, favorite cereal, and sour patch kids, and he also loved his new flip stuffed animal, crazy balancing game, and new football!
He is such a great kid!
On September 4 he received the Aaronic Priesthood and was ordained to the office of a deacon. Since Dad couldn't be here, he had Bishop Hayes perform the ordination, with Eric Abeyta (scout leader), Mark Evans (friend), Jacob Hernandez (friend), and Camden Jester (former primary teacher). It was a very sweet blessing, filled with the spirit.
After church he had the opportunity to visit Stephanie at home with her new baby and pass the sacrament to her. That's my boy, right away using the priesthood to serve!

I'll second that, he is a terrific kid. Looks like a really good birthday celebration. Someone sure does have cake decorating talents! It is wonderful to see young men grow and accept priesthood responsibilities. Proud of this kid!
